### 4/5 — Great app

### 5/5 — Useful and informative

A handy guide to help identify the trees I come across, with the facility to record where and when I see them. The best one I’ve come across.

### 4/5 — Good

*2021-05-25, version 9.0*

The good stuff:
The quiz
The image quality
The ease of use

Things to improve:
Add in common British species that are currently missing, eg grey willow, creeping willow, English elm etc.
Make the quiz fill the whole window to see images better
Allow quiz option to mix all categories (leaves, fruit, flowers)

Overall, I’m glad I bought this, thanks to the developers for their nature apps

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unimpressed

*2024-08-18, version 9.0*

I could have used the woodland trust app for free. It alludes to being able to easily identify a tree. This is not the case and for the three trees I’m trying to identify it came up with a long list stating 50% match. Unhelpful to say the least.

### 1/5 — Picture

*2022-09-26, version 9.0*

You maybe under the impression that this app uses pictures to identify leaves as I thought. As far as I can see it doesn’t instead you have to fill in an identifier page then click the arrow and maybe get the tree. Very disappointed with it myself wasted money.

### 1/5 — What a complete waste of money! Get PlantNet, it is way better! And it’s free….

*2021-09-14, version 9.0*

Waste of £3.99.

Get the free app PlantNet! Way better.

### 1/5 — Mauvaise appli, demande de remboursement

*2016-11-01*

1ère recherche : ginkgo biloba ; résultat : "non trouvé"
2ème recherche : liquidambar ; résultat : "non trouvé"
3ème recherche : remboursement, comment on fait ?!

### 1/5 — Ohne Update verschenktes Geld!

*2010-09-10*

Die Grundidee ist gut, der Aufbau könnte verbessert werden - aber vor allem sind derzeit viel zu wenige Bäume in der Datenbank. In dieser Form habe ich mein Geld verschenkt und hoffe auf das angekündigte Update!

### 1/5 — Barely begun

*2009-10-24*

There are some nice, but small, photos. Covers only a few trees. Not sure how many, but seemingly less than a dozen. I hope there is continued development.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t have photo based ID

*2022-06-02, version 9.0*

I expected this to be able to ID trees by inputting a photo but it doesn’t work like that. You have to put in the details yourself

### 2/5 — Abandonware?

*2022-05-01, version 9.0*

Very dated low resolution interface, with not a very full tree catalogue, wouldn’t be surprised if this app got removed by Apple in their upcoming cull of apps not updated in a long time.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t really meet expectations for a paid app

*2021-03-25*

This app works but I’m surprised it ranks so highly in U.K. downloads and has such positive reviews.

The good: works offline, has I think all the U.K. ‘naturalised’ trees.

The not-so-good: loads of common trees not included, poor low-res interface, minimal images that are not always that good and (crucially for a paid app) no sketch drawing like you would expect and practically always get in any quality field guide, minimal information about trees and information that is included is unlikely to be of interest to many users like how the wood burns.

I wanted something like a Collins pocket guide on my phone but this isn’t as good as that. Debatable value at £4. £1 would be more realistic.

### 2/5 — Don’t Waste Your Money on this App,

*2020-07-05*

Only includes native species. Which means this app simply lists a few tree species with very limited information on each (literally a few sentences). Useless for identification while outdoors because so much of what you will encounter will not be listed. This app had so much potential, but in the end it has been lazily developed with the only goal of turning in a profit. You would be better off with a book or the internet. I am so glad I resisted the temptation of buying one of their bundles. Very disappointed!!

### 5/5 — Perfect companion

*2025-04-06, version 9.0*

So useful to have and ideal for the country walk. Identifying trees is now so simple thanks to this app.

### 5/5 — Handy app

*2025-01-26*

This is a very handy app when you are out on a walk and find a tree you wish to identify. Being UK trees, you are not bombarded with irrelevant entries, which makes this app very user friendly.

### 5/5 — Really useful

*2024-12-27, version 9.0*

Big help when checking wood for my log burner

### 5/5 — Handy App

*2024-07-22, version 9.0*

Great for those difficult to identify trees. Makes it really easy, with loads of informationReally handy app

### 5/5 — Treely Useful

*2024-06-10*

Does what it says, would be handy if you could use the phone camera for identification but maybe down the line, means you use your brain a bit more anyway!

### 5/5 — Great guide in your pocket

*2023-04-03, version 9.0*

I bought a suite of these apps for £10. Great value for money, I love the Apps.
