## What is TrickSheet?

Keep score for tricks, bids and winners across game nights — clean, fair, no paper required.

TrickSheet is the digital notepad for the "tricks-and-bids" card game (also known as Wizard, Oh-Hell, Up-and-Down-the-River). Just enter each player's bid and actual tricks per round; the app handles the rest.

— How it plays —

• 2–6 players, classic 20-round format (1 to 10, then 10 to 1)
• Choose your rules: classic or Wizard scoring, the Oh-Hell "bids can't add up" rule, and a custom number of rounds
• Scoring is automatic
• Live leaderboard with bid accuracy, streak counter and perfect-game badge
• Score chart with player-specific point shapes — readable without color cues

— After the game —

• Fair stats sorted by average, not by how many sessions you showed up for
• Tied players share a rank (1, 1, 1, 4 instead of 1, 2, 3, 4)
• Rename players with automatic merging
• Fix the last round — even after the game ends
• Interrupted games resume right where you left off

— AirPlay & TV —

Turn on AirPlay and the game mirrors to the big screen: everyone sees the current bids, scores and the live progression while you tap on iPhone. Large text, clear colors, readable from the couch.

— iCloud Backup —

Game histories are encrypted and backed up to your private iCloud automatically (or stored locally if iCloud isn't available). When restoring, you can either merge or replace everything.

— Accessibility —

• VoiceOver: Rich labels everywhere
• Voice Control: All buttons addressable by name
• Larger Text: Fully scales with iOS Dynamic Type
• Reduce Motion is honored
• Symbols beyond color

— Privacy —

No accounts, no trackers, no ads. Your game data stays on your device or in your own iCloud. That's it.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 8.0 — 2026-07-16

New in 8.0:

• Choose your rules: Wizard scoring, the Oh-Hell "bids can't add up" rule, and a custom number of rounds.
• Now in 9 languages.
• Fresh app icon and a new look.
• A quick intro for new players.
• Fix the last round — even after the game ends.
• Interrupted games resume right where you left off.
• Deeper stats: bid tendency, accuracy by round size, head-to-head.
• Better iPad layout.

Enjoy keeping score!

### 7.3 — 2026-05-09

Group sharing fully reworked: joining, leaving, and the participant list are now far more reliable. Shared links are easier to forward ("Anyone with the link"), joining auto-selects the group, and deleting a shared group cleanly tears down the share.

### 7.2.1 — 2026-05-07

Fixes an issue when opening invitation links for shared player groups.

### 7.2 — 2026-05-06

Fixes an issue when sharing player groups via iCloud.

### 7.1 — 2026-05-06

Player groups: TrickSheet now separates family, pub night and work — all in one app.

- Pick a group: switch between your player groups right from the home screen. Each group has its own history, leaderboard and backups.
- Manage members: tap a group in "Manage groups" to see who belongs to it. Members can be added explicitly, even before the first shared game.
- One name, multiple groups: "Sebastian" can belong to both "Family" and "Pub night" at the same time
- Recognize known names: when you type a name that has played in another group, a blue marker appears. Tap it to add the name as a member of the current group.

Games and stats across groups:

- Move a game: swipe left or long-press a game in history to move it into a different group
- Global stats: a globe icon appears next to names that are active in multiple groups. Tap it to see combined stats across all groups plus a per-group breakdown. Tap a group to jump straight to it.

Share groups with other iCloud users:

- Share a group: open "Manage groups" → tap a group → the three-dot menu → "Share group…". Invite other iCloud users via iMessage, mail or a link; they'll see the same group on their own devices.
- Synced across devices: games, members, renames and stats show up automatically for every participant. When someone finishes a game, everyone else sees the update.
- Visibly marked: shared groups carry a small people icon in the group selector and in "Manage groups", along with the participant count.
- Watch out when restoring: restoring a backup of a shared group triggers a warning. Recommended option: "Restore into new local group" — the shared state stays untouched for everyone else, and your backup lands as a private copy.
- Stop or leave: as the owner you can stop sharing any time — everyone else loses access. As a participant you can leave a shared group without affecting the others.

Safer backups:

- Scoped per group: every group has its own backup pile. Restore and merge only affect that group — others stay untouched.
- Conflict sheet: if a game in the backup has since been moved to a different group, the app asks whether to bring it back or leave it where it is.
- Old backups still load: backups from previous versions are still read correctly.
- More backups, created automatically: each group now keeps up to 20 backups instead of 3. A new one is created automatically whenever a game finishes

Leaderboard & history:

- Trophy icon: the history button on the home screen is now a golden trophy
- Leaderboard first: opening the screen lands on the leaderboard, with the games list as the second tab.

AirPlay polish (all on the TV):

- Stylish idle screen: when nothing's playing on the TV (home screen, group management, …), it now shows a halo view — trophy with card suits orbiting it, the TrickSheet wordmark, and the current group name as a chip.
- Score chips fly on the TV too: after each round, the score chips fly from top to bottom on AirPlay as well — in sync with the iPhone.
- Big bid reveal: as soon as the last bid of a round is in, the TV shows a big screen with the total bids and whether there are too many, too few or exactly right — a nice 6-second effect.
- Bigger bids panel: the current-round panel on the TV is noticeably larger — readable from across the living room.
- Round details tuned for TV: detail tables after a game and in past games use larger fonts and cells.
