## What is TripPhoto.app?

TripPhoto turns your travel photos into a living map. Upload your photos – their location data puts them in the right place automatically, connected by a clean route along real roads, railways and sea routes.

YOUR TRIP AT A GLANCE
• Photos land on the map automatically – by place and time taken
• Route coloured by transport: car, train, ship, flight, bike, walking
• Total distance and daily stages at a glance
• Elevation profile from the iPhone’s barometer
• Colour the route by speed, elevation or gradient – downhill blue, uphill red

RECORD ON THE ROAD
• Start right from your trip list – one tap and the trip is recording
• Everything at a glance while you travel: big buttons for photo, change transport, upload and stop
• The same buttons on the Lock Screen and in the cockpit widget
• Widgets for Home Screen and Lock Screen: today’s track, day band, year ring, live figures, cockpit
• Planned your route in advance? The app shows the next stop on the way, with distance and arrival time
• Starts by itself as soon as your iPhone connects to CarPlay or your car’s hands-free system
• Controls in Control Center and for the Action button
• Current recording also in CarPlay
• The route is recorded in the background, even with the screen off
• Without a connection, points are buffered and sent later by themselves
• If you stop for a long time, recording pauses by itself
• If the app is swiped away, the iPhone brings it back at the next change of location
• “Hey Siri, start recording in TripPhoto” – or press the Action button
• “Hey Siri, open Norway 2026 in TripPhoto” – Siri knows your trips

APPLE WATCH
• Start and stop recording right from your wrist
• “I’m here”: save the viewpoint without taking out your iPhone
• Distance and time of the current recording at a glance
• Workout mode for hikes and bike rides with heart rate – the workout is saved to Apple Health

FROM PHOTOS TO A STORY
• Map, photos, days and story on tabs; photos full screen with swipe and zoom
• Camera photos get place and time, even without location in the image
• With Apple Intelligence (on supported iPhones): title suggestions for your trip and short texts for each day – written on your iPhone, only from your trip’s own data
• On tripphoto.app: a story to read and share, photo map and year in review

WITH YOUR APPLE DEVICES
• Handoff: continue a trip from your iPhone on your Mac or iPad
• Your trips in iPhone search

SHARING
• Share trips with friends and family and comment together
• A link is all it takes – recipients don’t need an account
• Follow other travellers: when they publish a new trip, you get a notification

YOUR DATA BELONGS TO YOU
• Photos and locations are used only for your own trips
• You decide which trip stays private
• No ad tracking, no sharing for advertising
• Take all your data with you at any time, delete your account completely in the app

SAFE ON THE ROAD
If you’re driving, start before you set off – after that everything runs by itself. While driving, a passenger or Siri operates the app.

TripPhoto is free, with no ads and no purchases.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-09-25

Version 1.1 adds new widgets, brings your planned route along for the ride and
tidies up the trip view.

WIDGETS
• Track: today’s route as a line, with place, distance and duration
• Day band: the day as a timeline, coloured by means of transport
• Year ring: this year’s distance and trips as a ring
• Drive: speed, elevation and transport of the current recording
• Diary: the last few days, one below the other
• Cockpit: photo, waypoint, pause, transport and stop right in the widget
• On the Lock Screen: transport, distance, place and next stop
• The two widgets from the first release are gone. If one of them is still on
your Home Screen, press and hold it and remove it – the new ones are waiting

PLANNED ROUTE ON THE ROAD
• A route you planned in advance can be selected before you set off
  (planning happens on tripphoto.app)
• While travelling, the app, Lock Screen and widget show the next stop with
  distance and estimated arrival
• Stops you reach are ticked off automatically

TRIP VIEW
• Map, photos, days and story now sit on tabs
• View photos full screen, swipe and zoom
• Delete a trip by swiping in the list

RECORDING
• Start sheet: continue or start a new trip – asked once, asked clearly
• Car detection: when your iPhone connects to CarPlay or your car’s hands-free
system, recording can start by itself
• Recorded points without a trip can be assigned later or discarded
• Motorhome as its own type of trip

SMALL THINGS
• Calmer colours and a more legible typeface
• The map follows the system’s light or dark appearance
• Search your photo library for photos from a trip
• Delete your account without a password, via a confirmation link
• Title suggestions reliably name the region of the trip
