### 2/5 — Not so great

*2026-07-27*

Doesn’t show real time brushing to get the child into the routine of brushing properly. When activating it by just moving from side to side and setting on the sink countertop to start it gave a feedback of 75% teeth brushed correctly. Then when I physically brushed with it to verify accuracy it said I totally missed areas that were definitely brushed. It also doesn’t tighten securely and flops around on our electric toothbrushes. So, for these reasons I do not find this device to be of real use. The only positive feedback is that the kids like the badges for daily brushing.

### 2/5 — Idea is good

*2026-05-30*

But the accuracy is eh and can we please get badges that kids would like not world pulses day. They won’t care about that stuff. How about some fund stuff. Like baseball or race cars or baby dolls. Or have it specific for each child by answering questions to figure out what they would want to work for.

### 2/5 — Would be more helpful if it was in real time…

*2026-05-08*

The mapping is dependent on brush orientation. This would be more helpful if it gave REAL TIME feedback to help kids know to get areas they missed before they are done brushing! Major design flaw. It also does no good to give badges for random days like national donkey day if they did not have a good enough score to get a badge outright. Please make this REAL time to actually help kids brush better while they are actually brushing!

### 4/5 — Update please

*2026-01-10*

Please add a percentage tracker for active, passive, and interrupted chart. That way you can quickly see oh it’s mostly active. Our kid is a blend of green and yellow, but his yellow is basically not moving the brush because he’s distracted. Without percentages it makes it hard to tell if he needs to brush again sometimes

### 2/5 — Needs faster reponse

*2025-12-30, version 2.2.4*

Be faster

### 4/5 — Almost but not quite amazing

*2025-09-08, version 2.2.3*

Kids love this and it helps me keep track so much easier. Would love it if the timeframes for activity alerts could be in 30 min increments to help me know if they haven’t brushed their teeth by school or bedtime (which both fall on the half hour).

### 3/5 — Does what it says; could be tweaked to be great

*2025-03-23*

The tracker actually works. I’m amazed. That alone gets three stars.

The app is helpful and works. That also deserves three stars.

Thanks to the developers for making a helpful product that works!

What I would like to see to make it great:
- kid and parent profiles or app. As a parent, I don’t need to see the badges and it slows down me viewing how they brush. And unless I am in the room with them while they brush, they don’t see the badge (and that defeats the purpose of the hands-off tracking aspect) I don’t let my kids on my phone, especially in a bathroom (yuck) so they never see the badges. Please allow me as a parent to turn that off on my view. Please make a portal/profile for them to have on their devices to be motivated by the badges.
- I don’t understand the consistency or pattern of the badges. maybe badges could be themed for brush time, brushing quality, or times per day? And be consistent on when they are given (two kids brush “the same” in the app, but one gets a badge? That’s a letdown for one kid)
- I am so pleased with the ease of use with the physical tracker. But when it’s placed correctly, wet fingers can slip and click it off unexpectedly/unknowingly. Which results in “missed” brushings.

### 3/5 — Some adjustments needed

*2025-02-10, version 2.1.0*

The concept is great, and the actual tracking is really good.

But…changes are needed.

1. There needs to be a child lock option.

I would like to install the app on the kids’ iPad, but would need to have a ‘read only’ setting that’s pin locked. I want them to unlock badges, view their brushing, but nothing else. No ability to change settings.

2. Option to hide ‘pocket money’ or rewards option. Or at least make it more flexible - eg - reward granted only when brushing score is 95%+ for example.

We have no issue with getting them to brush, it’s the quality that varies wildly.

3. there needs to be more flexibility with goals.

We have a split family, and the kids are here 7 days a fortnight. But the days vary.

You only have the option to ‘mark them away’ - but do g allow for that to be on a recurring roster.

You also only allow for a goal to be either once or twice a day. I need to be able to do 7 days a fortnight.

4. A family scoreboard would be nice - the best brusher ranked in first place

Fix these things and you have a perfect app!

### 3/5 — No kids interface?

*2025-01-17*

I have some pretty tech savvy kids, they want to look at the app to see their own progress. However, if I download it on their iPads, it’s the same app that parents access. I cannot find a kids interface or user access roles. So if I let them into the app by themselves, they can see and change all the settings. Unless I’m missing something? Would be nice to have access roles for kids to see their analytics.

### 3/5 — Motivates the kids

*2024-05-05*

The badges you get every few days motivated my boys to brush their teeth daily and to do so for the full 2 minutes, they got very excited to open them, but eventually the badges stopped coming and my younger son lost interest. Now my older one gets a badge when he reaches a milestone every month or two and sometimes for a holiday. Idk if it’s set up like that on purpose but I emailed customer service and they never responded. Also the picture of the mouth with the red showing where you need to improve is cool, not sure how accurate it is bc it’s different every time for them but definitely a cool feature if it is accurate.

