Why does this app use so much storage? Also the scribble button needs to be tapped multiple times before it actually updates. Gets old having to do this every time. ### 2/5 — Only 3x3 available *2025-04-17* I have other apps that are tracking all my listens and while the app seems to as well, it will not let me go more than 3x3 for albums even though that time period is well over 30. Been that way for 3 weeks. Even tried doing all time and it will only do a 3x3 **Developer response:** You need to get the premium version to get more mosaics. I deleted it. ### 3/5 — Performance *2023-12-11* It’s a decent app though i don’t need and don’t use any of its features except, well, scrobbling. Why is it so slow escapes me though. It’s usable on an iPhone 12. It’s unusable on my older iPad - it’s just loads and refreshes and refreshes and loads and refreshes. It’s pretty crazy that you can play GTA on a device, but can’t run an app only meant to send a few kilobytes to the server. **Developer response:** The app only uses Last.fm to send or fetch scrobbles. All other features get its data querying the local database in which all your library is saved. All data displayed, counters, top albums or artists by play count or play time, etc. are fetched using queries from the local database (some of them fairly complex) and after that, the contents of the queries are processed before displayed. Last.fm isn’t very reliable, so the app connects to the server only when it is indispensable. In addition, scrobbles are sanitized before saved. All this overloads the app’s performance. Yes it is, the app is slower than I would like, but last versions have seen a boost in speed and performance. I will work in speed thing up more in next updates. Getting scrobbles and send them to Last.fm only consumes a few seconds (usually 0.1 sec. per track. approximately). A game like GTA uses hardware and software acceleration, a feature that Trax cannot use. ### 1/5 — Nice upd *2023-10-21* Never duplicated, now makes duplicates each time, duplicates things I already Scrobbled on pc from apple history, so I have to remove more than 100 scribbles by hand. Will never use again **Developer response:** If you use two scobblers at the same time, you’re going to have duplicates in Last.fm. You can deactivate the scrobbler feature in Trax in Settings. ### 3/5 — Better than Last.fm app for sure *2023-07-16, version 2.2.5* Would be really nice to make the HUD/display a bit cleaner. Like when looking at the charts, give us the ability to see 6 artists at once by offering the option to hide the bar with the Tracks/Artists/Albums and the 7/30/90 day time periods, as well as the toggle between play count and play time. Dont see why we cant hide that, unless Im missing something. Also it crashes and freezes quite a bit for me, but Im not complaining too much bc it looks better and works better than last.fm. The scrobbling feature is the same for the free and the paid version of the app. There’s no reason for the app to give up scrobbling the data logged in Apple Music app. Just remember the music played to be scrobbled must be on your library if you are streaming it. If not, the Music app doesn’t log those listens and Trax Scrobbler can’t access those plays to scrobble it. ### 3/5 — MacOS version doubles scrobbles *2023-01-28, version 2.1.17* Downloading this on Mac duplicated a ton of my scrobbles retroactively going back several weeks. Was a real pain to fix. Seems to be fine on iPad tho, just shouldn’t be available on Mac until problems are fixed ### 2/5 — Started working now it doesn’t *2023-01-16* When I got the app it started working for the songs I have listened to within the hour but then the next day after I had listened to songs all night I reloaded the app and it said I had no new songs scrobbled, I had used Apple Music all night and so I don’t know why it was working than just stopped. **Developer response:** Hi Julia. The songs listened in Apple Music app have to be in your library even if they are streamed. Songs streamed but not in your library aren’t logged in by the Music app and then Trax cannot scrobble them as there is no activity available for those listening sessions. I couldn’t even get that far. I’ve noticed this app has edited my scrobbles and is ruining my library. I have to use this and Bijou.fm in orchestra to really justify interfacing with the app. I hope this feedback inspires action rather than clap-back. ### 1/5 — pretty much useless and waste of money. *2025-02-23, version 2.3.3* It scrobbles completely on its own terms and so seldom I might as well manually enter the name and artist every single time i listen to a song. I’ll have it open and running and connected to wifi or data and it will scrobble a song or two and then if i either exit the app (keeping it open in the background! not swiping out and completely ceasing background activity), or simply switch to data or wifi, not only does it not scrobble any subsequent tracks after the switch (even if there is still internet access) it also deletes all the preceding scrobbles from that day, effectively erasing the (non desktop) history. And if it isn’t doing that then I can be actively listening to music using wifi and have trax scrobbler open and active and it literally just does not scrobble and tells me im not listening to anything and as far as i can tell theres no way to refresh because swiping out and reopening the app doesnt work. Every so often i’ll open it and it will show me one song that i tried to scrobble several days previously and not any of the 50+ other songs i listened to with the app running that day. The one thing it does show is whatever is already logged by last.fm desktop or desktop browser scrobbling. But there is actually an app from the developer for mobile that shows you that stuff and its not the purpose of this app. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2024-12-08, version 2.3.3* App doesn’t scrobble tracks even with the premium version, a scam ### 1/5 — No warning option for when scrobbles are submitted *2024-09-15, version 2.3.3* I was trying out various apps that might replace the Last.fm app for me to get more accurate scrobbles (something that would fill in the album artist correctly and not as just the track artists). But I’ve been using that app fine to submit scrobbles up to the present time. Now, what I didn’t expect was for this app to automatically submit scrobbles from my library to Last.fm for the past two weeks without asking me. I’ve already submitted them with the other app, so there’s quite a bit of double scrobbles I have to delete now… and these Trax scrobbles still incorrectly use the track artist as the album artist. I’ve been using the premium version for over a year and I just ran into an issue. Recently, I noticed my all time most listened tracks have changed and now have significantly fewer listens. After many refreshes, logging out, and reinstalling, the problem persists. My best guess at the cause is that last.fm erroneously scrobbled these replayed songs as occurring at the same time over the years. I believe Trax has a problem tracking songs that were scrobbled “at the same time,” even though last.fm considers each play unique. Furthermore, if one track ends at a certain time, and the next track is so short that it ends in the same minute, Trax will lose one of these two scrobbles. I believe this is an issue with last.fm and not Trax, but is there a way to force Trax’s play count to match with last.fm’s? Thank you for continuing to support this app and listening to reviews! ### 5/5 — Excellent Scrobbling App!!! *2023-05-24* UI is nice and loaded with options such as the artwork collage share (game changer from my old reliable Eavescrob). The developer is hyper intune with support as well. Today’s update was a result of a bug reported with background scrobbles and the turnaround to a fix was amazingly quick. You’ve got a customer for life. ### 5/5 — Finally, an app that doesn’t crash *2022-06-24, version 2.1.13* The official last.fm app kept crashing, even after reinstalling (I’ve read this is due to animated album covers). I then tried Finale, but it kept crashing when I tried to connect to my Apple Music. This app has finally solved the problem. Developer is responsive to suggestions and has made some great recent updates.
