Expenses from is tedious and takes far too many taps. Sometimes bugs cause error messages that cover the buttons on the ui. Can’t create recurring expense reports as far as I can tell. However - we find it more frustrating that useful at times. From all the bugs this app brings, we find ourselves having to constantly correct information when submitting single expenses, reports, mileage, and more. Bugs we have noticed: • The title of expense reports doesn’t save. So when we submit a report to accounting, we are recalling it nearly every single time because information just kind of reverts… • the mileage information seems to guess what’s going on based on some sort of traffic data - it often doesn’t provide the route I take to location and instead just provides the “shortest” but not most cost efficient route - so the employee often loses money on this. • using receipts to enter information works maybe 5% of the time - and that’s a generous estimate, especially with how many types of receipts we provide. • we have seen coworkers just simply being unable to use the app, from not being able to login - to it just stops responding. All in all - if this app worked 100% of the time, it would be amazing. But at this point when we use it, it’s the gamble of “what bug will we have to deal with today???” Just stick to the trinet website to enter expenses, even though that can be worse…smh. ### 3/5 — pdfs?? *2024-04-01, version 3.16.245* why oh why can we not upload pdfs as receipts? ### 1/5 — Trash *2024-01-03, version 3.16.240* This app is so clunky and it’s amazing that it barely picks up any information from receipts nor does it help with any auto populating. It’s an absolute waste of time considering Expensify and other expense apps were doing full auto populating 5+ years ago. It’s been duplicating my expenses anywhere from 5-20 times. Even after I delete them all it adds them back. My report should be around $900 and it’s up to $6,300! ### 1/5 — Latest version is THE WORST! *2023-06-08* They seem to have dropped the app and just framed the website in an app. No scaling or native view support. You might as well just visit from your browser. ### 2/5 — You have to do everything manually *2023-05-31* Other expense apps I’ve used for business in the past are way better for one reason; automatically parsing receipts. This app does not do that. You have to memorize your receipt then manually fill out expense details. Terrible. ### 2/5 — Not as user friendly as competitors *2023-05-08* I find this to be not as user friendly as other expense reporting apps used in the past. For other apps, I can import photos/files directly to the app where as with this one I have to save locally and import. Or I have to open the app and take the photo from inside the app and usually then it saves the photo locally too. Also, with other apps the app reads the file creates the expense for me. All I have to do is confirm the details. I think there is a lot of room for improvement here. ### 1/5 — Need a New UIUX Designer *2022-12-29, version 3.16.198* This app almost a waste of time. It didn’t even have a batch upload mode. Each time you upload an recipe it creates another duplicate on your iPhone. Horrible ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Most Glitchy App Available *2025-02-13* This app absolutely doesn’t work and I’m looking forward to the day when my company migrates away from it. I’ve used it for 4 years and it constantly (literally every month) flags me for violations that don’t exist. Failure to note expenses? I put notes on each expense in multiple places. Trying to attach a receipt? How about we crash the app instead. Need to bill something to a specific project? Those fields are decorative. I’ve been relegated to hobbling through expense reports with an elaborate combo of web browsers and this app. I’m 1.5 hours into this month’s expense report and have no idea how I’m going to complete it with all the crashes. Fantastic app if you want to sink worker productivity ### 1/5 — Expensify is so much better *2025-02-12* Takes me almost a whole day to enter all of my expenses and this app does not save me any time. Expensify would take me 10% of the time.
