When reported to customer service, they say to put in the trips manually. They tell me it’s my fault for turning on the battery save mode on my iPhone. Well, I haven’t used the battery save mode now for over a week. And the app is still leaving off entire days worth of trip trips. **Developer response:** We’re sorry you experienced this. Since your review, we’ve released a major Tripbook update with a new underlying trip-tracking system designed to prevent missed trips and make automatic tracking significantly more reliable. The Tripbook Team ### 3/5 — Good app with potential *2026-07-09* The app is generally very good and definitely helps me on a day-to-day basis, but I’m still missing a few features that would make it much smarter and reduce manual work. The biggest improvement would be tracking presets. For example, when I drive from home to work, the app often recognizes a slightly different address each time. Ideally, users could define and label a set of common locations (e.g. “Home”, “Work”, “Gym”). When the app detects a trip that matches or is close to one of these predefined routes, it could send a notification such as: “Was that your drive to work?” → Yes / No This could be powered by configurable rules, similar to smart email filters, and would significantly reduce the amount of manual categorization required. Another improvement would be assigning the cost per kilometer to the selected vehicle rather than using a single global rate. For example, the reimbursement rate for a car is different from that of a motorcycle, scooter, or bicycle, so this should be handled automatically based on the vehicle used. If these features were added, this would easily be a 5-star app for me. **Developer response:** Thank you for the detailed feedback! We’ve just added one of the improvements you mentioned in our latest update. You can now set your **Home and Work addresses** in Tripbook. When you park within approximately 150 meters of either location, Tripbook will automatically use your saved Home or Work address instead of a slightly different nearby address. We really appreciate your other suggestions as well, especially around smarter categorization and vehicle-specific mileage rates. Feedback like this helps us decide what to improve next. The Tripbook Team ### 2/5 — Likes to log 50 foot walks *2026-07-02* This app is awesome except for that every time I walk around it gives me a new trip. It logs a 100th of a mile or so, and tells me to report it. There is no way to set a minimum trip distance or length. This should be fixed. Alternatively, I have to turn on the auto tracking every time I start to drive and turn it off when I am done, which kind of destroys the point. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! Tripbook currently has a minimum trip distance of 50 meters, so movements shorter than this should not be recorded as trips. About a third of the time this app quits logging and I realize it after driving a long while. **Developer response:** We've significantly improved trip tracking since our May update. The issues that could prevent trips from being logged after restarting your iPhone or installing updates have been resolved, and trips should now be tracked reliably in these situations. We'd be happy to investigate and make sure everything is working correctly on your device. ### 1/5 — BUYER BEWARE!!! *2025-12-13* My app stopped working, I did everything the support team said, and ultimately lost all of my data. I’m out all of my money, and I have no records of my mileage for the year. STAY AWAY FROM TRIPBOOK!!!! **Developer response:** We’re sorry to hear about your frustration. After reviewing this case, our records show the app was not updated and trip tracking was never activated, so no mileage data was recorded and therefore not lost. ### 2/5 — Needs work *2025-12-12, version 1.79* Auto tracking is too unreliable, needs an option to “start tracking now” to really make it a stand out app. More options for “total KM” in each category in reports also. Rather than just every drive listed. I’m paying for a service if you’re not going to simplify an track all the data properly what’s the point. Every day auto tracking misses drives and I have to manually ad them, which spent accurately track the route taken. More and more this app shows its flaws. ### 2/5 — Privacy concerns *2025-10-20* The app is forcing me every time to change the app tracking for always ! Why ? I switched from mile iq ti tripbook hoping for cheaper alternative. Well the app stopped working and i was unable to recover 6 weeks of driving. A series of short trips and it’s important to have an exact address for my destinations. I need it for potential court cases. Tripbook does NOT give precise addresses. Instead, it’s an area. In addition, Tripbook now uses the **end address of your previous trip as the starting address of your next trip**, helping ensure consistent and more precise addresses, especially when making multiple short trips. The whole point of this app is for it to track all of your travels, I’ve checked my settings. I restarted the app. It will not track my trips, It only does it sometimes it tracks when it wants to, it’s not worth it. I’m glad I didn’t pay the full amount just the monthly. And I should’ve known that it wasn’t going to work, the trial wasn’t tracking all of the trips either, but I naïvely thought it was because I didn’t have the premium, and then I paid for the premium and I still have the same issue. The only thing I can think of as to why it will not work is because I have my phone plugged in so I can play music in my car and so my phone has my Spotify playing in the background and I think that the app won’t track if another app is being used? If my husband drives and I’m on my phone using instagram or another app it won’t track my mileage either even though we’re driving to a location. I do have to make notes about what the stops were and who they were for. It can be confusing if you see addy to and from are the same but it logs a lot of miles. **Developer response:** Thank you!
