Worst TV Channel app I’ve used yet, and that’s saying something bc the NBC Sports app is complete garbage. ### 1/5 — Buggy *2025-07-27, version 8.12.0* App asks for location to determine programming. You turn it on, it keeps asking for it. No way to fix other than closing the app. It’s like the video freezes and the audio proceeds. With any bandwidth blips it gets worse and worse. What a joke of a company…. ### 4/5 — Captuons *2025-04-27, version 8.10.0* I love that I can watch some shows on TruTV, especially sporting events that are supposed to be on TBS but start late for one reason or another. However, I can’t for the life of me on the Apple TV find a way to shut off the closed captions. I see the CC briefly on the screen when you go to live TV, but there’s no way to actually select it and shut them off. I’ve checked my settings and all captions are turned off in the main settings so I’m not sure why TruTV on the Apple TV is ignoring my settings and won’t let me shut them off. They take up too much room on the screen; it’s annoying. Other than that, it’s just as good as any other TV app. ### 1/5 — Absolutely Terrible *2025-03-20, version 8.10.0* I have never written a review before and haven’t really cared to until now. This app is atrocious, I downloaded it and tried to sign into my cable account so I can watch March Madness. Every time I entered my username and password CORRECTLY, it would send me back to the app and then tell me I needed to sign in if I wanted to watch live TV. Makes me dislike the truTV network. The app forces you to restart an episode when you exit the episode. It doesn’t bookmark where you left off. WORSE YET, IT FORCIBLY REPLAYS ADS. EACH AND EVERY TIME. Can’t turn off the closed captions. Horrible viewing experience. The team that developed this app should be forced to use it for eight hours a day for a month. To say my experience with the app was terrible is an understatement. For one; the app will frequently have bug, causing issues with the interface. On the topic of that interface, I find it very hard and clunky to navigate. It's made even worse by the fact that episodes are listed from newest to oldest, meaning if you want to watch a series from the beginning, you have to scroll to the bottom and select each episode, rather than just having it autoplay. The app also frequently logs me out of my tv provider, and sometimes when I try to log back in, it just doesn't work at all, and I will ne unable to watch anything due to the app logging me out. I am stunned at how poor quality this app is. ### 1/5 — Constant Issues *2024-03-30, version 8.7.4* The app constantly crashes, locks up, signs itself out, goes unresponsive, lags and has issues rewinding and fast forwarding. I’ve had to delete it 3 separate times because it will not let me log in properly and gives me different roadblocks each time. The settings menu is a joke and when it actually lets you watch something it gives you more ads than a pirated site. I try to close the app and reopen in order to get it to play? That’ll be a 90 second unskippable ad followed by a black screen. While trutv has some funny shows, I have to admit that whoever writes the “developers responses” for this app , I have paused trutv just to read!!