### 3/5 — Teeth tracking

*2024-02-08, version 2.0.12*

It’s ok buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut how does it track ur teeth 🦷

### 4/5 — It works! But a few tweaks needed

*2023-11-01*

The devices and app have made a huge difference in how my kids brush their teeth. My son is more diligent now about brushing twice a day and my daughter is on a mission to get a perfect score. The badges really motivate them to do better. However, it’s not clear to me why my 8 year old gets a badge every other day whereas my 10 year old is mostly only receiving the military ranking badges to reflect how many days he’s been using the app. It’s alittle demoralizing for him. Also, the coloring of the Movement section is confusing. If circular motions are good and sideway motions are discouraged, then circular should be green and sideways red.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor customer service and a shotty product

*2026-05-31*

This device worked well for 3 months then stopped tracking. We replaced the battery with the exact battery that was in the device and it continued to not track. Every so often when we resync the device manually it downloads some of the data, but it is not accurate. I have been talking with customer service about my issues and they keep saying the exact same thing, it’s the battery, I have the wrong battery, even though I have told them I replaced the battery with the exact battery they keep suggesting I try.

Poor customer service and a shotty product apparently.

### 1/5 — Unimpressed

*2026-05-17, version 2.3.6*

I’ve brushed my sons teeth the last 3 days and it’s recorded 1 brush. Waste of money!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t sync properly

*2026-05-15*

Two months since getting the trackers, I noticed that they were not syncing properly with my phone. After countless back-and-forth with customer service with me requesting a refund with me sending back the devices, I still don’t have a resolution. I plan to reach out to my visa credit card company to see if they can help since the product technically is under warranty, but they are not acknowledging the faulty syncing.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2025-10-29, version 2.2.4*

Buyer beware!! if you were stupid enough like me to buy one of these “Truthbrush’s” than you probably know already but, they are so poorly designed/built that you will be lucky if you get it to work once. The company is even worse. Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2024-05-10, version 2.0.12*

Worked great the first two times he brushed his teeth. Hasn’t worked since.

### 1/5 — App crashes when I link

*2024-01-25*

I spent $157 on trackers and hubs for my family. I went to set it up today, but the app crashes every time I go to link the first tracker to a profile. This makes the expensive trackers completely unusable. I have tried restarting my phone and I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but the problem persists. Extremely frustrating.

### 1/5 — Tracking is very inaccurate

*2024-01-04*

My 5 year old daughter got a 94% and “all areas covered sufficiently” carrying the toothbrush across the house to ask me to watch her brush. She got a 92 when she actually brushed her teeth. Helpful to see if your kid picked the toothbrush up and how long they held it for but that’s about it.

### 1/5 — The hubs are junk and they won’t replace

*2023-06-28*

While the tracker was great, they only provide a warranty on the hub for six months so when it’s junk and dies, they make you buy a new one or else your expensive trackers won’t work. What a racket!

### 1/5 — Poor Quality

*2023-04-28*

Hub does not stay connected. The only way to fix this is to disconnect and delete from app, then wait a few hours to reconnect and hope that it connects with the servers. This happens every few days and brushes are commonly missed because I didn’t realize the hub disconnected or crashed. Defeats the point of the product. In credible expensive for something that doesn’t function properly.

### 1/5 — The 2.0 version is awful

*2022-08-05, version 2.0.5*

The 2.0 version is more visually appealing, but regularly does not record tooth brushing completed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — OMG!!!!!!!

*2026-05-28*

This app has been a game changer for my daughter, she WANTS to brush her teeth now and she is soooo good about it. Genuinely the best app ever for kids who don’t like to brush their teeth or they lie about it DO RECOMMEND

### 5/5 — Great app to keep my kid engaged

*2025-08-31, version 2.2.3*

I love the idea, does help with engagement, my son wants to brush his teeth just to get the "points" (i tem them the percentage are points) and the badges. However the badges could've been a bit more child friendly. Star signs means nothing to them, and some arrows and triangles? They like collecting, make it a bit more child friendly and u get them even more engaged.

### 5/5 — Super great

*2024-09-20, version 2.0.12*

The best

### 5/5 — Gamification at it’s best

*2024-04-15*

It’s wonderful and both children and parents should love it and its surprising badges. my daughter has gotten two badges in a row and is really tickled pink. With a grading aspect it allows me to get my children excited about 100% scores.

### 5/5 — How it track ur teeth

*2024-03-20, version 2.0.12*

How does it track ur teeth prob location tracker on brush

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2023-12-08, version 2.0.12*

Great product from a mom!

### 5/5 — Very useful way to maintain healthy teeth and gums

*2023-11-19*

I have been using Truthbrush for 2 plus years. It reminds me of proper brushing habits and measures my technique to keep me motivated to be healthier. I would recommend this for individuals and for families with youngsters that can develop good habits with their oral hygiene.

### 5/5 — Game changer for my oral health!

*2023-07-21*

I have been using this for a month, and at age 57 I have never taken better care of my teeth! It brush 2-3x a day for at least 2 minutes and it’s all thanks to Truthbrush.

I went to the dentist today and she commented on how great my gums looked and normally we are talking about another deep cleaning!

I definitely respond to the gamification aspect in other parts of my life so this works really well.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2023-02-07, version 2.0.8*

Best app in the world

### 5/5 — Dad in Victoria AUS

*2021-12-20, version 1.0.41*

My children constantly don’t brush there teeth or lie about it, this is the perfect tool for parents to make sure there children always brush there teeth, since having this (and some grounding) as I know when teeth are brushed or not, I can say my children always brush there teeth. This will save $$$ on dentists costs in the future.

Had to use a USA converter to use it here in AUS but worth it.

The app UI is fantastic, this is an amazing tool, the company should work on its marketing this would be really big here in AUS just need to make it more accessible.
