### 2/5 — Annoying

*2026-08-18, version 6.11*

The app has good options to follow the teacher and play along, but it quite a few major flaws.
1. It’s super annoying. Keeps nagging me to enable notifications, constantly pushes me to buy more content. I already have what I want. I don’t need to be upsold every second.
2. There’s no option to slow down the music without losing the pitch. It just slows down the playback instead of intelligently changing the rhythm. Moises.AI does this very well for example.
3. If the teacher gives an introduction, there’s no way to proceed to playing. I have to scroll there manually and then hope I do it precisely enough to have time to move my hand back to the position before the action starts.

### 4/5 — Top platform

*2026-05-13, version 6.11*

É veramente un ottima app

### 3/5 — Glitchy

*2026-05-07, version 6.11*

Crashes. Glitches

### 2/5 — Great courses, awful app

*2026-04-28, version 6.11*

I’d buy more courses if they updated the glitchy app. Feels the same today as it did 5 years ago - and it wasn’t good then! The buttons aren’t very responsive, and sometimes totally non responsive. Freezes. Selecting portions of the song to loop is a chore. The list goes on and on. It’s an app I use a lot despite the experience. Would consider All Access with an overhaul.

### 2/5 — Search bar

*2026-04-09, version 6.11*

Every time a search a name. I get no results. And I know that name is someone on your platform.

### 2/5 — IPAD app is not great, crashes a lot.

*2026-04-02, version 6.11*

Read the above.

### 4/5 — Guitar Lessons

*2026-03-25, version 6.11*

Great app. Easy to follow lesson plans. Great instructors with tons of experience. Many different styles of guitar playing.
If you can’t find something to learn from on this app, then you don’t know what you are looking for.
Keep up the great work.

### 3/5 — Good but could be better

*2026-03-11, version 6.11*

It works but the play pause feature or slider to fast forward or rewind is a bit temperamental when doing lessons , other than that I’m happy with it. Not a deal breaker by any means

### 5/5 — Totally satisfied !

*2026-01-28*

Very good trachées for all levels. Good matériels

### 2/5 — Bait and switch

*2026-01-12, version 6.11*

You pay for "all access" and a ton of content costs extra. No indication of that in the description. Some good lessons though. Not a great value, but a mediocre one.

### 3/5 — Just as wonky as it was 8 years ago.

*2026-01-05, version 6.11*

You can never get back to the home page without closing the app and restarting it. I just started using this app again. I had to do that 8 years ago and was thinking they would have fixed that by now. This isn’t a judgement of the content. The content is great. I’ve kept my phone and app updated and I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro at the moment. But I don’t see any difference between now and then which I find surprising. I wish they’d do a little makeover with the app just to fix its navigational abilities. Am I the only one with this problem? Without getting back to home page I can’t find the tools/tuner menu unless there is another way to get there. But I couldn’t find it. Just need to get back to that home page to check tuning once in a while. And then I’d go 4 stars. 5 stars would be if they improved pop up and casting performance. Pop ups seem to be hard to get rid of and the casting button can get hidden behind a pop up. Sometimes I have to close the program and restart just to get rid of pop ups just like I do to get back to the home page. Generally I’m rebooting 2 or 3 times a lesson. It’s annoying. I love True Fire but it really is time for them to come along and fix these things in the app. I generally use my phone for this. Everything works much better on a laptop and there is no issues. Just the iPhone.

### 5/5 — Amazing Teachers.

*2025-12-18, version 6.11*

Therevis such a big collection of amazing teachers. After going through a few lessons, I bought the all access.

### 3/5 — No Joy

*2025-12-16, version 6.11*

Tons of content and spent a full year sifting thru it for something of interest. I admit it at first finding the options to be overwhelming. Then over that first year became increasingly frustrated looking for something of interest and finding nothing. Eventually had to admit I was better off with YouTube and canceled my unlimited subscription. No Joy.

Suggest taking a good look at available content before making the jump. Three stars only because there’s so much stuff that it may be great for somebody.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Miese App

*2026-07-22*

Die App ist ein Riesenmist, stoppt dauernd die Wiedergabe, dann ruckelt es, dann wird nachgeladen…… Dafür zahle ich nicht, auch wenn die Kurse gut zu sein scheinen.

