## What is TripPocket?

Open the app, enter the amount, choose a category, and save. Add a note or photo only when it helps.

TripPocket is a focused expense log for international vacations and business trips. Record spending in the local currency, see it in your chosen reporting currency, review scanned receipts, and export your trip as CSV. A travel photo becomes the cover for a streamlined entry screen that keeps the amount, conversion, category, optional note, and receipt actions together.

ONE STREAMLINED ENTRY SCREEN
• Enter the amount prominently and see the converted value
• Pick a frequently used category with one tap
• Add an optional note, with quick suggestions for common purchases
• Reach receipt scanning and purchase photos directly
• Set the date, payment method, or per-expense rate only when needed
• Dismiss the amount or note keyboard by tapping outside the field

KEEP EACH TRIP ORGANIZED
• Create multiple trips and keep their records separate
• Switch trips to enter expenses or review History and Summary
• Set a cover photo, destination, dates, and budget for each trip
• Choose the local and reporting currencies per trip
• Use automatic exchange rates or set a fixed trip rate

CURRENCY CONVERSION FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
• Enter spending in the local currency and report it in your chosen currency
• Use the latest reference rate for today or a historical rate for the expense date
• Enter a manual rate per expense for the actual card or exchange-office rate
• Reuse a saved rate and keep recording when a connection is unavailable
• Backfill expenses that are waiting for conversion from History when you are online

Exchange rates are reference values. The amount charged by a card issuer or exchange office may differ.

RECEIPT OCR WITH A MANUAL DOUBLE-CHECK
• Scan with the camera or choose a receipt from your photo library
• On-device OCR extracts the total and suggested line items
• Re-enter the total from the receipt to confirm that it matches
• Review each item name and amount before saving
• If anything changes after review, TripPocket clears the check and asks you to verify again
• Save the receipt total as a parent record and its items as child records
• Include only the parent total in summaries to prevent double counting

When item totals do not match the receipt total, you can review the difference and explicitly save a partial breakdown. A scan is never treated as the final answer without your check.

PHOTOS, NOTES, SUMMARIES, AND CSV
• Attach a receipt or purchase photo to an expense
• Add an optional note for what you bought
• Search, edit, or delete records from History
• Review budget, remaining amount, daily spending, and category totals
• Export every record in a trip as CSV for spreadsheets or expense reporting

PRIVACY BY DESIGN
• No account required
• No ads or tracking
• Expenses, notes, photos, and trip information stay on your device
• Receipt image text recognition is processed on your device

The entry screen has been completely redesigned. See your trip photo and remaining budget while reaching the amount, currency, category, optional note, receipt, and purchase photo actions quickly. Receipt OCR now requires a manual double-check: re-enter the total and verify every item. Editing a reviewed result clears its confirmation and asks you to check again. The total is saved as a parent and items as children, preventing double counting in summaries. You can also dismiss amount and note keyboards by tapping outside, and photo actions are easier to reach.
