## What is Travel Buddy?

Travel Buddy is a digital scratch map for your phone. Track the countries you have visited on your own world map, keep every trip in a travel journal, and plan the next one.

YOUR SCRATCH MAP OF THE WORLD
Color in every country you have ever set foot in. It works like the scratch off world map on your wall, except it is always with you and you never need a coin. Your visited countries map fills up as you travel, and a country counter tracks your progress toward all 195.

AUTO-IMPORT YOUR TRAVEL HISTORY
Buddy reads the places in your camera roll and rebuilds years of travel history in minutes. Your travel map, photo memories and past trips are filled in for you. You just confirm.

A TRAVEL JOURNAL THAT ALMOST WRITES ITSELF
Log trips with photos, dates, notes and ratings. Every trip becomes a keepsake: the route, the journal and the camera roll, kept together in one place.

SEE EVERY TRIP ON A MAP
Your stops on a real city map, numbered in the order you will visit them, with the route drawn between them and the travel time for every leg. Tap a day to zoom into it, or tap a pin to open that stop in your maps app.

TRAVEL STATS & MILESTONES
Days abroad, countries visited, continents reached: your travel statistics, beautifully presented. Every year becomes its own yearbook cover, and you can share your stats as a video.

PLAN YOUR NEXT TRIP
Tell Buddy, your AI trip planner, what you are dreaming of and get a day-by-day itinerary in seconds that you can reorder and make your own. Keep a bucket list of dream destinations, and let Buddy suggest your next trip based on where you and your friends have been.

TRAVEL WITH FRIENDS
Follow friends, compare travel maps, and see the countries you both dream about. Invite with a link and plan trips together.

WIDGETS
Your world map, visited-country count and next-trip countdown, right on your home screen.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Travel Buddy works without signal and syncs when you are back online. Your travel diary is yours: private by default, no ads.

Whether you are a country counter chasing all 195, a backpacker journaling the route, or a family mapping vacation memories, Travel Buddy is the scratch map you always have with you.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.2.0 — 2026-10-03

Start right away: build your map and save it without signing up. Add Apple, Google or email whenever you like to keep your map safe on every device and to follow friends or plan trips with Buddy. Your countries come with you. Plus a smoother first launch.

### 3.1.1 — 2026-09-28

Buddy is more dependable: a plan that never reaches you, say because you switched apps while it was being written, no longer uses up your free plan, and the review question now waits until your plan is ready. Since 3.0: a free 7-day Pro trial for eligible accounts, and faster loading for trips, map photos and the people you follow. Updating from before 3.0? Sign in once and it is all there.

### 3.1.0 — 2026-09-24

Eligible accounts can now start a free 7-day Pro trial right from the upgrade screen. The people you follow, your trips and the photos on your map load faster, and sign-in and password reset links are more secure. Updating from a version before 3.0? You need to sign in again once. Everything saved to your account is waiting for you.

### 3.0.0 — 2026-09-22

Travel Buddy 3.0 is rebuilt from the ground up as a fully native app. It opens faster, scrolls smoother, takes less than half the space on your phone and uses far less memory. Your map, trips, photos and stats are all where you left them. One thing to know: after this update you need to sign in again once. Everything saved to your account is waiting for you. New: the app is now also available in French.

### 2.4.0 — 2026-09-11

Build your travel map before creating an account. Pick countries, preview and share your map, then save it when you’re ready. Your draft stays saved between visits. Enjoy a refreshed world map and iPhone navigation, easier signup, clearer trip routes, and more reliable sharing.
