I downloaded it again recently and it doesn’t work. The play screen is half off phone screen like the aspect ratio is wrong. I like the game graphics ### 4/5 — More factions... *2012-07-25, version 1.0.0* I have always been a fan of trenches, but this game could be much more improved if there were other different factions from WW1 (e.g. Austria-Hungary, Russia, and America) and if the AI settings turned up the heat and actually made it harder to win. I would buy the first one for my iPad again but can't find it on iTunes. That was the best part of the game. Please make an endless mode for the second one please or bring the first one back please ### 2/5 — Big disappointment *2012-03-17, version 1.0.0* I enjoyed the first game and thought there was great potential for a sequel. Well, I still do but EA failed to deliver. The single player is unbelievably boring. There is almost zero variation from one level to the next. The AI is pathetic. The maps are super long. Combat only ever takes place on about a tenth of the map. Most of the time is spent waiting while your units trudge along an empty battlefield. Despite all the new units, you'll never need anything other than the basic riflemen to defeat the AI. Multiplayer sounds great but I've never been able to find an opponent! All this and still not a single update! ### 3/5 — Good game, but.... *2012-02-26, version 1.0.0* Trenches is a fun game that can't get old but it has two problems. One, the tanks need to move faster, and two, there needs to be a zombie horde skirmish gameplay like trenches for the ipod touch had. Other than that the game is great. It would be nice if a zombie gameplay was added to trenches II or make a Stenches app like there is for iPod touch. A must have soon!! ### 3/5 — Decent game, needs work though *2012-02-18, version 1.0.0* I think the game concept and gameplay is rather decent and fun. However, please make it easier to select a particular unit, as well as distinguish the different units, whether that is making the unit icons larger or enabling a zoom feature, because at the moment the icons are ridiculously small and it is near impossible to select the unit you actually want to select, or see which unit is which. Also, it would be nice if there were a mini-map at the top of the screen to see how far along you are so you have a rough idea. ### 4/5 — Very Detailed *2012-02-11, version 1.0.0* This is a really good game but I still like TrenchesVS better. I think it's cool that you choose which side you want to be on. (German, French, or British) You can unlock achievements and buy perks but it is kind of hard. I give it a 4. ### 2/5 — Ugggg *2012-01-29, version 1.0.0* Come on ea the first one was fun...this one is worse The bad...no rotation in game, repediative, in this version you can rarely hit the people with air attacks the delay is just to long I went an entire campaign and never hit anyone, same strategy on each mission, advance..hide..build out..advance..to easy. When playing each country troops are the same so once you beat no reason to play again...was hoping for more from number 2. Good..fun, good story, first time thru is ok but repediative. Worth .99 but I would pay more if it was better. Hoping for an update ### 3/5 — Eh. *2012-01-16, version 1.0.0* This game is decent, but has a lot of flaws. The levels are needlessly lengthy and the AI is weak and stupid making for a boring game. On the positive, the rail gun is fun to fire, and thats about it. Unless there is a major redesign save ur money unless you enjoy spending your time painfully waiting for your money to accrue just to easily win levels that take too long to win. ### 3/5 — Ok *2012-01-08, version 1.0.0* Not terrible, but not great. Either I'm awesome or this game is way too easy. You can pretend there's some strategy involved, but after a while it becomes obvious that all you really need to do is constantly move your troops forward. The enemy only attacks 1 with one unit at a time and doesn't advance very rapidly. Works fine on the iPad 2. Worth an iTunes gift card dollar, not real money though. ### 2/5 — Boring , but has potential *2012-01-05, version 1.0.0* Like most every other review it is boring after say 5rounds. The pc opponent sends the same 2 units out in the beging and has zero strategy. After you play this say 5-10 rounds you will completally dominate the game period. No excitment. The levels just only get longer and slightly harder to navigate. I could see it being great to play a human that can think up a strategy. If there are chess games on the ipad then i dont see why there are not different varients in this with more difficulty. Well maybe they can give the computer opponent some brains and it might get a 4 or 5 star. I can't even get any level 2 upgrades because every single time I save my points THEY DISAPPEAR! I even bought your other Trenches game in a hope to see it only in that version. Wow ### 1/5 — What is up with multiplayer? *2012-05-01, version 1.0.0* This game when working is amazing, but in the last month, I haven't been able to connect to a single multiplayer match. The servers are clearly messed up. This computer is far too easy to beat to enjoy playing without multiplayer. With multiplayer working this game is a 5-star but without it, don't even waste your time. ### 1/5 — Stupid AI makes a great game dumb *2012-03-09, version 1.0.0* I loved the 1st version, but this new version has terrible AI even when set to commander. They spent to much time making it pretty and not enough making it challenging like the old version. The AI in the first game would kick your but, this games AI seems stuck on stupid. Hopefully this is a bug and not a feature. ### 1/5 — Rather sad AI *2011-12-29, version 1.0.0* After about 10 levels, I have yet to come upon anything even remotely resembling a challenge. The AI is really pathetic. It just keeps sending the same weak infantry at me. There is no reason to capture or upgrade trenches, just send about 3 or 4 basic units towards the other end and you win. Kind of a let down. Does the first Trenches even exist anymore? Can't find it anywhere. I've heard it was much better, but alas. ### 1/5 — Poor *2011-12-21, version 1.0.0* A long and complex tutorial is stupid. If the player is held in the tutorial the game is even more stupid. Tutorials must e simple and allow the player to quick enter the game. Asking the player to know a lot in a step by step tutorial is stupid and even worst is call your player stupid. The web version of this game, or from where this game was clone, had a simple tutorial and the player started playing within the first minute, not after a looooong and boring bootcamp stage where you just move troops around. Please hire a better game designer who can make simple and intuitive tutorials and make the player jump into the game very quick. ### 1/5 — AI horrible *2011-12-18, version 1.0.0* I've never felt compelled to write a review till now... I had first version of trenches and loved it.... It was a challenge to beat but u literally have to be a moron not to beat this on hardest level... If u can't make computer smart at least throw more enemies to make it hard... The only thing that could be improved is the AI, it should stay in trenches, and charge when it has a lot of men. I love the new system of perks, and that it's veriable on levels on the field. I love the new units. And french out of paris. Cant really fix this but if you could this game would be just that much better. Other than these small updates this is a great game. Defiantly worth five stars. ### 5/5 — Best Strategy Game for iPad! *2011-12-21, version 1.0.0* I've been cautious w/ EA b/c so many of their games crash constantly but Trenches 2 has so far been a great experience. I like it more than Civ Rev. I even like it as much as the best FPS iPad games (Shadowgun, MC3, Rage, etc.). Also, it's a lot more hands on than most strategy games. I hope EA continues to make games of this quality. ### 5/5 — Cool game *2011-12-17, version 1.0.0* Really fun hope more people get it so I can do some multiplayer After playing more I feel the computers AI could use some work. All difficulties seem to use the same strategy where only one group is sent to fight at a time. Also it would be nice if the normal gameplay was a tad bit faster. The machine gunner class could use a little boost in range or power because they seem kinda useless compared to other classes. Calvary are cool for the rush but kindov useless otherwise. I like how when your troops kill and stay alive they get rank. Maybe implement something where they get some type of bonus? Maybe tap character n throw a grenade similar to engineer.
