It would be great is you could sync across multiple devices. ### 2/5 — TripCoin Can’t Import Any Data and Support is Non-Existent *2026-02-18, version 4.5* After the death of my beloved Trail Wallet app, which I used for over a decade, I considered two similar apps: TripCoin and TravelSpend. Some reviews indicated that TripCoin could import CSV files. When I didn't find this feature after installing the app, I wrongly assumed it was only available in the paid version. However, TripCoin does not support importing data from any source, which is a deal breaker for me. Additionally, the user interface is very plain, resembling a basic website form. I also didn't receive any response to my support request through their website, which contributed to my negative review. On the positive side, this app is more affordable to purchase outright, unlike many other apps that require monthly subscriptions. Ultimately, I switched to TravelSpend, subscribed for one month to import my old CSV data, which I could then continue to use for free. However, I decided to pay AU$99 for a one-time Premium license to support them, especially since their support team responded to me within 24 hours. It boils down to a cheaper app with fewer features and no support OR paying more for additional features and support. ### 3/5 — Doesn’t backup *2025-12-04, version 4.5* No iCloud backup, if you lose your device you lose the data of this app as well. Abraço e parabéns! ### 3/5 — Not a fan of the latest update! *2025-03-27, version 3.5* I’ve been a user of TripCoin for many years but am not a fab of the latest upgrade (Mar 2025), which has made the layout a lot less user friendly and intuitive. ### 4/5 — Need two changes *2025-03-23, version 3.4* This does most of what I need. But it has two serious issues that are sending me looking for an alternative. The first is that it doesn’t identify US states for its locations. If I am still in Richmond, VA entering an expense, it will select the correct “Richmond, US”. If I enter it when I’ve moved on to Raleigh, I have to guess which of the seven “Richmond, US” it should be to place the expense in the correct location. If I guess wrong (and I have only a 14% chance of being right) the summary for location based expenses is off (there will be expenses in two different Richmonds). The second is if I’m entering an expense in a location the app never heard of (like the big travel center in Kenly, NC), there is no way to tell the app it occurred in Kenly (not even in “Kenly, US”). There needs to be a way to enter new locations, even if they stay in only local storage. ### 5/5 — Perfect app! *2025-03-08, version 3.3* The recent update had some kinks but the app developer listened to the feedback and applied improvements quickly - thank you for listening to your users! This app is perfect for tracking spending on your next trip. Looking forward to more. Previous (prior to latest update): I’ve used this app for well over a year. It was simple and functioned well. But now, it’s completely different. It does not remember the location and has to be entered for each entry - very annoying and time consuming. The quick edit function is only available on today’s entry and doesn’t remember any of the fields like it used to. The new look also makes it hard to differentiate between the days. The email backup is gone and you are forced to use Dropbox. So many things changed and not for the good. Please put some of these features back or you will lose more users. ### 5/5 — New design *2025-03-02* I really loved the app with the old design, it was simple, easy and you had a good overview. I don’t like the new design. It’s not separating enough between the different days due to missing tables, lines etc. The interface to add new expenses was better before as well. For example you have to open the date now if you just want to change the time of an expense to put it in order with others. And please use the currency of the location as a default currency and not GBP or at least the trip currency. So please change the design back to the old or at least separate the days with a different colour. So that you have a visual difference between the days. Update: they adopted the design!Love it now again and keep on recommending the app! The new statistics can be a bit more user friendly too as I personally like to see how much I spend on average in a country (so far). ### 3/5 — Update is not the one *2025-03-02, version 3.3* Please, change some things back. You just destroyed your app. I’ve been using this since December 2024 for a Europe trip that we’re currently on. The app updated without my knowledge and erased all of my notes on previous transactions. The transactions are also listed weird and confusing? Why are there negative signs in front of all the amounts? And the numbers don’t make sense. For example, look at this daily entry (this is how it reads on the new app): Feb 23, 2025 -$123.98 Groceries -$39.29 Food -€33.79 Lunch -$97.67 Food -€84.00 84 euro is not $97.67, so where is that number coming from? (All of my transactions are messed up like this). And then where did the total of $123.98 come from? Please go back to how the app was before. Thanks. ### 1/5 — New update removed most used functionality *2025-02-27, version 3.2* I would have loved to rate this app 5 stars and honestly I will once the missing quick entry functionality returns. 95% of the time I record spending using quick entry. The issue is users cannot specify the currency anymore when entering a quick entry, it forces you to use the tracker currency setting. Once the entry is added, the user can change it but it takes 8 clicks. This used to take 2 clicks because the app would remember the last quick entry currency used. The core issue is that I cannot specify the quick entry currency anymore. It’s become very tedious now to enter spending. My tracker is in £ and I’m travelling around different countries with different currencies. The app UI design is a significant step forward from the previous version, it really looks amazing. Version 3.3 allows you to change to the old "table" style by going to Menu -> Settings -> User interface style: Classic. Also, email backup is back in the app. We'll continue to squash bugs in the coming days. ### 1/5 — Don’t do the update!! *2025-02-15, version 3.1* I’ve used this app for a long time and it’s been great and now there’s an update and now the app doesn’t work. I just have a white screen now. Hopefully I didn’t lose all my information. There’s no developer website and no way to get help. If I stay disciplined, I could use it to track monthly expenses. Would love if it had a monthly calendar view outside of splitting expenses. The fact that I can also upload a picture of my receipts is a great bonus. One thing they could be done to improve the app is allowing me to track expenses that I didn’t pay for (like meals paid for by others) and then be able to exclude that amount from the overall total. It would then act as a way to document expenses as well as the places I’ve been to.
