It’s a great game. There has been some updates in the Middle Ages that almost made me stop playing, but I never did and every update since those times has always been at least small improvements but the past few updates have really been good ones for the most part. I’ve probably invested a couple hundred bucks over the years on clams and storms. I hadn’t updated in a year or better until I updated a couple weeks ago. and have really enjoyed all of the new updates, like the new spots, and the missions with rewards beyond shakas and the new spots, as well as the beta features with the new physics and first person view while surfing. I only learned today that there’s another update with minor bug fixes and the air time adjustment on that mission. Now, with all of that said, the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is this: Over the past 2 or three years I know I’ve completed level 27 at LEAST 5 times. I just completed it again since the update a couple of weeks ago, but I’m still level 27. What gives? I’m not bothered by it enough to effect how how much I want to play, but it would be cool to be able to hit the pro level. Honestly I’d still give it a 5 but I figured 3 would get more attention. ### 4/5 — So much better but… *2026-07-22* Latest updates have saved this game. But can’t believe you haven’t implemented a simple way to do grabs with airs and it’s still way too easy to punch out the back of the wave when snapping in the pocket. As long as you keep the initial movement more of a carve it keeps you on but sometimes it would feel much better if you could snap vertically especially on the backhand. The feeling of the power and weight of water pushing you back down the face could be so much better. Looking forward to the bugs being fixed because I’m enjoying it so far. It resets my progress on a mission if it crashes though so… yeah the bugs that just crash the game are a bit much. ### 2/5 — Fix the bugs PLEASE *2026-06-30* [Update] Since being on iOS 26, it does this less frequently. It still happens but it’s rare. Now on snapper rocks, im stuck on mission 2, for almost 1 year because even though the game shows me I caught much more air than necessary, the mission keeps saying I still need to do that air. This is tooo long for something to be broken [/Update] Im so sick of wasting Perfect Storms because of a silly bug that has been present for at least one year, probably two years. I’ve written to true axis support about this, a long time ago. Sometimes, when I try to open settings to change something (usually intending to turn off auto drop-in, or change the control sensitivity), rather than settings opening, a tutorial begins to play. When I choose to exit the tutorial (by saying yes, skip the tutorial) my Perfect Storm has ended. Even if I just started it several seconds before. This isn’t the only bad effect of this bug - it also resets my HUD settings, and other settings. Not ALL of them. It’s always the same group of settings that are reset. Im #%@!ing sick of it. I’ve even deleted the app, hard reset my phone and reinstalled it, which destroyed my progress, and did not fix the bug. iPhone 11, iOS 18.5. (But this bug has persisted since at least 17.0, maybe iOS 16 even. Im on the latest true surf update. Please help! **Developer response:** Thanks for your detailed response. Noted and we are on it. ### 4/5 — Please read 👇🏿 *2026-06-29* I got this game about a year ago and played it for a long time because i was into surfing and learnt how to do things differently thanks to the game. I then got bored of surfing and the game because i think there should be a few things that would make the game more enjoyable and addictive. 1. Make a first person view, this will make the experience cooler and more realistic than looking from afar. 2. There should be a sandbox mode, u pick a location pick the time the size of the waves and more. U don’t have a time limit on it or any limits, u can also try boards and other equipment before buying to make sure u like it. Also have you tried the new missions on historical epic swells? ### 4/5 — Awesome but could be better *2026-06-26, version 1.1.69* I’ve been playing this game for 3 months now, and it’s still a blast, but there’s a couple things you could add that would make this game even better. 1st, I think that if there was a feature that allowed people to create there home breaks and use a pre set swell size decided by the player. so I could surf Lake Michigan and anyone can surf their own break if the weather isn’t cooperating. 2nd, I love the graphics, but it’s missing something. For example, the pier at Huntington Beach makes it iconic, but it’s not even visible in the game, I think that this and many others could make the game so much better. I know this is a big ask for ur developers, but I think it’s worth it, as it will draw tons of new players to True Surf. Before that I would pay this game religiously. The way they simulate the motion of the oceans waves is insane, the game is so relaxing and truly beautiful. I paid $2.99/month for the endless perfect waves and no lie, it was freakin addicting haha. I’ll check back in every so often, I’m sure they’ll fix the bug. Just hope it happens before this game like many others falls back into the obscurity of time in between plays and I never play it again lol. For weeks I haven’t been able to complete the air challenges on any of the surf spots i currently have the challenge in. I looked it up and many people also have this problem and their posts are from years ago. The developers put no effort in fixing issues. ### 1/5 — This game used to be good *2026-07-17, version 1.1.71* This game used to be fun to play, now the developers have made it really difficult to collect clams which in turn makes it really difficult to collect surfboards which makes it difficult to unlock new breaks. The “realistic” wave heights make it hard to get good waves so you have to spend clams on perfect storms. Only problem is they did not fix the game crash on mission 2 at cloud breaks. Everytime you try to do mission 2 it crashes and boots you out. Developers have still not rolled out a fix. The developers should just make surf ranch available since they obviously can’t fix this issue and by compensating players due to unwanted stress trying to pass a mission that is almost impossible because this crash issue, due to developers negligence on this issue. I would like a realistic mode where you can run of the beach into the water and you have to paddle out to get out the back or even after you ride a wave. Also adding multiplayer competitions that you can request your friend to play or randoms (kinda like a quick play mode) over than that keep the good work up. New update is cool, and a step in the right direction, but I have already bought everything in the shop, and have 450,000 clams only being spent on perfect storms. I really hope that the developers keep the forward momentum going and add new boards, it would be sick to see lost or channel islands, or maybe something a little different like album. It would also be cool to see customization like stomp pads, fins and stickers. Wow this game is as close to surfing on a screen as your gonna get!! If your an old school ripper use the curves of the board buried on rail to turn then 10-15ft epic g-Land on the Simon Anderson pin tale is gonna get you frothing don’t even look at the scores turn all that off and just tear bags out of it! The scarcity of clam availability without putting down some serious real clams(only means of purchasing boards) is the only thing holding the game back from a no conditional 5star rating. Thank you developers for creating an fn sick game yeewwww. I’ll give 5 stars updated old tablet wow thers spray and everything on the later versions. Not really into the current style of multiple 360s and frothing up and down on the spot in the barrel.
