A few months back all the light bulbs stopped working for a week and since then this keeps happening. ### 2/5 — Frequent resets make them too annoying to use *2025-12-17, version 1.1.8* Sometimes it will be a month before they start flashing again or the color is off, sometimes a few weeks, sometimes a few days. Often I have to log back in, and then it takes forever to re-add each bulb. Concept is cool, app is bad, and I will never use anything from them again. ### 4/5 — Use Tuya Skill instead of TreatLife skill *2025-11-27, version 1.1.8* It’s inconvenient to have to use the app to control all my lightbulbs and smart plugs. Multiple attempts to install TreatLife skill in Alexa App failed. I spent more than 3 hours troubleshooting with ChatGPT only to read a review that says to use TUYA skill instead. It worked immediately. Disappointed there was no official communication from TreatLife. It would save their customers time and aggravation. ### 2/5 — Goodbye Alexa :-( *2025-11-27, version 1.1.8* This used to work great with Amazon Alexa but somehow after the recent update that Alexa did they obviously didn’t consider contacting 3rd party apps that use Alexa services of software compatibility. I sure hope they get this fixed soon, or else I have a lot of new switches to buy and rewire. #notatreatlife ### 2/5 — Stopped working with Alexa *2025-11-26, version 1.1.8* My TreatLife lightbulbs suddenly quit working with Alexa. I’ve tried disabling and re-enabling the skill. I can still turn it on and off with the TreatLife app but it’s not cooperating with Alexa. I had no problem with this until a couple of days ago. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work with Alexa *2025-11-25, version 1.1.8* Many other people are having the same issue with Alexa connectivity. It worked for a few months and after an update it stopped working with Alexa. Did all the troubleshooting as recommended, and nothing has worked. The Wake up and Go to Sleep functions are so ridiculous, I don’t freaking care if I want my lights dimmed or not. Just give me the option to tell it when to turn on my lights, then turn off. It’s such a simple concept and yet you missed it. I have to keep shutting off the lights manually. After seeing all the recent reviews, why are you guys not doing anything about this?! I’m a UX designer and I’m shocked at how horrible this is!!! ### 1/5 — Broken app *2026-06-10, version 1.1.8* The child lock stopped working and they haven’t fixed it in over a year. ### 1/5 — Not very good *2026-02-27, version 1.1.8* Frequently loses connection with Wi-Fi, which means that you open the app in your iPhone and you’re wanting to turn on your string lights in the backyard, but there is no response because it is not connecting to the Wi-Fi. I don’t think I have ever seen any app updates. It’s very frustrating and I don’t recommend buying it. We are going to simply replace the outlet that the string lights are plugged into with this TreatLife utilities, dongle, and replace the outlet with a smart outlet and throw away this TreatLife utilities dongle. We bought it on Amazon. It is our second one. The first one did the same thing. Now this one is doing the same thing. I recently installed an outdoor duplex TreatLife plug which worked great. Yesterday everything quit working with Alexa. I can still control everything with the TreatLife app. I disabled the skill and when I try to re-link the skill Alexa tells me it can’t link and try again later. Thank me Later ### 5/5 — Love the Easy Setup *2025-01-08, version 1.1.7* What can I say, I bought these for my ease and comfort. I tried the Phillips lights that has the Wiz application. I hated them. It took too long to add and re-add. I kept getting download errors. These TreatLife lights I bought on Amazon was worth the money plus Amazon had an $8 dollar coupon to be added to the regular price which brought the 4 box of lights down to 21.99 which is reasonable considering how much I paid for each Phillips box. Which was $12 for one lightbulb, so I’m pretty satisfied. The ease of adding them to the Alexa application brought me joy. These lights are a 10/10 must buy. Now please be careful ensure that your router is setup on 2.4ghz not 5ghz or they won’t add to the application. Problem is on a Saturday recently the app didn’t work all items were offline. So I reset router and internet to see if that worked. It did for that day then the next day or so it seemed to be offline one or two items and today it was a handful again while I was away from home. When I got home I was going to retrain as the instructions requested but when I opened the app in front of the first device I was going to reset ALL items changed from offline to online as the app opened. I asked my wife to check her app as she was not home and it showed all offline. :0/ As I told her 80% of the time we are home using the app so not a real big deal but she wanted to turn on some lights since we were both away from the house… Oh well I figure this will be a glitch that is discovered and fixed. It had old style standard switches, plugs, etc. Well by sheer accident my wife purchased the first 4PK of single pole switches. Curiosity got the best of me and the first couple of switches installed took me a lot longer than expected but after those were installed and programmed the process became much faster and smoother. That’s was 2 years or better and today we have almost 70 percent of upstairs and downstairs interior and exterior light switches changed to Treat Life smart switches and have multiple outlets in numerous rooms as well. We’ve also changed our HVAC controller to a smart controller pad. All of our exterior lights Front, Back and left and right aside motion lights are all Treat Life switches with Scheduled on/off programs setup. I wish Treat Life would send me some products to use in the house, mostly for our upcoming tv/movie room and new bathroom we are about to be starting ourselves, which we’ve been doing continuous renovations ourselves and downstairs will have all the Treat Life products that’s Available for needed applications.
