## What is Truyện Ngụ Ngôn Phật Giáo?

Bộ kinh Bách Dụ gồm 98 bài thí dụ của Phật nói do Ngài Pháp Sư Tăng Gia Tư Na sao lục trong kinh tạng. Hai thí dụ rốt sau: "Thuốc hay hòa trong đường phèn", "Dùng là gói thuốc A Dà Đà" là của Pháp Sư tự soạn, để tổng dụ cho diệu lý đủ trong những thí dụ trên.

Một đời thuyết giáo trong bốn mươi chín năm, tùy theo căn cơ chúng sanh sai khác, Đức Phật nói ra vô lượng Pháp môn không đồng. Khi nói thấp, khi nói cao, từ dễ lần đến khó, đem gần tỉ dụ xa. Chung qui chỉ hướng về một mục đích duy nhất là làm cho chúng sanh tự giác ngộ bản tánh sáng suốt của mình.

Trong kinh Bách Dụ, Phật đã dùng những chuyện xưa để thí dụ cụ thể sự dại dột mê lầm chung của chúng ta.

Nếu chúng ta biết trừ bỏ mê lầm ở đâu thì Niết Bàn sẽ thực hiện ở đó. 

Chúng tôi nhận thấy những mẩu chuyện thí dụ đây, có thể thông dụng trong các tầng lớp quần chúng, ai cũng có thể hiểu một cách dễ dàng, vì chuyện rất vui, có kỹ thuật hấp dẫn, rất hữu ích cho mọi người, nên tôi không nệ tài hèn, đức bạc phiên dịch ra tiếng Việt để cống hiến đọc giả một tác phẩm của Phật Giáo có giá trị giáo dục cho tăng đồ và cho cư sĩ.
