## What is Ttorolu?

Ttorolu (또르르) is the Korean word for the sound a marble makes as it rolls.

The night is deep. The wind is calm, and lanterns light up one by one.
Like "Arirang", Korea's beloved old song about crossing the hills, this is a journey over the night pass with a single lantern in hand.
Just tilt your phone, in whatever position feels comfortable. Nothing gets in the way of your walk.

Long ago, many people crossed these hills on foot. On every hill there were friends who welcomed the travelers, and as footsteps passed, the light gathered until the welcoming lantern of each city shone bright. But as the footsteps slowly stopped coming, the unwalked paths tangled into mazes, and the cities' welcoming lanterns lost their light one by one.

Step into a city and you meet its friend, then set out together. The character rolling through the maze is that very friend. Walk all ten bends and relight the city's welcoming lantern, and its warm glow reaches the neighboring hills.

Ttorolu is a cozy maze game to keep you company at the end of the day. There are no scores and no rankings. Just you, one city friend, and a quiet night trail.

Gently tilt your phone (or drag with a finger), and the city's friend rolls through winding alleys of mazes themed after cities across South Korea. Every city has a friend and a maze shape of its own: the stone dol hareubang of Jeju, the turtle ship of Yeosu, Seoul's Gwanghwamun Gate, and more.

NOTHING INTERRUPTS, IN ANY POSITION
• No full-screen ads between stages, and no banners covering the screen. Nothing stands between you and the walk.
• Ads appear only when you ask for one, to refill an item. You can finish every city without watching a single one.
• Start from whatever position you are already in. "Fit to My Position" takes the angle you are holding right now as its center.
• Lying down, leaning back, on your side — all of it works. It measures a tilt that feels easy and sets the sensitivity for you.
• If tilting is hard, switch to touch mode. Drag anywhere on the screen and the marble rolls that way.
• You can walk offline, with no connection needed.

HOW TO PLAY
• Tilt your phone, or switch to touch mode. Pick whichever feels comfortable.
• Your lantern light burns down as time passes. Reach the gate before it goes out.
• The gate light glowing far in the distance shows you which way to go.
• At a confusing fork, a firefly comes over and lights the way.
• Wandered too long? Unwind a skein of silk thread, and the path to the gate appears for a moment.
• If your lantern goes out, a drop of oil lets you walk on from right where you stand.
• When the gate is just one wall away but your lantern is too low to walk around, spend a few Yeopjeon to untangle that spot.
• When the way won't come, let the fireflies lead you to the gate.
• Every region has mischief of its own. Shake off the gull droppings by the sea, and wipe the mountain mist away with your finger.
• Meet a tiger on the pass and it says, "give me one rice cake and I won't eat you." Hand one over and it steps aside.

FEATURES
• Mazes are shaped after landmarks and local motifs from cities across South Korea. Ten mazes per city, and new places are still being added.
• Step into a city and you meet its friend, then walk the ten bends together.
• Finish a city and your friend relights its welcoming lantern. That glow opens the way to the neighboring hills.
• Today's Walk brings a new maze every day, and it is always free.
• A keepsake card arrives for every city you finish. Share it with your friends or on Instagram.
• Night music shifts with the region you are walking through.
• There are 19 achievements, with your night walks recorded in Game Center.
• iCloud sync lets you start on your iPhone and keep walking on your iPad.
• Full VoiceOver support, plus Distant Lighthouse — a round played entirely by ear.
• Available in English, Korean, and Indonesian.

Ttorolu was made for the quiet close of your day.
May your walk tonight be warm and easy.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6 — 2026-08-25

[New content and features]
1. Two new cities added (Ulsan · Namwon)
* Ulsan - Ganwoljae cairn maze: Ganwoljae, where waves of silver grass sweep across the ridge. The cairn that people raised stone by stone, each with a wish, has turned into a beautiful maze of the night.
* Namwon - Gwanghallu maze: Gwanghallu in Namwon, a pavilion that brings the palace on the moon to mind, arrives as a new maze that keeps its two storeys just as they are.
* New mascots: A gray whale that roamed the sea off Jangsaengpo and a magpie that built Ojakgyo over the Milky Way are waiting as the mascots of each city.

