## What is troth?

Keep your promises. Live a life worth remembering.

troth is a companion for the life you mean to live, in three parts.

BECOME
Build a habit with one tap a day, or quit something and let troth count the days. Write each promise in your own words, and troth reads them back to you at every milestone. Every quit promise has Hold On: ninety seconds of breathing for the hard hour.

LIVE
Write down the moments you lived: a trip, a first, a day you want to keep. If you don't remember the day, the year is enough. Beside them, Someday keeps what you hope to live, with a date that never turns late. When you are ready, make a someday a promise.

REFLECT
When a month closes (or two weeks, or a season: you choose), troth writes it as a chapter, on your device, from your own record: what you kept, what you lived, and when you came back. A year's chapters gather in its book. A bad week bends the line. It doesn't erase it.

Widgets for your Home Screen. Works offline. No ads, no tracking, and your data is never sold.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.0 — 2026-10-26

Moments: write down what you lived and want to remember, and what you hope to live someday. When a someday is ready, make it a promise. Open Moments from your board.

Your moments come back: each year on its date, a moment you lived shows on your board. Each chapter of your book lists what you lived in it.

A moment of reflection: at most once a week, your board shows one true fact from your record, with a thought or a question to sit with.

Two new widgets: Lived puts a moment you lived on your Home Screen, and From your record shows a new fact about your promises each day.

A vow each morning: turn on the morning reminder in Settings, and one of your own vows starts your day.

Swipe a promise: slide a row on your board to either side, then tap Edit, Archive or Delete.

Share what you think: Feedback in Settings sends a note straight to troth's maker.

Your own colors: a color you pick now looks the way you picked it.

Also: once a season, troth can bring back a someday and ask if it still matters. Insights can show your strongest promise first. Share a milestone from its line, and tap a dot in the share sheet to pick a card. Messages close on their own, and signing out turns off your reminders.

### 2.0 — 2026-10-12

The Book: a cover and Contents for each year's chapters.

A new board: one row per promise. Open a row to see its week and the milestone it is heading for.

Quotes: keep the lines that carry you, and shuffle them or pin one to head your board.

A plan for the hard day: why you made the promise, what you can do instead, and who can help. Hold On shows it when an urge comes.

A new promise page: its vow, its milestones with their dates, its record since the first day, and for a quit promise, its urges.

One Insights page for all your promises. On an iPad held upright and full screen, Insights and each promise's page use two columns.

Every share card now opens from one sheet.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-13

Sign in with Apple or Google, a redrawn record, and your mood beside your promises.

Sign in with Apple or Google. If you already have an account, sign in the usual way and connect either one from Settings. Your promises and streaks stay where they are.

Every calendar and streak in troth is redrawn. A day is a small mark on a ruled line: a kept day is filled, a missed day is a ring with a gap, a rest day is a faint dot, and today stays open until you check in. You will see it on the home screen, on each promise, in Insights, in the letters, on the share posters and on the widgets.

Insights puts how your days felt directly under the promises graph, on the same days, and a new card, Every mood's days, shows what you kept on the days you named each mood. The evidence band counts what you sealed each day, and a day never changes once it is over.

Marking a slip records it the moment you tap, before anything else is asked. Then it asks what set it off and offers a line in your own words. Both are optional, and the note is readable back on that day in the record.

New icons throughout, and the widgets draw a missed day correctly again.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-05

Promises that don't have to be every day, and a letter that arrives sooner.

A promise can now ask for a few days a week, or a number of days a month. Rest days stop looking like misses, and every streak, calendar and chart counts only the days you were actually asked.

Making a promise is one decision at a time: name it, choose build or quit, say how often, write the vow, and watch it settle into your board. Editing one is the same list, a line per decision.

The record notices. One earned line a day under Today: a first entry, a comeback, a whole month kept. Your next milestone shows up as a date on the board.

The first letter arrives on day eight instead of at the end of the month. Each letter remembers what it said last time, and you can write one line back that the next one quotes.

This update is required. The account data underneath changed, and earlier versions of troth can no longer sync.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-01

A new look, and a lot more honesty in the numbers.

troth has been redrawn: a seal you stamp when you keep your word, a quieter palette, and an Insights page that leads with a sentence instead of a wall of charts.

Underneath, 25 arithmetic fixes. A held quit promise no longer reads 0 days after midnight. A month says "kept every day" while today is still pending. The shared poster stops drawing days from before your promise existed. The letter stops calling a milestone your longest run when it wasn't. Slips and reminder times stay put when you travel.

And a new first run: five screens that show you the app working instead of describing it.
