## What is Travel Budget Tracker?

Kapunka is a travel money tracker for long trips — the kind where you cross borders, juggle three currencies, and pay in cash more often than you expected.

There are no trips to declare and nothing to plan. Log what you spend, and it sorts itself by the country you were in — including the countries the app works out on its own. Everything is free, there is nothing to buy, and there is no account to make.

YOUR MONEY, IN EVERY CURRENCY
• Log expenses by category in any currency, with your home total alongside
• Split one expense between cash and card
• Deposits stay held money and never count as spending until they come back
• Subscriptions and memberships, with a reminder before each renewal

APPLE PAY, CAUGHT AS YOU TAP (BETA)
• Build one Wallet automation in Shortcuts and your in-store taps arrive on their own
• The amount, the shop and the card come through — you just confirm the category
• The category is suggested from the shop's name, and the shop found on the map
• In-store taps only, and the app is plain about everything it will never catch

WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN, WITHOUT LOGGING IT
• A map of every country you have stood in, read off your own photos before you log a thing
• A calendar of flags — a month reads as where you were, not as a grid of numbers
• A quiet diary of which country you were in each day, kept with the app shut
• Every day says how it knows — seen, worked out or not known — and you can correct it
• Every city on the map carries a card: the nights, the spend and a photograph you took

VISAS AND THE PAPERWORK
• Every visa you hold on one page — valid now, not started yet, or over, with the days left
• Add the passport you travel on and see where it takes you: visa-free, on arrival, or apply first
• A day says whether a visa covered you where you were, and whether you were insured
• Countdowns for visas, SIMs, rentals, gym passes and insurance

STAYS THAT BEHAVE LIKE STAYS
• Prepaid, part-paid or cash on arrival — the money lands where it actually went
• Check-in settles what you owe the property; check-out hands your deposit back
• Extend a stay and the nights, the total and the reminders all follow

PLACES, PICKED ON A REAL MAP
• Tap a place on the map and it is picked at its own spot, not where your finger landed
• What is around you is listed as you move, so you never have to know a name
• Save the places worth remembering, with notes, a rating and a pin that reopens in Maps
• The photos already on your phone line up with the map, at the places you took them

WHAT IT ALL ADDS UP TO
• Insights by country — a card each for food, beds, transport, wellness and shopping
• Your favourite places and your biggest expenses, country by country
• Packing checklists to run through before every checkout
• Laundry drop-offs with a reminder when it is ready
• Day trips and treks, paid when they start and priced across the days they run

BUILT FOR THE ROAD
• Works offline
• A bundled airport directory, so you can log a flight from the gate with no data
• Place search runs on your device, not on somebody's server
• An arrival page when you cross a border, with a one-tap currency switch

FREE, WITH NOTHING HELD BACK
Every feature, everywhere you go. No ads and nothing to buy.

IT NEVER TOUCHES YOUR BANK
There is no bank connection and no way to add one, by design. Apple Pay charges come from a Wallet automation you build yourself, and every other expense is one you enter.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
There is no Kapunka account and no Kapunka server. Your expenses, notes and places are files on your own phone. No data selling, no cross-app tracking.

Questions or ideas? There is a feedback button in Settings that reaches a human.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.9.1 — 2026-09-10

Kapunka's first run is rebuilt.

• Guess how many of your photos were taken abroad, then watch the real number arrive
• Your map draws itself from where your pictures were taken, before you log a thing
• Say no to photos or location and the app tells you what that costs, then works without it
• Everything is free — no plans, no limits, nothing to buy

### 2.8.10 — 2026-09-08

Smoother flights over your map, and a simpler way to tell us what you think.

• The zoom video keeps moving all the way from your country down to the rooftop, and waits for the map to finish drawing before it records each frame
• Rating the app is one question now — anything under five stars opens a page where you can say what is wrong
• Fresh visa rules for every passport

### 2.8.9 — 2026-09-07

Fly to where you were.

• Zoom video — pick a country, a city and a place you have been to, and watch the map fly to each one over satellite imagery, naming it as it lands, right down to the rooftop. Every city is framed whole and centred, the border draws itself in as the country comes into view, and the pace of every leg is yours to set.
• Export it as a 9:16 clip, ready for TikTok or Reels, signed with the Kapunka mark. Find it under Settings → Travel.

### 2.8.7 — 2026-09-05

Say what you think.

• Get in touch — a new page for a bug, an idea, or something that is not quite right, by Telegram or email. Kapunka is free, and hearing what is wrong is how you give something back.
• Not ready to rate? The review page now has an X, and “I have some feedback” takes you straight to Get in touch.

### 2.8.6 — 2026-09-03

Your first map, fixed.

• The page that offers to draw your map no longer sits at zero — its photo and place counts arrive straight away, with your photos on the country.
• Photos taken on a beach or in a bay were left off the country’s outline. They are on it now.
• The map drawn from your photos is now the app’s own map: each city a card with a few of your photos, the country as one card when you pull back, and a tap on a card opens everything you shot there.
