The call feature also needs a lot of work, half of the time I can’t hear the other person. ### 3/5 — An sich toll, *2024-02-13* Aber beim direkten hinsehen fehlt mir in den Einstellungen doch hier und da einiges. In Gruppenchats zum Beispiel hat man immer noch eine breite Kontaktleiste. Das nervt. Auch, dass man das Passwort immer wieder neu eingeben muss. Die premium Version gibts nur noch als Abo, auch so ein Ärgernis. ### 4/5 — Trillian remains top tier for chat. *2023-07-13* While many have moved on to the multitude of chat options, Trillian shouldn’t be overlooked. For personal use, it had a lifetime subscription option which is rare in this world. Uptime is near perfect. The ability to keep logs via device or the web depending on if you’re using desktop or mobile, also very key for my use. Occasionally, there is a notification problem. After fully diagnosing devices, my friend and I just attribute it to being a dropped packet of data or something. Trillian gonna Trill is our joke. ### 2/5 — Hard to navigate *2023-04-06, version 6.5.89* Not user friendly at all. You can’t request an invite to your chat. Before, I stayed signed in. And there is no option to use Face ID or to keep me signed in. Logs out every few weeks, Doesn’t load anything properly and if you forget your password, to reset is a NIGHTMARE. The worst app for messaging ever. Do Not recommend for Personal OR Business use. ### 1/5 — SCAMS *2024-09-11, version 6.6.73* This app is being used to conduct sophisticated scams by people who are impersonating other people online in order to extort money. There seems to be no oversight at all to prevent this from happening. Do not use!!!! ### 1/5 — Mediokre XMPP and useless on watchOS *2024-03-25* Well I see that the makers of this would rather invest into their own protocol, but they could also extend XMPP instead with their propritary stuff. Anyway, not offering XEP0363 in 2024 is just a no go in my opinion. It's not okay to silo voice messages onto a random server, leaving both parties in the dark about how long it's gonna be there etc. Also it's of zero help if you see voice messages from other XMPP-clients arrive as links whose, in the case of Opus-files, you cannot even play in Safari, let-alone the Apple Watch. Oh and speaking of the latter, Trillian on watchOS doesn't work without the iPhone nearby, nor is it possible to use the watches keyboard (series 7 and up) to type messages. I work for a payroll software company where everyone is remote. We use Trillian for our internal messaging. Since we can't just "step across the hall" if we need someone, this mobile app allows me to stay connected in case someone needs me when I'm away from my computer. If it was the only version I used, I might need more features.