### 1/5 — Freezes up constantly

*2026-06-24, version 6.11*

Just signed up. Paid for a full year. Love the lessons but they keep freezing up on me…..if this continues I will be asking for a refund…..and I have tried 3 different Wi-Fi connections to get it to work…still freezes up

### 1/5 — Could you make this any harder?

*2026-05-08, version 6.11*

After two hours of trying, I can login on my phone but not my iPad. I am so sick of this stupid program.

### 1/5 — Log in experience nightmare

*2026-04-25, version 6.11*

Terrible

### 1/5 — La app va lenta y peta

*2026-04-14, version 6.11*

La app va lenta y peta en infinidad de sitios… revisad bien ese código

### 1/5 — Logging In

*2026-01-20, version 6.11*

My name and password, which are carefully typed in, spit out back to meas a failure to log in. A very inconvenient app to operate.

### 1/5 — Really bad workflow

*2026-01-06*

This is one of the worst music apps I know, especially in light of the money TrueFire charges for courses or annual plans etc. Why is it so hard to loop videos? With the tiny conrols its hit and miss and there seems no logic whatsoever behind it. Also, you need to buy another app to loop the guitar sheets/pdfs. What? Practising is no fun this way and while the instructors might offer valuable material it is hard to really benefit from it. Also, the app is still as unusable as a few years ago. Really, TrueFire? Are you guys only concerned with taking our money and offering no significant improvements re. Workflow and ease of use?

### 1/5 — Brutal app. Can’t access the content I paid for.

*2025-12-14, version 6.11*

App rarely works. Usually crashes immediately or within minutes. The main purpose of the app seems to be to sell me more content, despite that I paid for “all access,” and the content I paid for is inaccessible.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-11-08, version 6.11*

The app crashes all the time. The buttons are unresponsive.I bought many courses but this app is ruining my learning experience.

### 1/5 — Clunky app

*2025-10-22, version 6.11*

Good lessons wasted on a truly horrible user interface and experience. Very clunky. Not going to use this app - rather go to the artists own website if at all possible.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Content - Tech is Inconsistent

*2026-08-22, version 6.11*

The primary value for TrueFire is the content. Teaching and explanation are levels above Yousician and similar apps. The syncing with tabs could be improved. It would be better in many of the lessons to have a full screen PDF and a small video window, but there’s limited ability to adjust the framing.

### 5/5 — Notification popup every single time I open the app

*2026-08-18, version 6.11*

The Turn on Notifications nag hits you every time you open the app. Only option is “maybe later,” which means next time you open the app. One star remains until they remove this sleazy popup

### 5/5 — Top lesson

*2026-07-23*

Bravo et merci

### 5/5 — Great Stuff!

*2026-07-18, version 6.11*

I’ve flirted with TrueFire for a few years before finally diving in. Once you are on board in the app, there are so many learning options. The lessons are clear, accurate, and fun. Each lesson builds on the material learned in previous modules, which is a solid, time tested approach to teaching. I strongly recommend TrueFire to beginners and intermediate players.

### 5/5 — Functional

*2026-06-21*

I prefer to access TrueFire over web browser because of screen size, anyway, the app has same good functionality. So much stuff to learn!

### 5/5 — Great Courses

*2026-06-05, version 6.11*

I enrolled in the annual membership about a year and a half ago and it has been a great resource for learning!

I’ve completed three full courses which I still practice regularly and exploring a fourth one now.

If I had to pay for individual lessons with the live teacher for all that information and instruction it would’ve been 30 times the amount at least plus not as convenient!

### 5/5 — Great Content..good value but..

*2026-05-23, version 6.11*

No Peers…the best learning app of its kind

### 5/5 — The best guitar learning interface out there.

*2026-04-22, version 6.11*

I’ve tried em all and while there are many amazing lessons catalogs out there no one beats the TrueFire interface - auto-scroll notation/tabs, live neck diagram, and looping all at your fingertips. Massive catalog they grow monthly. Buy for life and subscription options. Nothing beats TrueFire. User for life!

### 5/5 — Rarely write a review

*2026-03-29, version 6.11*

TrueFire is an application I actually come back too months later to learn new angles or review old lessons not perfect but solid in it’s delivery.

### 5/5 — It rocks

*2026-03-14, version 6.11*

It rocks
