Did you see the in-app instructions? If it is hard to follow along in-app, there are videos of how to set ringtones/notification sounds with Garage Band on YouTube. It becomes easy once you learn it. ### 1/5 — Zero Stars *2024-01-27* No preview sounds. Have to download a different app to use the ringtones. Wasted $4. Save your money. Don’t be a fool like I was. **Developer response:** You need to tap on the sound to hear the preview. You need to be connected to the internet when you do. It works fine. You just need to use the Garage Band app from Apple to set the sounds on your device. This is the only way without iTunes with your computer connected to your phone. This is actually a bargain. iTunes sells the sounds for $1.99 each. ### 1/5 — Not worth the 3.99 for free ringtones and difficulty in making ringtones. *2024-01-21* I thought this would help in creating ringtones for various programs and sounds. The interface is just a front end and the macros and directions don’t work for me on my iPhone running iOS 17. **Developer response:** It works fine. You need to use the Garage Band app from Apple to set the sounds on your device. This is the only way without iTunes with your computer connected to your phone. It sounds last for seconds and they appear to be from the original series. The categories are confusing. I tried to get a refund and of course it’s not eligible for a refund. This app is a rip off. **Developer response:** Thank you! You can change categories by pressing the icons on top that show the types of sounds. From what you wrote it seems you only scratched the surface with the first page. When you attempt to email for support, that link is not working. Garage band icon appears. Clicked. Opens to a page that does not offer the icon to long hold, it opens the DAW and no option to rename or manipulate. A box opens and is instantly covered by another dialogue box saying the operation cannot be completed. No other option. You cannot complete step 2. I tried enough times to realize this is a failure as far as I can see. If I am proven to be mistaken I will recant this. As it stands I feel that I was ripped off. **Developer response:** Your problem is with Garage Band, not my app. My app provides the sounds to download. I included a tutorial, but you can find tutorials on YouTube that will guide you in a better visual way that you can follow along with. After you get the steps down, you'll find it quite easy. Did you have internet to download the sounds when you tried? ### 1/5 — Waste of Four Bucks *2026-01-31* Unless you’re an expert at using the Garage Band App, don’t bother downloading Trek:Sounds. It frustrated me for three days, while I asked people more tech savvy than I to try to help me figure it out. They could not. I ultimately deleted the difficult app and took the loss. Thank goodness it was only a $4 loss. **Developer response:** Sorry for the bad experience. The app is a scam. Pre sound doesn’t work at all. Such a big waste. **Developer response:** The preview sounds are working. Be sure your volume is up, do-not-disturb is off, you're not connected to anything like earphones you can't hear, and that you have a data connection. ### 1/5 — Funktioniert nicht *2026-01-04* Leider 3.99 zum Fenster rausgeworfen. Schrott!!! **Developer response:** If you couldn't understand how to use it, I would be happy to send you the instructions by mail to use the translation options there. It's the only way, so this is set up as smooth as I can make it for iOS. I wish I could make it a simple one-tap apply like I do on Android. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-07-16* I literally never leave reviews and I’ve been on the iPhone since the first one, but I wish I could get my money back. This is literally the worst app I have ever come across. It’s so difficult to hear the sounds. You have to do some long process with GarageBand. And the sounds are quite literally nothing like the Star Trek sound. Someone has tried to use their synth and remake the sound and they sound terrible. How do I get my money back? **Developer response:** Thank you. For the first problem, turn your volume up. The sounds are loud. As for Garage band, that is an Apple app, and the only method to set sounds on your device without your computer. The sounds are accurate. Also, if the tutorial in the settings isn't clear, let me know and I'll go into more detail in an email to help you get it. ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2024-05-22* So complicated for something so simple and the app wont even let you hear the audio clips before download to you have to download 150 clips one at a time to find what you’re looking for. Spent an hour screwing around with it before giving up, realizing having my phone make some trek sounds is not worth my time. **Developer response:** Press the play button to preview the sounds, and make sure your volume is up and not connected to an audio device you can't hear. This App is brilliant and a MUST for Star Trek fans … and it’s an absolute giveaway. Worth every penny and definitely worth 5 stars. I’ve always loved the noise effects from the First Star Trek series and now I have them on my text messages, email’s etc on my iPhone. It was a doddle to download and set up via Garage Band and went seamlessly into my Ringtones, but you do need to rename them before saving to Ringtones, otherwise they all just list as Treksound. ### 5/5 — Great trek sound app *2025-01-21* The app works exactly as described :) Read the instructions folks! Like how do I set the sound to say unauthorized access or something?
