## What is Trimetra?

Trimetra is the training app that gets you real results, for running, cycling, walking, swimming, inline skating and triathlon. No fixed running plan or training schedule: a weekly plan that adapts every day to what you train and how you recover, calculated from your own data instead of averages.

THE RIGHT STIMULUS EVERY DAY, A BALANCED WEEK
Trimetra builds your week from build, quality and recovery days. Missed a workout, got sick or life got busy? The plan shifts automatically. Your load stays balanced through fatigue, fitness and freshness, so you keep progressing without over- or undertraining.

LEARNS FROM WHAT YOU ACTUALLY DO
After every session, Trimetra compares plan and execution. Thresholds, zones and intensity move with your form, whether you train by power, heart rate or feel.

RECOVERY STEERS THE PLAN
Sleep, resting heart rate, HRV and weight come together in one recovery picture. When your recovery drops, the app favours endurance or rest over quality.

TRAIN TOWARDS A GOAL
From your first 10K to a marathon, gran fondo or full triathlon: build, peak and taper blocks are placed automatically towards your goal date, including a pacing plan and fueling advice for race day itself.

WALKING AND INLINE SKATING COUNT IN FULL
Walking and inline skating are planned sports, not an afterthought. A walk is steered by time on your feet rather than by pace, because that is the quantity that fits. With a multi-day trek on your calendar, the plan stacks walking days back to back instead of scheduling isolated long days: one day per step, and never further than you have already shown yourself. Inline skating is steered by heart rate, because there is no power meter and pace is not comparable across asphalt, wind and wheels. So for those two you get no finish-time prediction, but you do get a build-up.

CONNECT YOUR APPS AND WATCH
Strava, Wahoo, Withings, WHOOP, Suunto, Polar, Hammerhead or Apple Health, or log workouts manually. Send planned workouts to your Apple Watch, Suunto watch or Wahoo bike computer. For Hammerhead and other devices, download them as a file.

AND MORE
• Strength training with autoregulation and 1RM estimates
• Swim workouts with their own threshold (CSS) and technique drills
• Terrain and weather correction (GAP, heat acclimatisation)
• Optional nutrition log with energy balance
• Ask the coach: ask a question, get an answer from your own data
• Cycle tracking (fully opt-in)
• Available in English, Dutch, German and French

Try Trimetra free for your first month with everything switched on. After that, you choose a subscription, monthly or yearly. Your data stays yours: stored encrypted, never shared for advertising, and deletable at any time.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9 — 2026-10-29

New in this version:
• You can now send a planned run or ride to your bike computer or watch as a workout, with a pace, heart rate or power target.
• Your swim workout now shows your sets per repeat, with your pace per 100 m and the lengths of your own pool.
• Your watch's laps now appear in the session detail, with your kilometer splits below them.
• A run from Apple Health now gets its kilometer splits. For a run-walk you see for each step whether you ran or walked.
• Your start-to-run build-up now goes by what you actually ran. If you ran longer than suggested, the next suggestion grows with it, within limits.
• You can now download a completed workout as GPX or FIT, or save it as a route.
• You can now add a note to a new activity.
• Your overnight HRV, resting heart rate and oxygen now each have their own row in Your day.
• Import history now has one sheet for every brand. The screen stays on while importing, and after an interruption it picks up where it stopped.
• Eighth and quarter triathlon are now in the distance list.
• Your splits now grow with the distance: every 5 km from the half marathon, with the two halves at the top.
• A paused workout now calculates its pace without the pause.
• Your planned run durations no longer jump back and forth between days.

### 1.8 — 2026-10-18

New in this version:
• If your watch doesn't measure your HRV itself, you can now measure it in the morning with a chest strap, straight from your check-in. The result counts in your plan.
• Recording can now tick a metronome and says "Ease off a little" or "Pick it up a little" when you leave your range, even with the screen off. Your music only gets quieter during a cue.
• New: for each step you see and hear what you steer by (heart rate, pace or feel), with what comes next below it.
• A heart rate strap you paired before now connects on its own when you open a recording.
• A brief spike from your chest strap no longer counts in your heart rate or your maximum.
• Your lock screen now shows your heart rate with a heart and bpm.
• New: your shoes and bikes have their own place, with how many kilometers they have left.
• HRV, resting heart rate and sleep now show a bar per day, your seven-day average and what it means for your plan.
• For a race you can now enter the place and start time and mark the start on the map.
• You can now choose road, gravel, mountain bike or indoor for a ride, and the surface for a run.
• You can now say whether you trained on an empty stomach.
• New for a complaint: you choose whether it came from training or from an accident, and your plan adapts to it.
• Walkers now get their own build-up.
• Coach can now schedule a threshold test or FTP test for you and recognizes a test you ran.
• Turns now come along in the GPX download and to your Wahoo.
• New: you can import a workout from Garmin Connect as a file.

