I got a bit surprised… ### 4/5 — Have met some of my best friends on this app. *2026-07-24* Met one of my best friends 2 years ago on this app. We now work for a foundation and travel the world documenting the foundations efforts in providing aid to communities around the world. Thanks trip bff! Of recent the changes to the interface have really limited the ability to connect with others however. For instance the alterations to the group plans portion of the app I can no longer join a “Central America” group chat because if the person who made it did so in Panama and I’m now in Nicaragua even though the group is made for all of Central America it won’t let me join. It’s a lot tougher to get connected to people unless they’re actively Right where you are, but where I found this app worked best was reaching out to others in advance we’d get acquainted and make plans to meet when we eventually traveled to the destination a couple days weeks or months later. Also yall are missing Eswatini on the country counter and have East timor/timor leste twice haha **Developer response:** Thank you for the review :) So happy you made awesome friends on TripBFF! ### 2/5 — ehh *2026-07-10* I met one of my ultimate best friends on this app (purely by chance, not because the app was particularly great). many of the features are exclusive to paying members, and while this is not necessarily terrible as many apps must do this, it does make it much less usable. I don’t want the majority of notifications/friend requests I receive from this app to be from older men. this alone drives down my engagement on this app by 85%, and I’m sure the majority of women on this app feel the same way. The two women I did manage to meet from this app agreed to this themselves. The least this app can do is allow everyone to filter based on age and gender. even these are paid features! And the age range choices are quite large. ### 3/5 — Location *2026-06-20, version 7.5.6* I love the app, but with the amount of ppl that see my profile and close radius, which I’m not sure how specific it shows… I have to take out my picture out and change my name when I don’t travel to feel safe because there’s no option that I see here to turn off my location completely while home. ### 3/5 — Total disappointment *2026-06-15, version 7.5.6* Be careful with this app. I intended to use the advertised free trial but was charged AUD 129.99 for an annual subscription instead!! The app signed me out so i thought the job was done. However, i'm still receiving notifications from chats i was in before deleting my account, the names of other people and the contents of their messages are still appearing in my notifications. And what i find is even worse is that i am getting requests to "hang out nearby" and I'm now scared that my profile is still appearing on the live map feature. Please, what is the meaning of this and how do i make it stop??????? Response: Hi, Its been over a week and I am still getting live updates from chats that I was in when I had my account. I can see people's names and the plans they're making, and I'm getting requests to hang out in my area which leads me to believe that my profile is still visible. This is unacceptable from a privacy and security perspective. I have already contacted the support team but they are not responding as quickly as I am still receiving notifications. Please treat this as an urgent matter. **Developer response:** Deleting your account takes 24-72 hours to fully remove all data and your account from groups. If you have the app still installed, you may still receive general notifications that aren't specifically related to your account.
