### 2/5 — Used to be good..

*2015-08-02, version 1.3*

Used to be good..but taking that animated maps out was a blunder. Should have kept both the versions. When you know every one loves that, no point taking it out..

### 3/5 — Lots of potential

*2014-04-16, version 1.2*

I love tripline's main website, but this app always feels way too limited. It's nice that you can easily add to existing lists or create new ones, but there isn't much else you can do. For instance why can't you look at the maps you've made up close? There are the thumbnails on the main list but that's it. It's weird that you can't look at your map after you've selected a map to look at. Basically, tripline offers a great service, that I haven't found anywhere else. I love using it to plan out itineraries and save trip ideas. But this app is in major need of an overhaul and feature expansion to bring it up to par with the main website. As of right now it's too simplistic, but there is definitely lots of potential.

### 2/5 — Still no update?

*2013-02-20, version 1.2*

Not updated since 2011? Have the developers lost interest? A great idea, good website but the app is an after thought it seems... Too bad

### 3/5 — Limited app

*2012-05-30, version 1.2*

Why doesn't the app allow you to share a trip?

### 1/5 — Move along, nothing to see here.

*2012-03-28, version 1.2*

Can't view your map on the app. And then the map in the desktop version won't connect the dots between cities in Asia after flying over from North America. Good thing it's free.

### 1/5 — Good idea, crappy app

*2012-02-29, version 1.2*

Not reliable, poor app. Never loads on 4G.

### 1/5 — What an absolute waste!

*2011-02-05, version 1.0*

Even if it is only 99 cents, this app is an absolute rip off. All it does is route you to tripline's mobile website. Not sure why you would want to spend a a buck to get there when u can get to it or free! Great website and idea, but horrible app!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No internet connection??

*2024-03-21, version 2.0*

I was trying to sign up for the new account. Every time I put my information and click to sign up, the red banner tells me that I am off line, and there’s no internet connection. ( I’ve been using my internet all day long on all devices!)

### 1/5 — Website is good, phone app is bad

*2023-06-13, version 2.0*

The website itself is good and useful for tracking. The phone app is very bad and not integrated. There are lots of things that you cant actually do on the phone app, that you need to get onto a computer and login to be able to do. Quite useless and annoying.

### 1/5 — Was great. What happened?

*2020-11-18, version 2.0*

I loved this mapping app for all the future trips I had in mind. But now I go to open it and it immediately shuts down. This is where I saved my trip ideas & I’m not looking forward to trying to remember the places I listed all over again. Hopefully there is an update to fix this!

### 1/5 — Won't Even Let You Log In

*2020-09-18, version 2.0*

an absolute waste of time

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2018-04-05, version 2.0*

Every time I try to open the app it says I need an internet connection or cellular service to open it, then goes to a Facebook error page. The whole time my phone was connected to internet. I guess I’ll just have to use the website instead.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2017-09-02, version 1.3*

Impossible to use. Cant change dates and times. Can't adjust much. DELETE!

### 1/5 — Nothing works

*2017-06-21, version 1.3*

I cant use the app

### 1/5 — Complete waste of time

*2016-08-23, version 1.3*

There are so many issues with this application that I simply had to post a review for the sake of others. Here are some highlights:

- Sign in problems
- Unable to change your default location
- No toggle for location services
- Terrible social integration that forces you to their website instead of showing the maps you've made

I could go on... But I honestly challenge you to play with this app for more than 5 minutes before uninstalling.

### 1/5 — Just bad

*2016-07-07, version 1.3*

This only takes you to the webpage. I can use safari for that and not waist space. Don't bother.

### 1/5 — Facebook Log In

*2012-12-09, version 1.2*

You can't access the app if you log in to the site through Facebook? Lame. Build in the authentication to work with mobile.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2021-07-31, version 2.0*

The best app that saves your triplines that I’ve ever tried so far!
I wish I knew this app since a long time!

### 5/5 — Incredibly good App

*2020-05-31, version 2.0*

This app and website are absolutely fantastic. All being developed by just one developer. Please support him on Patreon like I just did.
Thanks Byron! Keep up the great work (server seems to be working a bit slowly at the moment though!)

### 5/5 — Does what I had hoped it would

*2019-05-01, version 2.0*

Dead simple way to visually connect points on a map. From desktop plot my route, screen record, trim, and include in presentations.

Features I’d like to see are:
• ability to customize map appearance.
• smoother transitions betweens successive hops on the map

### 5/5 — New version is great for viewing

*2018-02-05, version 2.0*

It may be good for adding new trips but I haven’t taken any trips since version 2 came out. My previous trip plays perfectly now where before I had to go the desktop site to see animation and scroll through the pictures.

### 5/5 — Intriguing!

*2018-02-05, version 2.0*

Just installed it, but looks promising!

### 5/5 — Perfect for traveling with friends and recording an adventure

*2018-02-04, version 2.0*

I take lots of trips with friends and we have struggled to coordinate the logistics but not anymore! We now build different maps and compare our options. Once we pick an itin, we throw in all of our info (flights, hotels, car, restaurant options) and then use the app as our central system for keeping on top of it all. I especially like the ability to load in pictures while on the trip so you can relive the memories later!

### 5/5 — Love this app!!

*2018-02-04, version 1.3*

Best way to save all the places I’ve been. I add notes and pics as I check in, and at the end of each trip, I have a travel journal that I can share with family and friends.

### 5/5 — Helpful/Easy to use

*2014-02-04, version 1.2*

Awesome app.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2011-10-30, version 1.2*

Love it! So useful and easy to use. Nifty app!

### 3/5 — Great Concept, but Buggy

*2022-07-06, version 2.0*

I love the idea of this app. Build a trip route (via car, plane, foot, or waypoints), add photos & comments, and share it. Viewing can be done on the web - no app necessary!

Great so far.

But … editing an existing trip is awfully buggy. Stops can’t be reordered via the app. Trying to do so results in random changes to stop sequence and the route map. Once it’s messed up, it can only be fixed via Tripline’s (apparently not buggy) website, and on a computer, not an iOS device.

That’s a big problem.

So … until the developer resolves that issue, I’d steer clear of the app.
