It made exploring Rome feel like an adventure rather than a lesson. I learnt so much without it ever feeling overwhelming or like I was being lectured. What I loved most was being able to explore entirely at my own pace. Unlike a traditional tour, there was no pressure to keep up with a group, no rushing past something I found interesting, and no feeling guilty for stopping for a coffee, a gelato, or simply taking a moment to soak everything in. If something fascinated me, I could spend as long as I wanted there. If I wanted to move on, I could. The trails were brilliant and gave us a real sense of structure. Rome can feel incredibly overwhelming when you first arrive because there is just so much to see, but the app made everything feel manageable and purposeful. Instead of wandering aimlessly and worrying we were missing something important, we felt guided while still having complete freedom. The content itself was fantastic. I especially loved the section about growing up as a girl during the Roman era. It was such a lovely touch because so much of what you hear about Ancient Rome tends to focus on powerful men, politics and warfare. I can’t recommend this app enough. We loved that they cheerfully marched along without complaining about how tired they were, allowing us to really take in the city and the history as a family. I cannot recommend this enough to families. We particularly loved the Heart of Rome Neptune’s Trident Trail.