### 1.7 — 2026-09-25

New in this version:
• The app has new colors, with easier-to-read text and buttons that are easier to tap, in light and dark mode.
• How hard a workout felt is now called Effort, with its scale: 7/10.
• Stretching adapts to what you do: 1, 2 or 3 times a week, based on what you did in the last two weeks.
• A route for a workout now prefers a loop over going out and back on the same road.
• If you walk for a few minutes right after a run or ride, the app asks whether that was your cool-down. Link it and it belongs to your workout.
• Swimming counts the time you actually swim, without the rests at the wall, and your swim threshold comes from your fastest stretches.
• Walking calories follow your pace and the gradient.
• Your finds are grouped by category, and you filter your collection by All, Duplicates or Still to find.
• After a running race you see your plan next to what you ran, kilometer by kilometer.
• Today's workout no longer changes unexpectedly once you have seen it.
• When two or more new activities come in at once, you see them together on one sheet. For each one you set the effort and say whether you had any complaints.
• "Do you feel ill?" is now a regular question in your daily check-in.
• Energy systems shows, for each system, your share over the last three weeks, your optimal range and where your plan takes you by Sunday.
• Each kind of text has one fixed size, so the screens read more calmly.
• Blood pressure from Apple Health appears in the app. With the measuring week you measure morning and evening for seven days, with reminders and your own average at the end.
• Without a subscription you can record and save workouts again.

### 1.6 — 2026-09-21

New in this version:
• Your running recording appears on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island: elapsed time, distance, pace and the block you are in, with your heart rate as soon as you wear a strap. No need to open the app.
• A recording with your phone in your pocket now keeps its full series of measurements. Your kilometre splits, your zone breakdown and your laps are there even if the screen was off.
• Your average heart rate over a recording now weighs how long each reading applied, and the screen says how much of the session was actually measured.
• The wellbeing check now works with Apple Health too: breathing rate and oxygen saturation from your own measurements. Optional, and never a diagnosis — your training only changes if you say you are ill and want that.

### 1.5 — 2026-09-05

New in this version:
• Your first month is free and complete — it used to be fourteen days. That gives the app time to get to know you: the plan only becomes truly personal after a few weeks of your own data, and fourteen days never covers a full build-up with a recovery week in it.
• You can now subscribe inside the app with your Apple account: monthly or yearly, cancelled in your Apple subscriptions. Restore Purchases sits right next to it.
• Before your trial ends, you get an email about it. No surprise, and nothing is charged automatically — recording, collecting and your connections stay free after that.
• New layout: the tabs sit at the top, and a bar at the bottom holds Messages, the Record button and your profile. Back goes exactly one step back again.
• Walking is a full sport: multi-day events such as the Nijmegen Four Days Marches with a distance per day, an event card with pace, fuelling and recovery between days, and a long walk that grows with you week after week.
• The exercise drawings now match the text below them: posture, viewpoint and the direction the movement comes from.
• Dark mode: frames, cards and buttons can be told apart again, and the whole app now uses a single card shape.
• Search in the nutrition log now finds what you typed instead of something that merely looks like it.

Also new since 1.2 (the version in between never reached the store):

RECORDING
• Record a workout with route guidance: your route on the map, turn cues in your ears and a signal when you drift off.
• A compass on the map, so you can see which way you are facing even standing still.
• Laps with 3-2-1 ticks, a clear switch cue and a voice that says times and units in full.
• Your own recordings help build the road network the app knows for you.

ROUTES
• Create and edit routes: drag points, shorten or reverse — the line keeps following your own roads.
• A share card with your route and what you found along the way.

MEASURING AND PLANNING
• A second threshold (LT1) alongside your existing one, proposed from your own easy endurance sessions.
• Respiratory rate and oxygen saturation from Apple Health, with their own tile and trend.
• Polar added as a connection — your thresholds come along.
• Inline skating as its own sport, with its own zones and goals.
• Cycle tracking that reads along with your form and compares within the same cycle.
• A photo of your meal as an estimate, with its source shown.

FOR ANYONE WORKING IN MILES
• Miles, pounds and feet throughout the app, from onboarding to coach.
• Dates in your own notation, independent of your language.

ALSO
• Recording and collecting finds now work without a subscription.
• New onboarding that first asks what you use the app for.
• Email, password and two-factor on one screen.
• Notifications: check-in reminders, workout suggestions and alerts.
• Many smaller improvements to readability, dark mode and wording in all four languages.
