## What is Trendspotter?

The next generation of location-based social networking. Harnessing the power of Foursquare and Twitter, Trendspotter lets you in on the hot trends developing around you. Find out what people are saying about restaurants, bars, museums, coffee shops, and concerts nearby, in real-time.

How the real-time location data works: Trendspotter utilizes Foursquare's extensive location database to find places near you, as well as popular hot spots in your general vicinity. Once you select a venue, Trendspotter polls Twitter to see if anyone has tweeted while currently checked in to that place. The resulting tweets, or "Local Pulse," gives you a real-time view of what's happening at the venue, from people who are actually there!

You can also check in and tweet directly from Trendspotter. Watch as your tweets get added to the Local Pulse of the venue!

Note: You need a Foursquare account in order to use Trendspotter, since the app uses Foursquare's location database to gather information about the different venues nearby. If you don't already have a Foursquare account, it only takes a short amount of time to sign up and join the fun.
