## What is troth?

Some promises are easy to make and hard to keep. The gym on the morning you don't want to. The thing you swore off. The person you're not texting back.

troth is for those.

Write the promise in your own words. On day 30, the you who meant it is still there to say why.

Then check in once a day. One tap. Quit promises count themselves, so a day you never opened the app can't break a promise you actually kept.

Hold On is for the hard hour: your own words, your streak on the line, and 90 seconds of breathing. "I held on" gets logged. So does "I slipped."

Note how the day felt, and troth shows you whether your promises held on the heavy days.

When the month closes, troth writes you a short letter about it: what you held, what came back, what you didn't. Written on your phone, from your own record, and sent nowhere.

Progress isn't always linear, and the charts know it. A bad week bends the line. It doesn't erase it. There are no points to chase.

Works offline. Syncs to your other devices. Widgets for your home screen. No ads, no tracking.

Keep your promises. troth remembers why you made them.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-09-13

Sign in with Apple or Google, a redrawn record, and your mood beside your promises.

Sign in with Apple or Google. If you already have an account, sign in the usual way and connect either one from Settings. Your promises and streaks stay where they are.

Every calendar and streak in troth is redrawn. A day is a small mark on a ruled line: a kept day is filled, a missed day is a ring with a gap, a rest day is a faint dot, and today stays open until you check in. You will see it on the home screen, on each promise, in Insights, in the letters, on the share posters and on the widgets.

Insights puts how your days felt directly under the promises graph, on the same days, and a new card, Every mood's days, shows what you kept on the days you named each mood. The evidence band counts what you sealed each day, and a day never changes once it is over.

Marking a slip records it the moment you tap, before anything else is asked. Then it asks what set it off and offers a line in your own words. Both are optional, and the note is readable back on that day in the record.

New icons throughout, and the widgets draw a missed day correctly again.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-05

Promises that don't have to be every day, and a letter that arrives sooner.

A promise can now ask for a few days a week, or a number of days a month. Rest days stop looking like misses, and every streak, calendar and chart counts only the days you were actually asked.

Making a promise is one decision at a time: name it, choose build or quit, say how often, write the vow, and watch it settle into your board. Editing one is the same list, a line per decision.

The record notices. One earned line a day under Today: a first entry, a comeback, a whole month kept. Your next milestone shows up as a date on the board.

The first letter arrives on day eight instead of at the end of the month. Each letter remembers what it said last time, and you can write one line back that the next one quotes.

This update is required. The account data underneath changed, and earlier versions of troth can no longer sync.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-01

A new look, and a lot more honesty in the numbers.

troth has been redrawn: a seal you stamp when you keep your word, a quieter palette, and an Insights page that leads with a sentence instead of a wall of charts.

Underneath, 25 arithmetic fixes. A held quit promise no longer reads 0 days after midnight. A month says "kept every day" while today is still pending. The shared poster stops drawing days from before your promise existed. The letter stops calling a milestone your longest run when it wasn't. Slips and reminder times stay put when you travel.

And a new first run: five screens that show you the app working instead of describing it.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-24

No release notes.
