### 2/5 — Un usable

*2026-04-23, version 10.3.1*

A lot of the main menus cover half the text won’t go away. Can’t even read the options or cycle through them properly because the menu to go back in the way.

### 2/5 — Won’t update

*2026-04-18, version 10.3.1*

Just got the Traxxas Bluetooth module and connected it to my transmitter but for some reason it won’t work. It keeps asking me to do an update and I have done the same update three times now and it keeps asking me to do another update. And that’s really annoying because I had to spend 35 dollars on a little pice of plastic with a light on it an 8th the size of your hand. But over all it is a really good app and it’s Traxxas can fix this it would be really cool app ( they would also make a ton of money from everybody buying the module ). But I still love Traxxas and love a lot of there RC’s. :)

### 2/5 — Broken on current OS

*2026-03-23, version 10.3.1*

Current version is absolutely broken on current os - changes don’t seem to make any difference in handling back to the remote. Design wise there are UI elements blocking labels and controls. Was always finicky, but this version of the app makes the link module a wasted purchase

### 3/5 — Good app, needs a UI bug fixed

*2026-01-13, version 10.3.1*

The app is very handy to set up custom profiles. There is a bug on the drive effects screen that cuts off the top line.

### 3/5 — My transmitter wouldn’t connect.

*2025-12-23, version 10.3.1*

When i downloaded the app it looked promising. I selected my rc car model which is a traxxas drag slash. When i tried pairing the transmitter to my phone i realized that I didn’t have the pairing button on the back like the rest. I opened the back of it and still found nothing.after various attempts and reading the instructions on how to link it and multiple YouTube tutorials i eventually gave up after an hour. If anyone can help me figure this out please tell me.

### 3/5 — October update messed up some things

*2025-10-29, version 10.3.1*

The update from late October caused some problems with screens being displayed in proper size.

### 4/5 — Almost great

*2025-09-28, version 10.3.0*

Very cool app that lets you do many vehicle adjustments you can't normally do and the interface works well. I just wish you could customize the gauge cluster more. More gauge faces, custom pointers, and custom backgrounds would rock.

### 3/5 — Update your app it’s not 2012 no more

*2024-12-31, version 10.0.6*

I feel like the app is from 2012

### 4/5 — Decent but can majorly improve for crawlers, trail trucks and scalpers.

*2024-04-24, version 9.4.3*

Works as advertised, pretty easy setup and straightforward to use.
My issues with it are just personal preference. For example with the trx4, or other multi channel trucks, as well as running the pro lighting systems, I feel the dashboard could use a little more direct functionality.
Examples, would be being able to add switches direct in the dashboard for switching servos between normal and reversed. (Diff lockers) yes I know there's a switch on my TX, but many times I want to lock just my rear diff. But I'm set up as full open, front lock, full lock.
And change up the lighting controls so we can switch between blinkers or hazards on and off without having to pull the body and push the button on the module itself. Even just being able to switch lighting from the 3 presets right on the dashboard would be nice.

### 3/5 — New update is bad

*2023-10-22, version 9.3.3*

The new update has bricked my transmitter for my Trx4 …. Had no problems before until the latest update and now the controller no longer turns on or links with the reciever

### 4/5 — Great App, but a few odd things

*2023-08-21, version 9.3.2*

So I got the Link module a few days ago, for a few reasons. First, so I could set the steaming endpoints on my models (because when I try to use the TQi programming system on the transmitter, it makes the servo go haywire. Second, so I could run my models from the same transmitter without having to deal with the aforementioned TQi programming system. And lastly, so I could put telemetry on my Hoss to keep track of the motor temperature on hot days, since I don’t have the spare money to burn up a motor.

I haven’t gotten the telemetry yet, so I can’t attest to how well it works, but so far the experience has been pretty good. The steering endpoints set without much problem, and it’s cool that I can now fiddle with different settings that were unavailable before (like throttle trim).

My one issue I have with the app is the fact that there is no picture for the Bigfoot. I have two models: A 2 1/2 year old Traxxas Bigfoot, and a practically brand new Traxxas Hoss. Every other vehicle (including the discontinued E-Maxx) have their own picture, but for the Bigfoot there is nothing. It’s really weird and something I hope Traxxas will fix.

### 1/5 — Bring back the original

*2023-08-16, version 9.3.2*

I want the old version of the app, the one that suits my remote with the docking station.

### 1/5 — ESC Bricked

*2023-07-15, version 9.3.2*

Forced me to update VXL6s and failed 2 of 2. Now I have to acceleration. Keeps failing, so basically my $600 truck is useless now.

### 3/5 — No TRX4M Support?

*2023-06-16, version 9.3.1*

App works OK, I’ve used it on my TRX4 with no problems but I’ve tried to use it on my new TRX4M and the model isn’t recognised by the app! Come on Traxxas!! The TRX4M has been out since last year and it’s still not on the app?

### 1/5 — Connection

*2023-06-01, version 9.3.1*

This app is in need of a lot of work, updated and now won’t link up😡

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bricked my XMAXX ESC

*2026-04-23, version 10.3.1*

This app is useless and bricked my xmaxx esc during the update. I thought the esc will break while bashing. I was wrong, the app broke it while the car was sitting in the garage. Now my esc was stuck on infinite update loop!

