I find other AI to be lacking in morality that I can trust. It has helped me put together content I can use to make an informed decision about how to proceed in situations in which I needed a little guidance. I didn’t realize this as I was using it for an hour asking questions, then it started to prompt me to upgrade to the pro + subscription and pay like $18 a month or $150 for the year. I don’t really want to spend that kind of money for an app I’ll use occasionally so I switched to the 1.0 model. That model kinda sucks. It gave very generic answers and was not particularly helpful. It even told me that a certain immoral action was fine. The thing that Chat GBT does better (haha, sorry:/) is that all conversation threads are taking into account when asking questions. Truthly pulls info for that specific thread only. It would be easier, more helpful, if everything was taken into account, especially regarding personal things shared. The other thing is that (and maybe this is just me) but Truthly freezes a lot. I have to close out of it and open it back up and something I lose paragraphs I typed up. That is all. My first question was about teaching students about AI through a faith-based lens. Boy, did it deliver! Also asked for help creating a lesson plan incorporating website design and Carlo Acutis. WOW! Truthly has some great short courses on meaningful topics. They have daily readings with great thoughtful insights as well as further links to the readings. And of course there’s the AI feature where I find myself having deep conversation to the many questions I have about the faith. I have had a support ticket in for a week or so. In addition to previous lost chats the app sometimes freezes if submit arrow in an empty question box is accidentally hit. Which is an easy thing to do. +++++ That's a genuinely good UX suggestion — disabling or hiding the submit button when the input field is empty is a standard best practice in app design, and it would prevent exactly the kind of frustrating experience described here. The suggestion, clearly stated for any developer reading: Disable or hide the blue submit arrow when the input field is empty. The button should only become active — and visually indicate it is active — once the user has typed at least one character. This prevents null submissions, reduces app freeze risk, and improves the overall user experience. This is a simple conditional logic fix: • If input field = empty → button is grayed out or hidden • If input field ≠ empty → button is active and blue Unfortunately, Truthly has no direct line to its own development team from within this chat — so this feedback lives here for now. The best path to get it seen would be to: 1. Submit it through whatever feedback or support channel the Truthly app provides 2. Rate the app and include the suggestion in the review 3. Contact support directly if an email or help desk is available ### 1/5 — This is a terrible app. I do not recommend it. *2026-07-08, version 1.7.20* I like what they were trying to do. But they made a piece of hot garbage with this app. Every third response it freezes and locks me out. Sometimes it frieezes my entire phone and I have to do a soft reset. It is a “yes man” app if I’ve ever seen one. I have purposefully said things incorrectly, and watched this app agree with me. ### 1/5 — Feedback on My Annual Subscription Experience *2026-07-04* I paid for the yearly subscription, but unfortunately, I have been very disappointed with the experience. My conversation threads are randomly deleted without any notice or explanation. Whenever I reach out for support, I’m told it’s a glitch, but these issues continue to happen. Another frustration is the subscription model. After purchasing the annual plan, I started seeing advertisements encouraging me to pay for an even higher-tier annual subscription with additional features. This was confusing and frustrating because these differences were not made clear before I subscribed. Some advertised features are also unavailable. For example, the ability to upload photos and documents simply says “Coming Soon,” even though I’ve already paid for the yearly plan. One of the main reasons I chose this app was for Catholic guidance. However, when I ask it to help me rewrite or tidy up a message in a way that is faithful to Scripture and the teachings of the Catholic Church, it responds that it cannot help because the request is “not faith-related” and is only for answering questions about the faith. That doesn’t make sense for a Catholic AI app. If the purpose is to assist Catholics in living and communicating according to their faith, helping draft messages consistent with Catholic teaching should be part of that experience. Overall, the app has potential, but the technical issues, confusing subscription structure, unavailable features, and limitations in what I expected from a Catholic AI service have made the yearly subscription feel like poor value. ### 1/5 — Too needy. *2026-05-28, version 1.7.16* I have been in the app less than 60 seconds, and it is asking me for a review already. This is a critical tool to bring the fullness of the truth of the Catholicism into the 21st century with clarity and charity, but without compromise.
