### 5/5 — I am enjoying this tremendously

*2019-03-26*

Hi guys, this is Ray Williams, I am one of your blind users of this app, and I love it, it’s a great app, as far as I’m concerned, you don’t need to improve it, just continue doing what you do, and I will continue to enjoy this app. I look forward to more soundscapes.

**Developer response:** Wow thanks Ray! We wish we could give it even more time and attention but we still have day jobs. Maybe someday Travelear will be our full time work :) thanks again!

### 5/5 — GGGG

*2019-02-01, version 1.2.5*

It’s really great app I’ve ever seen. Yeah admire for its motivation. Hope you can upload more. Good job though😉

### 5/5 — Love this app but . .

*2019-01-24*

First off, I love this clever idea of an app. It’s gritty and sounds like I’m literally there. Props to the developers. I wish there was a sleep timer tho. I want to fall asleep to this music, I also wish it was updated more. Seems kinda the same thing over and over. Maybe a playlist option too? Also on the lock screen if I want to go back a song or skip a song I would like that option. :)

Anyways thanks for creating this :)

**Developer response:** thanks for the feedback! We agree on your ideas, some of them coming in the next release ;)

### 5/5 — This app could be improve.

*2019-01-14, version 1.2.5*

I really like the motivation of this app, “use the sound of the city travel the world.” Soundscapes, use our own mind to create the image by the sound. But there’s still a lot of soundscapes not being recorded down, for example, Puerto Rico. Maybe this app is still in process. I truly appreciate this app by the way. 🌹

### 5/5 — How

*2019-01-13, version 1.2.5*

How can I upload my record?

### 5/5 — Oasis

*2018-12-20, version 1.2.5*

12/19/2018 I listened to Winter Forrest and Chinatown, Queens. Ahhhhhh I love all sounds of winter. I felt the crisp air on my face and felt the snow under my feet while listening. As a Queens resident I thoroughly enjoyed the sounds of Chinatown in Queens. I relish in the opportunity to immerse my ears in the sound of a cultural cityscape. As usual I can’t wait for the next Travelear sounds.

10/21/18 I just listened to Midnight in the Harbor. This is one of my new favorites. I haven’t been feeling well and this soundscape really soothed my soul. Keep them coming.

9/3/18 I just caught up on my latest Traveler soundscapes. I wasn’t sure I would like the soothing car ride but it was pleasantly calming. St. Mark’s square was such a delight for not only my ears but all my senses as I was transported back to my time in Venice. I liked the winter soundscape. Would love to hear more winter sounds as I love all things snow and winter related. Keep them coming Travelear dream team!!

5/18/18 Oh the beauty that is Travelear continues to save me. My new favorite in the winter forest. I usually only like the ones with human interaction but this brought me back to my favorite winter wonderlands. Always looking forward to the next one. This is an app worth having!!!

I continue to enjoy the sounds of Travelear. I recently listened to all podcasts and thoroughly enjoy your social media presence. At my job everyone plays music I can't stand. I am able to put in my headphones, as we all know Travelear is best enjoyed with headphones, and drowned out all of the noise. I love escaping during the day via the magic carpet that is Travelear.

REVIEW FROM DECEMBER 2017: Thank you for creating this app. I work like a dog and seldom have the opportunity to travel. In addition I spend a good amount of time commuting. Travelear takes me to places I've never been but always wanted to visit as well as places I long to hear again. The soundscapes aid me in relaxation during my journey to and from my job. Personally, I enjoy the human/ urban landscapes more so than the nature scenes. But they all have their beauty. Please keep them coming so I can continue to take trips through sound. I have some amazing suggestions that I shall be sharing privately. Keep up the innovative work!

### 5/5 — I love this!!

*2018-12-10*

I use this to fall asleep, relax, and get inspiration. It all feels so real! It’s insane how I can feel like I am right there at the location. I love the variety of places and sounds. Keep it up!

