I performed extensive testing: • Deleted and reinstalled the app • Restarted the iPhone • Changed my password • Updated my profile • Tried while logged in • Tried as a guest user • Tried through the mobile website In every case, Apple Pay launches normally and authentication succeeds, but the purchase does not complete. Initially, manual Visa card entry appeared to work as a workaround. However, on a later purchase attempt, the Visa payment also failed and the application displayed the internal error message “label_payment_failed_title.” The issue therefore appears to affect more than just Apple Pay. Because the problem began at the same time as the most recent update, I suspect there may be an issue with the payment system introduced in the latest release. I am posting this review in the hope that the issue can be investigated, because until last week the app worked perfectly for me. ### 1/5 — Impossible to log in to app *2026-06-14, version 13.000.2* I set up my account on the website, and using the credentials on the app does not work. When I sent to buy my last ticket the app flipped the to/from destination and I accidentally bought a ticket doing to opposite direction of what I had searched. I tested it afterwards and confirmed the app flipped the destination- I did not make a mistake. Trainitalia refused to issue a refund. The app sucks. Bei DB, ÖBB und anderen Gesellschaften ist das problemlos in der App möglich. Bei Trenitalia geht’s in der App gar nicht und auch anders nur auf Umwegen. Last week, I wanted to buy a monthly ticket, but suddenly I could only buy the weekly one. So I did, because I had to take the train, but after the purchase the app just crashed. I tried reinstalling, but to no avail. And of course, once you purchased a weekly ticket you cannot ask service support to fix the issue and buy the monthly one: after waiting for about 30 minutes at the phone, the obvious answer: we can’t do anything about it. Good job! UPDATE: I went to the info desk and was told to reset the email. It was a pain and even after doing that, the issue remains. I was also contacted by the developer and told the issue had been fixed, but guess what? Nope! Does Trenitalia seek to be an international laughingstock? ### 1/5 — Schade, dass der Ticketkauf nur bis fünf Minuten vor der Abfahrt möglich ist. *2026-07-13* Es ist super, dass man Busfahrkarten vom/zum Flughafen sowie Zugtickets kaufen kann. Allerdings ist das nicht mehr möglich, wenn der Zug in weniger als fünf Minuten abfährt. Dann bleibt nur der Ticketautomat. Bis das Ticket ausgedruckt ist, dauert es eine Weile. Decide which train you want, buy the ticket, get on the train and go. No need to worry about validating ticket, or getting a €200 fine if you forget. Turns out it’s not two trains. One of them is a bus and surprisingly passengers are supposed to take their own means of transportation to the station where the change takes place. So the first “train” time doesn’t actually mean anything. At the ticket office we couldn’t get a refund because they claim that the phrase Urban Transport means a bus 😰 ### 5/5 — Easy to use. Go to your email and confirm and it will assign you a “user” name, probably your name with a period between the first and last name. BTW, there were no options to choose USA, America, or North America if you live in the US, so I just chose Canada. Then open the app and login with the user name they assigned you and your password.