### 1/5 — Can wreck your experience

*2026-04-08, version 10.3.1*

This app needs to be fixed it can absolutely ruin your driving experience, you would think with all the money Traxxas makes they would put some time into their app

### 1/5 — Junk transmitters

*2026-04-07, version 10.3.1*

Just team up with spektrum and start putting them in the boxes. The factory tq remotes and app are junk. I’ve had to convert all my traxxas cars transmitters and receivers.

### 1/5 — Won’t updated

*2026-03-22, version 10.3.1*

Stuck in a loop, just says update after you just updated. If the goal is to stop everyone from buying Traxxas products, they should achieve their goal in 2 years with this product.

### 1/5 — This apps glitchy and full of bugs

*2025-11-05, version 10.3.1*

It worked for the first day, but then the drive affects is zoomed in and I can’t see the TSM at the top. I contacted Traxxas and they want me to send truck and controller in, but that wouldn’t work because I’d have to send in my phone as well. It’s the app not my phone. I’m on a iPhone 17 Pro Max with the newest update iOS 26.1.

### 1/5 — Xmaxx receiver update broken

*2025-04-14, version 10.1.2*

My Xmaxx receiver won’t update; it forces you to update and doesn’t allow you to tap anything in the app until you do. Since then it refuses to update for the past year even after trying all the methods traxxas support has given me. I update, it finishes, it immediately tells me I need the same update… for a year. I pressed “disable” on the update screen after having no telemetry for a year and now the receiver is impossible to update… you can’t force it by manually going to the update screen and refreshing as it doesn’t pop up after pressing disable and now the in app dashboard doesn’t populate. Everything stays as 0 and it’s impossible to fix (apparently). TLDR; this app has a built in button that makes it impossible to update in the future. (which is for some reason required even if everything works fine without it). Updating is broken. It worked fine and didn’t NEED an update but now it’s broken.

### 1/5 — Beware of new releases

*2025-02-05, version 10.1*

Every release seems to correct one problem and create two. The latest release is so full of bugs Traxxas Support suggested I stop using the software and go back to pushing the set button until the next release is available.

### 1/5 — Ok app

*2024-07-09, version 10*

I have a traxxas TRX 4 and I hooked everything up and I have very hot summer days about 110 a day to 100 and the battery voltage and speed and the motor temperature would not work…

I also I have very decked out trx4 it may be because that I have the long arm kit and lights and costum bulky bumper I built my self.

If I was you don’t get the app if you need theses things things.. NOW if you need it for races and all of that get it it’s spot on and it’s not very expensive

### 1/5 — X-maxx 8s esc update 1of2 failed

*2024-02-27, version 9.4*

Updated only 1 of two updates, left my xmaxx with all green and red lights flashing, unable to do anything but steer. It kept giving me fail to update errors, be warned… if you update and only does half the update ur screwed. I’ll be calling them in the morning to hopefully solve this, then I’ll update my current review & hopefully tell ya if it was solved & how.

### 1/5 — Updates cause your RC to fail

*2023-12-31, version 9.4*

When this app causes your RC to quit working, remove the Bluetooth TQi module from your transmitter and your RC will work again.

After the app updated the firmware on my TQi module in the transmitter, the RC no longer worked. ESC (VXL3) was flashing throttle trim error, receiver was flashing low voltage error. I contacted traxxas support and they said I needed to buy another receiver for my RC, but I could use their “lifetime warranty” to buy another one. They offered no other suggestion other than to spend more money with them. There is no way to get an old version of the app or an old firmware version according to traxxas. I removed the Bluetooth TQi chip from my transmitter and my RC worked again… indicating the problem is with traxxas firmware and not the receiver. Hopefully traxxas doesn’t sue me for this review like they do other people that review their products.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Been working good!!

*2026-06-24, version 10.4.0*

I don't know why other people say it doesn't work. It works with my.Trx4 bronco with The traxxas TQI remote, it has worked seamlessly. Most others say it doesn't work. It works very good. even after updating it, it worked perfectly. which other say it does not work.

### 5/5 — make a video game

*2025-06-11, version 10.2*

so i got my traxxas TRX4 chevy and it’s red please make a game that’s freeroam

### 5/5 — Traxxas Link app

*2025-04-04, version 10.1.2*

The Traxxas Link app is awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome

### 5/5 — Works great on the Maxx V2

*2024-07-10, version 10*

I had some issues with my servo acting up after initial startup. Figured it might be voltage related, the Traxxas link was easy to install, updates available on the controller and TSM was done rather quick, fixed my issue with the firmware updates. I was able to see a few info, temp, voltage, speed/rpm. Plenty for my needs and works great with the app.

### 5/5 — Big difference

*2022-08-30, version 9.2*

Just got my Maxx 4s and I thought it was fast for a 4s but now with these custom settings I gained 5-8 mph works great!!!!

### 5/5 — Honestly so good

*2022-03-10, version 8.5*

Honestly I think it’s pretty good but the only downside is it doesn’t come with the X max and I have it so it’s like $20 so that’s the only let down so yeah

### 5/5 — Apple Watch support please

*2021-08-19, version 8.4.1*

Good app, but would be even better if I could see live data on my Apple Watch.
Thank you

### 5/5 — THIS IS AWESOME

*2021-02-09, version 8.2.1*

I love using Traxxas link cuz you can update your car or truck at any time and it’s super easy to use and worked on an iPhone 4

### 5/5 — Traxxas link app

*2021-01-13, version 8.2.1*

That’s probably the best app for setting your endpoints, inverting channels and telemetry, I’ve had Traxxas receiver and transmitter for a year and I love the easy model switch
