## What is TripSync360?

TripSync keeps everyone on the same page during a school field trip — organizers, chaperones, and parents — without the chaos of group texts, scattered emails, or last-minute phone calls.

Built specifically for school field trips, TripSync gives the trip organizer one place to plan the day, the chaperones a simple way to share updates from the road, and parents the peace of mind of knowing where
their child's group is and how things are going.

— WHAT YOU CAN DO —

For organizers
• Set up a trip with stops, groups, and a student roster
• Invite chaperones and parents by email
• Watch the trip unfold in real time from the trip feed
• Keep optional health notes attached to a student so chaperones have what they need

For chaperones
• See the students assigned to your group
• Post photos and updates to the trip feed
• Check in at each stop so parents know where the group is
• Record headcounts at a glance
• Message the trip organizer or a parent privately

For parents
• Follow the trip feed for your child's class
• See your child's chaperone and groupmates
• Know which stop the group is at right now
• Message your child's chaperone directly if you need to

— DESIGNED FOR SCHOOLS —

• No GPS tracking. Check-ins are the names of stops the organizer set up (e.g. "Visitor Center"), not coordinates. Children are never tracked on a map.
• No ads. No third-party advertising. No tracking SDKs.
• Children do not have accounts. Only adults — staff, chaperones, and parents — sign in.
• Student information is visible only to the organizer of the trip, the chaperone of the student's group, and the student's own parents or guardians.
• Photos are stored privately and are only visible to participants of the trip they were posted in.

— PRIVACY FIRST —

TripSync is built around the idea that a school trip app shouldn't be hoovering up data. We don't collect location, contacts, calendar, microphone, or browsing activity. We don't sell or share personal
information. Read our full privacy policy at https://surfcx.github.io/tripsync/privacy-policy.html.

— WHO IT'S FOR —

TripSync is intended for adults: teachers and other school staff who organize trips, parent volunteers who chaperone, and parents/guardians of children participating in a trip. Schools and organizers are
responsible for obtaining the necessary parental consent before adding student information.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-04-17

Delete a trip — Organizers can now delete an archived trip from the trip header menu. Archive the trip first, then delete. Associated posts, groups, students, messages, check-ins, and uploaded media are removed. Active or draft trips can't be deleted directly — archive them first.

Delete your account — Self-serve account deletion is now available from the profile screen for parents and chaperones. Removes your authentication record and clears your personal data; historical posts and messages are preserved as "Deleted user" so group conversations stay intact. Organizers must delete or transfer their trips first.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-04-13

# TripSync v1.1.1 Release Notes

**Released:** 2026-04-12
**Since:** v1.1.0

## New Features

- **Profile photo upload** — Tap your avatar on the profile screen to upload a photo from your library. Photos are cropped to a square, resized, and displayed everywhere your avatar appears (feed, trips list, messages, group rosters). Falls back to initials when no photo is set.

- **Welcome carousel on first sign-in** — New users now see a welcome carousel introducing TripSync before entering the app.

- **Organizer as group chaperone** — Organizers can now be assigned as a group's chaperone, enabling the full chaperone UX (My Group tab, check-in/headcount, parent conversations) for small trips where the organizer is also leading a group. No database migration required.

- **Native date & time pickers for schedule items** — Restored the native date picker (`@react-native-community/datetimepicker`) now that dev-client builds are standard. Added a new time picker for schedule items. The schedule editor's Add modal now includes Day, Time, and Label fields.

- **App version in profile** — The app version is now displayed on the profile screen.

## Bug Fixes

- **Setup hub GO_BACK crash** — Fixed a crash when pressing back on the setup hub with no navigation history.

- **Name-setup double navigation** — Fixed an issue where the name-setup screen could trigger navigation twice on first sign-in.

- **Feed tab bar refresh after chaperone reassignment** — The feed's "My Group" tab now correctly appears or disappears when an organizer assigns/unassigns themselves as a group chaperone, without requiring a manual refresh.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-04-11

- Password visibility toggle on login and profile screens
- Keyboard no longer covers input fields in setup modals

### 1.0 — 2026-04-10