**Developer response:** thank you so much! glad to hear you are enjoying it.

### 5/5 — Travelear

*2018-11-05, version 1.2.5*

Amazing app

### 5/5 — Wow amazing!

*2018-10-15*

Wow! This is amazing! It’s amazing virtual reality audio. Not to be offtopic, but as a matter of fact, I might be testing a virtual reality game that kind of like this, called circus Masters revenge which you use sound to shoot enemies.
Anyway, do you think you can add some more things, for Halloween as well? Like the haunted mansion ride at Disneyland, or even some Star Wars things? Also do you think you can add a walking feature where you can virtually walk anywhere and it will pick up where you walked? This is a great app! I strongly think you should develop games for the blind as well. It’s the same concept, only a game. And Audiogame.

Keep up the great work!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the kind review, we are doing our best to make this the best it can be. None of this would be possible without people like you. Augmented reality is definitely something we've been thinking about. Stay tuned, more to come!

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2018-08-29*

This app is absolutely brilliant. It would change the game however, if they added a download function so I wouldn’t have to use data all the time.

### 5/5 — Loving the new layout and accessibility

*2018-08-26*

Reading other comments that’s great you guys took the blind community into account with this version. I’m not blind but I still really enjoy the app.

**Developer response:** Thank you!

### 5/5 — Wonderful app

*2018-08-22*

I love how the app developer consider accessibility in this last update. We desperately needed it. When we contract with the developer he was quick to respond. I like that in a developer. Someone who is considered to the needs of the users. Furthermore.. I appreciate the fact that the sounds are absolutely recorded, and we can be worst way to darn near anywhere.

**Developer response:** thanks for the support. It's comments like this that give us so much motivation to keep going. Really happy you like the improvements we've made, there is plenty more to come...stay tuned :)

### 5/5 — Go There Without Leaving Home

*2018-07-23, version 1.2.3*

This is the best app I've installed all year. The binaural soundscapes are absolutely stunning, rich, varied and constantly updated. There are no in app purchases, the sounds are free to enjoy, and the app has some nice touches, like being able to add sounds to a queue. Whether you're a sound geek, or just want something interesting to listen to in a free few minutes, I recommend you download this app now if not sooner!

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2018-07-17, version 1.2.3*

A good idea for the app
What kind of equipment do you use to record the sound?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No trial

*2026-03-03, version 2.0.0*

No try before buy. In fact you have to create an account before you can do anything at all. Pay before try is good for them, not the user.

### 1/5 — Too many nature fiend tracks, not enough Real life tracks

*2019-07-09, version 1.2.8*

When I heard the name Travelear, I excitedly hoped for an app filled with tracks of daily life in foreign cities. While some tracks met my expectations, they were few and far between. I couldn’t care less what the birds of Greece sound like. Give me a track of the sounds of Athens, and we have a winner!

### 1/5 — 打開畫面全黑

*2019-01-13, version 1.2.5*

等了很久都沒有畫面

### 1/5 — app is incompatible

*2018-05-17, version 1.2.2*

iPhone 6s incompatible！

### 1/5 — Why?

*2016-12-20*

Thought this would be good for air travel and relaxing but it's just a glorified web browser. Does nothing without an internet connection. YouTube is just as easy to find sounds on.

### 2/5 — Hate new version

*2017-09-16, version 1.2.1*

You took what was a perfectly good application and tried to get cutesy. The map, which takes up half of the screen, and absolutely no value.

### 3/5 — Excellent quality yet too short track duration

*2020-12-21*

I’ve been looking for an app
Like this for a long time. Binaural Audio is amazing but I fear the point has been missed a little. The track durations are way to short to allow true immersion. I tried laying back and letting myself drift off but I’m slammed back to reality by the sudden fade out after only a few minutes.

Furthermore a little variation in the position of the microphone would be nice along with some info on the best position to be in. I.e positioning the microphone to mimic laying on the beach with your head towards the water. This way the listener knows that the track is best experienced laying down.

I feel like the developer likes recording these but hasn’t gotten 100% serious about it. Give us an hour of sitting in a forest or on a park bench in Central Park. The point should be to give us the audio and let our minds fill in the other senses. With a little tweaks this could be a home run!

So close to being a “take my money” app.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much! We are aware of many of the issues you mentioned, especially with some of the older ones. We had some learning curves :). Interesting point about head position...something to stew over.

Our other app Dreamear, has similar recordings but with an infinite loop you might want to check out as well.

