## What is Treadly?

The coach that tells you why.

Every plan app adjusts. Treadly is the running coach that tells you why each run is there, puts every change to you before it makes it, and keeps a record of how its calls held up. The way a human coach would, on your iPhone and Apple Watch.

Every run has a reason.
Today's run says why it exists. Trimmed to 4.2 miles at readiness 36. Eased twenty seconds a mile for the heat. Every number that comes from the research opens to the paper behind it, and the week header shows the climb cap out loud. Readiness comes from your sleep, HRV, and resting heart rate in Apple Health.

Coach calls.
A bad night, a heat wave, a missed run, a sore knee. The coach proposes a change and waits. Accept or undo. Hurt, sick, or life keeps your streak safe. If a change would be too small to notice, it does not ask at all.

A coach on the record.
Every call and your answer go on the record. "You took the ease-day call 8 times. Next runs averaged B+." Called vs ran grades the coach's own pace calls against what you ran. Your race confidence comes with a finish window that narrows as race day nears, and locks two weeks out so you cannot cram.

Someone can see your run. Free.
Add up to three safety contacts. When you run, they can follow a live page that opens in any browser, no app and no account. Slide for SOS on your phone, your watch, or the Lock Screen and they hear first, with your location and your local emergency number one tap away. If your phone goes silent, they get a text, and one more when you are back. On race day, make a link from your race letter and send it to anyone: they see where you are on the course and your projected finish.

The run itself.
Treadly records the run, on your watch or just your phone. Two real voices in your ear, never a robot. Pace and heart-rate zones on your wrist, reps counted as you run them, and auto-pause that waits for you. If you live on Strava, Garmin, or COROS, connect once and it all flows in.

Plans for any race.
5K to marathon, from your pace today. Compare coaching approaches with real numbers before you commit. Strength days live on the plan too, timed from your wrist. New to running? Your first month on the ladder is free.

Shoes, free forever.
Every pair gets a role. Treadly spreads the miles so shoes wear out on schedule instead of by surprise, and tells you when one is done.

Run with people.
Send a run to a friend and it lands on both plans, your long run included. They get two weeks of Pro when they join. Pair with one partner who sees the shape of your week and hears when a run goes by.

What is free, what is Pro.
Shoes, readiness, the science library, and safety contacts are free. The coach's calls, the record, inviting a friend, and a partner are Pro, after a 7-day trial that starts with your first run. $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year. No card to start.

Treadly depends on your phone's signal and battery and is not a substitute for emergency services. Coaching is grounded in published training science and is not medical advice.

### 5/5 — PR incoming

*2026-09-12*

Haven’t ran in the last few months, decided to give this a try to prep for a race. Loving it so far!

The plan feature is solid.

### 5/5 — Motivating, easy to use, and actually makes me want to run

*2026-09-11*

This is by far one of the best running apps I have ever used. It’s easy to navigate, motivating without being overwhelming, and genuinely helps make running Fillmore enjoyable and consistent.

I especially appreciate how thoughtfully designed it is. Everything fills intuitive useful, and focus on helping you actually get out the door and run. This is the only app I’ve ever shared with multiple friends.

### 5/5 — This is what I’ve been looking for

*2026-09-09*

Ok, it’s about time I find an app that can both log my runs and strength training workouts. I really enjoy the coach feature which gives Runna a RUN for its money.

Feature Request: Can we allow route sharing next?

**Developer response:** You want route share? You get route share! Keep an eye out on the next couple updates.

### 5/5 — Awesome app for running

*2026-08-08*

I’ve just started my running journey and Treadly has been super useful. It’s helped me build a training plan as I look to run my first 5k, and has a bunch of cool features like training plans and even a way to track the wear of my shoes. I’m getting in better shape, thanks to this app!!

### 5/5 — Not bad for the price

*2026-08-06*

Training for a marathon in October and I’ve been using Treadly for training. So far, it’s just as good as Runna for just a fraction of the price.

### 5/5 — I like it

*2026-08-04*

I just use the free version and it’s pretty good. It helps me add some variety to my runs

### 5/5 — Just started running

*2026-08-01*

I just started running and this app has helped me stay consistent and work running into my life.

### 5/5 — Bye, Runna

*2026-07-10*

Treadly is already as good (if not better) than Runna, but way less expensive… definitely canceling my Runna subscription

### 5/5 — Easy shoe tracking and sharing!

*2026-06-25*

Less than a minute to add and link my shoes! Great for avid runners with multiple pairs and types of shoes.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.9.1 — 2026-09-13

Bug fixes and UX improvements

### 3.9.0 — 2026-09-11

Safety contacts. Three people who can see you're out. They tap a link and watch the run in any browser. No app to install, no account to make. Free, for everyone.

SOS. One slide, from your phone, your watch, or the Lock Screen. Ten seconds to cancel. After that your contacts have your location, and the local emergency number is one tap away.

Lost contact. If your phone goes quiet mid-run, your contacts hear about it without you doing anything. They hear again when you're back.

Race day link. Build it from your race letter, add your bib, send it to anyone. They see where you are on the course and when to expect you at the finish.

A partner. One person who sees the shape of your week and hears when a run goes by. You see theirs. Not your pace, not your distance, not where you went. Your weeks score against each other on your own plans, so a marathon block and a first 5K are an even fight, and the rest day your plan asked for counts as showing up. Sunday says who took the week. Both of you need Treadly Pro.

Bring someone on the long one. Not just the easy Tuesday. They get two weeks of Pro for turning up.

The coach tells you why. Every eased run comes with the reason, and there's now a record of how those calls held up.

### 3.8.0 — 2026-09-08

Share a run as a sticker. Pick your own photo, and Treadly sets your distance, pace, and time over it in the app's display face, with three layouts and three inks. In Instagram Stories the sticker stays its own layer, so you can move it to where it belongs. Interval runs draw each rep against its target.

Fixes: a tempo run on the watch starts with its warm-up again. A finished tempo or interval run shows the pace targets it was run to, beside the heart rate zones. The watch's distance bar is bolder and marks the midpoint and every mile or kilometre.

### 3.7.0 — 2026-09-01

Strength that fits your gear. Tell Treadly what you own, a couple of bells, bands, a pull-up bar, and your strength sessions are built from it: the right moves, a weight to grab, and a matched pair before two-bell work shows up.

Warm up and cool down, right where you need them. A five-minute warm-up before your run and slow holds after, on your watch with a timer for every stretch. Optional every time, and never counted against your plan.

Your wrist got stronger too. Timed holds take over the screen with a countdown ring, rest timers keep ticking with your wrist down, and the weight to use is a chip you can read mid-set: heavy, medium, or light.

Also in 3.7: every exercise now has an illustration, the Rotation tab is now Gear with your shoes and setup side by side, days with a run and strength show both at once, and a session sheet that shows each move before you start.

### 3.6.0 — 2026-08-26

Learn your plan in your first week. Five short lessons appear on the Coach tab, one control a day: swap a run, adjust for how you feel, move your week around. Each lesson points at the real control.

Miss a run and the next morning shows your week reshaped around it. One tap keeps you on plan.

Your watch reads recovery after a run. That number now lands on your phone too, on Today and in run detail, with your trend over time.

Also in 3.6: your first run gets a named day and time when you commit to a plan, rest days can offer tonight's session instead, new runners start with a short calibration run so paces come from a real run, and the free week is clearer about when it starts and what stays free.