2. New shortcut: straight to the gate
* The gate is right there, but your lantern is too low to walk all the way around? Now you can cross straight through the wall.
* Spend Yeopjeon to open the blocked path at once and go straight to the gate. (Once per stage)

3. Seoul's mascot has changed: from the magpie to Haechi
* Haechi, the guardian awakened on the stone steps of Gwanghwamun, is now Seoul's mascot. Long a ward against fire and disaster, this friend now watches over the hearts of those who lose their way.
* The magpie who used to keep Seoul has moved to Namwon, to help build the Ojakgyo bridge.

4. New auto-walk: the fireflies take you to the gate
* Some paths simply will not come undone, no matter how far you walk. When that happens, let the fireflies lead.
* Hand the way over and the fireflies fly on ahead while your character follows them all the way to the gate. The route you walked still appears on your finish card. The first time is free. After that it costs 30 Yeopjeon.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-20

[New content and features]

· Locked cities now answer, and you can step in right away
  - Tap a locked city and it tells you, right there, why the road is still closed and what will open it.
  - Spend Yeopjeon and you can walk into that city instead of waiting your turn. One invitation at a time.

· Today's walk and Jangseong Mugunghwa Park
  - The mugunghwa that used to bloom on the map after each walk now have a place of their own.
  - Setting out on a walk and looking over the flowers you grew both happen in Jangseong Mugunghwa Park now.
  - One new variety of mugunghwa opens for every three nights you walk.

· You can see the cost before you step into a maze
  - The signpost on the trail and the card at the end of a level show the one Heart it takes.
  - When you have none left, the time until your next Heart arrives stands in its place.

· The gate at the end of a maze truly opens
  - Both leaves swing aside, and the light beyond spills through.

· Two new cities: Sangju and Incheon
  - Sangju, where bicycles roll along the paddy paths after dark, and Incheon, where the Ganghwa dolmens raised five thousand years ago are standing yet.
  - Two new friends who keep those cities are waiting for you as well.

[Bug fix]

· Fixed a case where stepping away during the opening flyover and coming back cost you a Heart.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-19

· You can now walk lying down. Settings > Controls > "Fit to My Position" takes the angle you are holding right now as its center, then sets the sensitivity to a tilt range that feels easy. Leaning back or resting on your side works just as well.
· Three new cities have opened to walk: Chokseongnu Pavilion on the cliffs above the Namgang River in Jinju, the Jinhae cherry blossoms that cover Changwon every spring, and the columnar joints of Mount Mudeung standing like a folding screen in Gwangju. Three new friends are waiting there too.
· The mother-of-pearl cabinet in the codex is lovelier than ever. Tilt your phone and every shard catches the light at its own angle.
· Easygoing Walk is new. Turn it on in Settings > Accessibility and your lantern never goes out, so you can finish the walk without hurrying.
· Finishing a city now brings you five Yeopjeon. Instead of items piling up unused, you can trade for whatever you need, whenever you need it.
· Fixed a case where a rewarded ad could not be shown.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-18

· Corrected the description of the "A Cup of Coffee" tip so it matches what it actually grants — 20 Yeopjeon.
· Extended the night trail illustration so it fills the iPad screen edge to edge, with no empty margins.
· Added lighting for the welcoming lantern in the pavilion at the pass when you are in a flatland city.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-18

· Ttorolu has a story now. Paths no one walks tangle into mazes, and the welcoming lanterns go dark — a prologue opens on your first night.
· Step into a city and meet its friend; walk ten bends as that friend and relight the city's welcoming lantern.
· Every region now has its own mischief. Shake the gull droppings off by the sea, and wipe the mountain mist away with your finger.
· A tiger waits on the mountain pass. Hand it a rice cake and it quietly steps aside.
· A new place to walk: the night road over Mungyeong Saejae.
· Every maze now ends with a card of the path you walked.