### 3/5 — Please fix

*2018-06-12, version 1.2.3*

Great app but this app need to be fixed. App crashes after using it for a few minutes.

### 4/5 — I love the idea of this app...

*2018-08-15*

I love the idea of this app, and the recordings it does have are beautiful, gritty, hypnotic, whatever you want, sort of. There need to be more!!! That is my biggest criticism. I rarely rate apps, usually only when there’s a problem, like a lot of other people. But I think this app could be something truly wonderful, the companion to something like Google Earth, which has elevated the armchair traveler (or housebound person, like me,) into an actual sightseer. With Travelear people could expand their experience to the all-encompassing sound of places they love or have dreamed of visiting. Of course the recordings they have at present are a small but decent collection of exotic white-noise, but they’re also wonderful in and of themselves. I will probably never travel to my favourite city—London—again, but hearing the very familiar sounds of ‘The Tube’ was like coming home. I also use this app (and other better ones, in my opinion) to evoke a mood or a time or a place when I am reading (big fan of historical fiction.) Travelear, with more places, sounds, & choices would be an app I would use every single day.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much! This is definitely coming soon! Our goal is to have content creators from all over the world contribute to our platform on a regular basis. Stay tuned!

### 4/5 — Add More Sounds Please?

*2018-05-28*

That, or create ways users can add their own while traveling? (E.g. the way LibriVox does). Right now the scope of the app is very limited. This idea has the potential to be able to transport users to thousands of locations around the world. You need to grow it or create a way for it to grow organically.

**Developer response:** Definitely the goal! We are currently working on a web version that will allow our creators to post themselves! Thanks for your support and feedback!

### 5/5 — Great

So good.

### 5/5 — Travelear

*2024-05-17*

Good evening traveler developers my name is Ulises Gomez and I recently re-downloaded the app today. I totally love the dance party and the other great features of this app. Keep them coming.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2020-08-12*

I love this app. I love that you can travel virtually anywhere around the world. When I’m bored just sitting in the car I can just pop on a pair of headphones and go to New York, or LA, or anywhere that has been uploaded to the app. I also love that it’s fully accessible. There’s not a lot of fun accessible apps that are free, and so this one was a really good find.

**Developer response:** This is great to hear, thanks Jess!

### 5/5 — Dreamear

*2020-04-24, version 1.4.1*

Dreamear is awesome. Really helps me focus while studying. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Great App for Relaxation

*2020-04-21, version 1.4.1*

This app provides the audio experience to several different locations. I turn it on to help me sleep! It works wonderfully!

### 5/5 — Careful It’s Addictive

*2020-04-19*

This app paired with my BOSE headphones... Sleep heaven!! The 3-D sounds are really cool too. The app itself is easy to use and straight forward, just click, listen and Zzzzzzzz... I live on a loud street in NYC and it helps me sleep. 5+ Zzzzzzs

**Developer response:** hey thanks!!! so happy you are enjoying it!

### 5/5 — amazing app!!!

*2020-04-13, version 1.4.1*

Ow love this app! Especially now that we're all stuck at home, I can go to a bunch of different places without even leaving my couch or bed lol. This app is amazing. quarantine

### 5/5 — Wow :)

*2019-08-26*

Was looking for something like this. Unique and good qualities sound and they all are real/recorded I’ve used too many sound apps but stick to this one.
This is an app where you don’t need to stick with few sound.
😍😍

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your kind words! We have a ton more content coming your way soon, stay tuned! :)

### 5/5 — So cool!

*2019-06-12, version 1.2.6*

Zzzz is all I have to say. I’ve been using the Night Chimes sound to fall asleep bc it reminds me of home! Love this app.

### 5/5 — Love :)

*2019-05-29*

Love this app! It’s truly unique & honestly real! No other sound app can compare!

I want to thank the developers. And since I enjoy app so much, I’d like to humbly offer a suggestion for the future... I’d love for app users to be able to make/submit their own short video clips. Developers would review all & add the clips that met the app standards... It would give this app more life, more fun, more reasons for people to download & tell their friends about it!

**Developer response:** thank you so much! Stay tuned, we are relaunching our website in the next couple of weeks which will include the ability for content creators to submit their own works. thanks again!
