Unplugged from carplay after work. The only way to save favorite stations is to subscribe. It’s too many other apps almost as good that do no charge for features ### 3/5 — Great app but barely any updates *2025-03-17* This is a great streaming radio app which lets you go around the world and the CarPlay support is very well done but the subscription isn’t worth it. I did it to support the devs but it seems like they abandoned the app, there have not been updates in a long time. The whole point of a subscription is that you get constant updates! If you’re just going to abandon the app then make it a single purchase or something and not a reoccurring subscription. Also the lifetime option says it only lasts for 3 years which is the exact same price as subscribing for 3 years normally which makes no sense at all! If they start updating the app again then this would be 5 stars for sure! ### 2/5 — Used to be fantastic *2025-03-02, version 2.1* Glitchy - multiple restarts. Paid for the lifetime subscription. Since iOS 18 when connecting to any stream the stream will not start with the three tones and then it will not go into the background. So - when swiping to another app Triode stream will stop. Only solution is to kill Triode and restart. Been waiting several months. You can use it across devices and they seem to sync up. The last Radio app I ever need to download. I also feel that more radio stations should be added in USA & Canada for a premium app. Sometimes I have noticed when trying to select another station there’s a bit of a freeze where you have to press play few times so this should be checked. All in lol it’s a great app like the sound effects. CarPlay support is great. Love the distraction free mode. Not being tracked and having a good privacy policy is also one of the main reasons I chose this app. Search could be improved, would love to discover new stations in a different way, instead of typing and seeing what comes up. They sell lifetime subscriptions but do not care about adding features and fixing bugs. About 2 weeks ago some of my stations would no longer connect even though they were coming up on the search - I wrote to the developer with no response. I was able to manually remap the stations but as of today 3/25 the app gets killed in the background. I suspect that this is something to do with os 17.4 but I also suspect that the developer won’t fix this anytime soon. There is no explicit setting to allow this app background refresh. So now it’s a useless app that streams for 15 seconds and then gets killed. ### 1/5 — Not Great. TuneIn Works Better *2023-10-27, version 2.1* Downloaded this app and purchased “forever” subscription. First issue, forever should mean forever. Three years is not forever. Second issue. Searched for BBC Radio 1. I was presented with 6 or 7 different choices. None of them worked. Got an error on every one. Popped over to TuneIn and ran the same search. One option. Played immediately. How do I get a refund. This app simply doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — Y en a marre de ces pratiques !!!! *2023-10-11* J’ai acheté cette application en licence perpétuelle au mois d’Août dernier et depuis la dernière mise à jour, je dois de nouveau supporter de la pub avant le lancement de la radio que j’ai choisie !!! Tant sur le Mac que sur les Mobiles (iPads et iPhones)!!! Je parle de la pub rajoutée par l’application, pas de celle faisant partie du flux de la radio elle-même bien sûr … C’est absolument scandaleux !!! J’exige absolument une explication et une correction !!!! Et pas la peine de me demander de restaurer les achats et de relancer les applis, je l’ai déjà fait bien sûr … Je suis toujours d’accord pour payer ce qui est dû et le travail qui est fourni mais dans ce cas je veux le service en contrepartie !!! Paiement = marchandise ou service !!! Et dans le cas présent, j’estime que c’est l’absence de pubs … Autrement, c’est du vol !!! Cette pratique se répand de plus en plus, et j’en ai assez de cette façon de faire !!! Cela me fait regretter d’être honnête et de ne pas pirater … ### 1/5 — Impossible to connect with my TvOs subscription. *2023-09-23, version 1.3.3* I have an iPhone 6s updated to maximum 15.7.9 and the APP works with my "forever" subscription perfectly. I also bought the subscription on this iPhone. (BUG: After a few minutes the streaming stops) I just updated the Apple TV 4K to TvOs 7 and it is impossible to renew the subscription. I have refreshed iCloud on the iPhone, on the AppleTV, I have reinstalled the App, and it still doesn't work. On Sunday, before the TvOS update, it worked perfectly with my subscription. What’s great: - No Tracking — Respects privacy - iPhone, CarPlay, iPad, Mac, and AppleTV versions - Great station selection What’s disappointing: - Search is broken on AppleTV version - Search field *forever* obscured after entering search term - App must be deleted after each search in order to search for something new This appears to be a problem on AppleTV only; however this issue kills the multi platform value of the app — so 1 star until issue is corrected. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great little app! *2026-05-13* I wanted to reach out to these folks as a voice over user and give them PROPS for NOT forgeting about us as most developers do. This is a very simple straightforward easy to use, interface! There are no MYSTERY buttons or buttons that simply do Not WORK! Everything does what it's supposed too. I would love to see a recently played feature but that's about the only thing I'd improve! They do not release updates just for the sake of updatet as do others! The selection of stations is HUGE! If you can't find something to listen to in all that, you are way to picky LOL! Go get it and ENJOY! **Developer response:** Thanks for the kind words about our accessibility work! I especially like this app’s ability to match album art with songs. A beautiful app, well designed. ### 5/5 — Surprisingly exceptional sound quality *2026-03-16* This is an excellent radio streaming app that includes album art, which I love. And the Apple CarPlay integration is well done and easy to use. But the thing that took me by surprise was how good it sounds when listening to high bit rate MP3 streams and FLAC. streams. There was a noticeable improvement in the sound quality compared to other apps included some that claim to be high fidelity. This app makes no such claim that I’ve seen, but instead just delivers it. ### 5/5 — In constant use *2026-01-26* It’s a great radio streaming app with great support on iOS, Mac and Apple TV. The new widgets are great too especially on my iPhone. Great to get away from TuneIn which has gotten so much worse over the years. They update it frequently, and it works perfectly with CarPlay. Great for custom feeds.
