## What is Tui cold weather?

Tui Cold WXR Ops is an app that gives simple and intuitive access to information that would otherwise require pilots to troll through pages and pages of documents, or make critical calculations based on tabulated information.

The app includes:-

Snowfall Intensity - Make 3 simple selections to find out the snowfall intensity for use in Holdover Time calculations.

Holdover Times - A simple and intuitive interface to gain access to anti-icing holdover times, based on the current FAA Guidelines tables. The form builds in a logical sequence, with all notes (including restrictions, Lowest Operational Use Temperatures, condition descriptions, etc) appearing at the relevant points in the process - avoiding the need to have to troll through pages of documents .

Runway Conditions - A tool to quickly gain information about generic Braking Action and Runway Condition Code associated with the various types of runway contaminants, and which settings to use in the Onboard Performance Tool. A description of each condition is provided along with what can be expected with the different Braking Action levels. Also included is a simple calculator to work out the runway cleared width in metres, when given by ATC in feet (when required for reducing maximum crosswind figures).

Altimeter Corrections - By using the mathematical formula from ICAO Doc 8168, this tool provides accurate altimeter information for flying approaches in colder than standard conditions - removing the need to make calculations/interpolation of tabulated figures.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 3.3 — 2026-02-21

A few changes to the Holdover Times section:-
Entered data is retained when navigating away from the page.
Once a result has been generated, a countdown timer appears for the user to enter their desired time for a reminder that the holdover time has expired.
     Minor formatting changes

### 3.2 — 2025-10-29

Incorporation of the 2025-26 FAA holdover guidelines, along with a slight format change for this section.
Altimeter Corrections section reformatted so that input data is retained after navigating away from that section; results are rounded up to the nearest 10 so that they match the LIDO results; conversions are automatically made when toggling between metres and feet.
Documents updated to the latest versions

### 2.3 — 2024-12-02

Fix for issues caused by iOS 18.1
Changes to visibility data for Snowfall Intensity section
