## What is TriTrainer?

TriTrainer builds your triathlon training plan around your race.

Tell it when you're racing, how far each leg is, and roughly how much you train now. It works out weekly swim, bike and run targets that build toward race day, with easier recovery weeks along the way, a limit on how big your hardest week gets, and a taper at the end so you're not going in tired.

Setting up a plan

Pick your race date. Enter the distances for each sport and your current weekly volume. That's it. You get a full plan with a target for every week, by sport and combined, so you can see straight away whether you're keeping up.

It keeps up with you

The plan doesn't sit still. Each week it looks at what you actually did and adjusts the weeks ahead. Train hard and it asks a bit more of you next time. Have a quiet week and it backs off. There's a short weekly check-in for how you're feeling, sleep, tiredness, sore legs, and that feeds in too.

Get ill or injured, or go away for work, and you can mark the week as time off. It won't count as a missed week, and when you come back the plan eases you in rather than dropping you straight back to where you were.

Your training, counted for you

Connect Strava or Apple Health and your sessions come in on their own as weekly distances. Apple Health picks up new workouts not long after you finish them. You can always type a session in by hand, and a manual entry takes priority over everything else.

Seeing how it's going

A readiness view tells you if you're on course to reach your peak, sport by sport, and what to add if one is falling behind. If your workouts record heart rate you also get fitness, fatigue and form, an intensity breakdown against the usual 80/20 split, and a grid of the weeks you hit. Time off doesn't break your streak.

More than one race

You can run several plans at once with A, B and C priorities, lay them out on a season view, and the home screen leads with the race you're actually working towards right now.

Training with other people

Start a group, send a link, and you can all see each other's weekly progress by sport. It helps to know someone's keeping an eye on you.

On your watch

There's an Apple Watch app and a complication, so this week's numbers are there when you look down. Show percent done, distance done or distance left, whichever suits you.

TriTrainer is free. No ads, and no trackers following you around. The same account works on the website.

TriTrainer works out training targets from the numbers you give it. It isn't medical advice. Check with a doctor before you start training or make a big change to how you train.
