## What is Từ điển Phật học?

Hiện nay, việc học tập và nghiên cứu Phật học ngày càng trở nên sâu rộng. Do đó việc trang bị những quyển sách mang tính công cụ như từ điển Phật học là một nhu cầu thiết yếu đối với các độc giả, các nhà nghiên cứu và sinh viên các trường Phật học. Trên thực tế, để đáp ứng nhu cầu đó, nhiều bộ từ điển Phật học hoặc đã được xuất bản, hoặc đã được cập nhật trên mạng lưới Internet. Tuy nhiên, phần lớn các bộ từ điển Phật học được xuất bản đó giá thành quá cao, vì thế rất khó phổ biến sâu rộng trong quần chúng. Trong khi đó, các bộ từ điển trên mạng lại chưa khai thác triệt để các tính năng nhanh gọn trong việc tìm kiếm tra từ.

Trước tình hình đó cùng với tâm nguyện truyền bá Phật pháp, làm lợi ích cho tha nhân, chúng tôi đã xây dựng một ứng dụng từ điển Phật học có thể hoạt động trên điện thoại di động và không cần nối mạng (offline). Bộ từ điển Phật học này gồm hơn 400 nghìn thuật ngữ được thu thập dựa trên những nguồn chính sau đây:
