## What is Trombone Trainer?

Trombone Trainer is a trombone slide position chart and practice game for brass players. Pick an exercise, hit play, and move to the correct slide position as each note sounds — the app scores your trombone slide positions in real time and highlights the note you're on, so you build the link between what you see on the staff, what you hear, and where your slide goes.

Built for trombonists:
• Interactive slide position chart — the on-screen chart shows the right slide position for every note (all seven), and real-time scoring gives you credit for holding it as the note plays, with a clean-run detector that rewards mistake-free passes.
• Transcribe by ear — play a passage on your instrument and the app writes it onto the staff, note by note, in your key, so you can build or fix a song without tapping each one.
• Bass-clef staff — everything is written and read in bass clef, the way trombone music actually looks.
• Play-along loops — eight measures on the staff, played back with a piano-style chord under each measure, so you train positions in a musical context, not in silence.
• Alternate positions — set your own preferred slide position for notes that can be played in more than one place.
• Swipe to control — swipe left/right to change tempo.
• Trombone scales and studies — built-in libraries of major and minor scales, chromatics, arpeggios, and technical etudes for daily brass practice.
• Track your progress — daily/weekly/monthly trends, streaks, and unlockable badges, plus a full stats screen for every song with an accuracy-over-time chart. Your best score, average, and attempt count show right in the song list.

New — 120 Digital Patterns in your library: ten pattern families across all twelve keys, written in the trombone's own register. Learner Mode's note-name hint is now twice the size, and notes no longer overlap when you move on to an open position. Chords transpose with the key at last — they used to move the wrong pitch — and iOS gets a distinct buzz for a clean run.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-08-24

New — F-attachment trigger: switch it on in Settings to reach the low range with a thumb trigger, just like a real F-attachment trombone. The on-screen trigger lights up and the slide positions adapt, all scored in real time. Plus a new Appearance setting (Light, Dark, or System), the note name now shows under the slide-position hint in Learner Mode, and a handful of visual refinements.
