## What is TrueDetect Device Test?

TrueDetect Device Test checks the hardware of an iPhone and reports exactly what it measured.

Tap Full Test and the app works through the device one function at a time: display and touch, front and rear cameras, speaker and microphone, vibration, buttons, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, the motion sensors, the compass, the proximity sensor, charging, and the battery. Each check ends in a clear result you can read at a glance, and every card can be opened to see the underlying measurement behind it.

Two things guide the whole app:

REAL READINGS, NEVER GUESSES
A value is shown only when the device itself reports it. Where iOS does not expose something, the app says so instead of filling the gap with an estimate. A result you cannot trust is worse than no result.

A FINDING, NOT JUST A VERDICT
When a check does not pass, the app states what it found - which part, and what was measured - so the reason is on the screen rather than left to memory.

Any test can also be run on its own from Manual Test, which is useful when you want to re-check a single function after handling the device.

The app is made by K-Device Lab for businesses that inspect used iPhones and need an honest, repeatable record of a handset's condition. It is free, contains no advertising, and offers nothing to purchase.

### 7.13 — 2026-09-10

The Parts Authentication card now shows the parts result that the verdict was actually based on, and any part that failed is highlighted in red so the reason is visible on the same screen. Part names and results are also translated into the device language.

### 7.12 — 2026-09-09

The grading screen now speaks your language. The LCD Shade and Device Grade labels were showing in English on Korean and Chinese devices; they are translated now, and Japanese has been added. Your own grading terms are shown exactly as you type them, in any language. The grade and shade choices also wrap onto a second row when there are many of them, or when the words are long, instead of being squeezed onto one line.

### 7.11 — 2026-09-03

Accuracy fixes to the hardware checks. Cellular and NFC no longer report a fault on models whose driver could not be read, so a healthy device is not marked failed. A test that has already run no longer shows "Not tested yet" on its result card.

### 7.10 — 2026-08-27

Microphone test: each microphone is now recorded through the same audio route the speaker test uses, and the physical microphone is selected before its data source. On some iPhones the bottom microphone was previously reported as silent when it was working normally.

Microphone result card: only a microphone that is not working is listed, with what is wrong with it in plain words.

Camera test: a frame with nothing in it - a covered lens, a dark room, a blank wall - is now reported as "not graded" instead of being judged for sharpness.
