### 3/5 — App is not functional with smart home

I’ve been contacting Tricon since my app stopped working and I cannot access the thermostat on my app. Which means I can’t change my schedule for when is on and when it’s off. “IT” keeps saying the same bs.. “restart your phone, delete the app.. etc” which I have done and I’m paying for a fee that I cannot even truly even use. I keep getting the error something went wrong and it cannot even fully resolve the issue.

Doorbell camera sends no notifications the filter feature by object doesn’t work. Complete ripoff and waste of money. Tricon needs to ensure this is an optimal product before charging residents. I have to rely on Blink which works great.

I love the upgraded app! Easy to pay rents, submit maintenance tickets, adjust my thermostat and lock/unlock the electronic door lock. I can even set and cancel pin/access codes. One feature it’s missing is the ability to contact the landlord/property manager via email or chat.

I’ve had a good overall experience with this app. It’s really convenient to submit maintenance requests, and I appreciate that it gives immediate feedback—like letting me know if something falls under renter responsibility. It also provides contact info for vendors when needed, which has been helpful. Overall, it’s reliable for managing requests and communication.

My main issue is with the smart door lock integration. The lock itself works fine, but the app connection is almost always offline, so I can’t lock or unlock it from my phone. I reported it once, and it happened to be working during the appointment, but went offline again shortly after. For most of my time here, it hasn’t worked properly through the app.

If that connectivity issue were fixed, this would be a great experience overall.

A Tricon residential technician, while replacing a kitchen faucet ruptured a waterline and flooded my home. He was very apologetic, but did not stay to help clean up,stating he would be late to another appointment. He assured me I would be reimbursed for the damages to my sofa, sound sound system etc… I hastily cleaned up the massive mess, because it’s my home and I don’t want to live in filth. I was not thinking to take pictures of the damage, until after I cleaned up most of the mess. I was clearly reacting to the emergency situation I had been thrust into. That proved to be detrimental as the last three months Tricon is refusing to take any action to rectify this, even claiming the pictures prove the technician helped to clean the mess. I asked for one months rent to be covered, for the inconvenience and the cost of replacing my items. People familiar with this story say I should have asked for more. This happened in January. Every week since, I contact Tricon,I’ve been told I’d have an answer by the end of the week. It’s now the middle of March. I normally don’t leave reviews, but this matter needs to be resolved! I’m really disappointed, I’ve been a resident over two years, with no issues. This has really left a bad taste in my mouth!😐
