## What is TruCal?

TruCal is a calorie and macro tracker built around one principle: your data stays on your phone.

No account required. No subscription. No server ever sees your food log. Everything is stored locally, backed up and restored by you, on your terms.

Daily Tracking
Log breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks with a searchable database of whole foods. Add items by weight, edit entries, and swipe to delete. Navigate any day — past or present — and backlog meals you forgot to record.

Smart Daily Coaching
TruCal reads the time of day and tells you where you stand against your calorie curve — not just a number, but context. Running low? Ahead of pace? It nudges you toward protein targets too.

Barcode Scanner
Scan packaged foods to pull nutrition data automatically. Scanned items save to your personal food library for fast re-use.

Saved Meals & Recipes
Build recipes from any foods in the database, then add them to any meal with a single tap. Perfect for meals you repeat.

My Foods Library
Create custom foods with your own nutrition data. Scan, create, and manage a personal library that appears everywhere you search.

Macro Tracking
Set your own protein, carbs, and fat targets. Animated progress rings and bars show your daily split at a glance.

Insights
7-day calorie and protein trends, logging streak, average intake, and best/worst day against your goal. Includes a kJ-to-kcal converter and macro-to-calorie calculator.

Metric & Imperial
Full support for kg/cm and lbs/inches. Optional oz equivalents shown alongside grams when using Imperial.

Export & Import
Back up your entire food log as a JSON file. Restore it any time. TruCal never uploads anything anywhere.
