If you forget your password good luck cuz there’s absolutely no help or support to get you back in. Not even a “forgotten password?” option available? It’s a huge hassle to set up, logging in is the worst. If you want to be constantly stressed and anxious then use tui travel card ### 1/5 — Limited use app - development team take notice. *2024-05-08, version 7.7.1* This app has to be one of the worst I’ve ever dealt with. When trying to register new TUI travel cards via the website, I created an account as per the card documentation. The account couldn’t then be registered via the TUI Travel Money app (invalid credentials) and as pointed out by other customers. The ONLY way to get the app to display the account balance was to register an account directly via the app, a brand new account. TUI - your app development team need to take notice of this and test thoroughly before releasing a very poor experience to the public. After using the card for an upcoming trip, I don’t intend to get another TUI card for future use. The app has affected the reputation of the TUI brand. ### 1/5 — Wouldn’t let me register my card so cannot access my money. *2024-02-16, version 7.7.1* This is rubbish, spent 40 minutes trying to register my card , kept saying invalid, I put £500 on the card and I cannot access my money, I will be straight back to my local tui shop to get my money back when I return home. In the meantime I will have to use my credit card which defeats the object of having a tui prepaid travel card!. Would not recommend at all..!!! 😡 ### 1/5 — Appalling *2023-10-30, version 7.7.1* There is no point in using this app. It’s absolutely terrible. After almost 2 hours of 2 of us AND the TUI travel agent trying to set it up it’s still not working. Absolute nightmare. ### 1/5 — Not very impressed *2023-09-21, version 7.7.1* I got this card in July for trip to lanzarote card worked well even able to top up in 30 minutes. However now on a cheeky September break in Gran Canaria it’s taking over 24hrs to top up leaving me short of money so I either go without or get charged for using my bank card abroad. Come on TUI money get your act together other cards can. ### 1/5 — Why is this app not been updated *2023-09-09, version 7.7.1* Can not log in at all even tried some of the suggestions that a developer had suggested nope wont even let me it’s frustrating to say the least will be going to get the remaining funds from the account and using a different company that their apps actually works and is supported same the app that is vital to the account doesn’t work :( ### 1/5 — AVOID *2023-09-01, version 7.7.1* Used this card/app in the past when working abroad with no issue however I’ve now got a new card ready to go away and I wish I’d went with another company, the app now constantly crashes or says there’s been an issue topping up even when all details are correct… ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2023-08-26, version 7.7.1* Would have more luck accessing my travel money sticking my arm down a toilet than accessing it on this app. Completely broken and useless. ### 1/5 — Would give 0 stars if possible *2023-07-28, version 7.7.1* I haven’t even used the card! Have put money on it in store , downloaded the app but it won’t accept any pin combinations that Iv tried ! Everyone it says it’s already in use . Iv tried thousands!!! Card works but i can’t use the app to see what’s on it. Customer service have been no help at fixing the problem. Card worked fine when abroad but pray you don’t want to top up. Without friends in Scotland putting money in the account I would have been in trouble. Avoid Tui travel card. ### 1/5 — Not Good At All *2023-05-26, version 7.7.1* The app is terrible, had an error code a few days ago and logged me out. Re-downloaded it to see if it was all alright. Go to try and log back in and it doesn’t let me, it keeps saying invalid credentials!! I have money on the card ready for my holiday and was going to top up again. Now I won’t be able too and I won’t be able to see my balance while on holiday. Just won’t sign me in for some reason!!! ### 1/5 — Awful customer service *2023-05-18, version 7.6.1* Swapped to two new cards as last years had expired. Just awful service from call centre. Went back to store to get money back and close account. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Fails on its most basic functions *2025-08-05, version 7.9.1* The card wouldn’t allow me to check the balance on an ATM and my first transaction abroad failed. The customer support staff are useless and unknowledgeable about the card. Avoid like the plague and use another provider like Hays. ### 1/5 — Do not bother *2025-05-05, version 7.8.1* Was advised to take out one of these cards had to provide driving license and passport to register and the lady who sold it me messed up my date of birth some how although having both forms of id, I called the help line they couldn’t sort on the phone and even went into store and still couldn’t sort it, I’m unable to access my money on it and for me to get my money back I would have to pay a charge although it was there error absolutely disgusting zero remorse and stuck now with a card I can’t access and can’t rectify it the day before I go on holiday stay well away. It would be zero stars if I could and zero stars for customer service ### 1/5 — Clunky app *2025-04-17, version 7.8.1* Impossible to reload a card from the app. Fine for checking balance but that’s about it. ### 1/5 — HELP *2024-12-18, version 7.7.1* I can’t find my balance and banks won’t pay out, even though it’s in Australian dollars. Every ATM charges $7_50 to withdrawer but will not show your balance. It’s rubbish as some places won’t accept it for payment either!!! ### 1/5 — Just don’t use it *2024-09-04, version 7.7.1* Made the mistake of thinking this would be best option to do rather then carrying loads of cash. Just don’t bother as now we still have 3 days left on our holiday and can’t top it up. App was useless and kept saying to check card details so eventually managed to get through on the website. Problem now is that they have taken the money from my bank account but haven’t topped the travel card up. We our now down money but are going to have to use our normal cards which charge us every time its used because this so called “easy” to use card has failed us. Thanks TUI for ruining a holiday after we haven’t been on one in 6 years because I’m now unable to sleep due to worry. ### 1/5 — Can’t even log in or register *2024-08-14, version 7.7.1* Doesn’t work on Iphone 13 mini. It doesn’t allow data entry into all of the fields when trying to login or register. Awful! ### 1/5 — Useless App *2024-06-01, version 7.7.1* I can’t retrieve my password or login details or anyway to reset them. Terrible app. ### 1/5 — Avoid this travel card *2024-05-27, version 7.7.1* I am currently in Orlando and at the half way point in my holiday. This card has been working fine until yesterday when it was declined at the hotel 3 times, it was saying incorrect credentials plus insufficient balance, for reference the balance is $709 dollars, after being in the embarrassing situation of asking them to try again and again I luckily had taken a credit card and paid with that. I have emailed customer services and have received a generic response of someone will be in touch soon, nearly 24 hours later they haven’t. For reference on our last trip to the states we used a Hayes travel card and it was seamless throughout. I should have used again on this trip but was offered a better rate by TUI lesson learnt I won’t be using again. I’ll also follow up if and when someone from TUI gets in touch ### 1/5 — Shocking *2024-05-21, version 7.7.1* Won’t even let me log in any more absolutely awful app ### 1/5 — Apple Pay *2024-05-13, version 7.7.1* Just bought my travel card yesterday I’m a little bit disappointed that there is no option to add Apple Pay and google pay as a option as some people like to use there phones to pay the app could have a major overhaul it could do with updating and more user friendly interface with Face ID biometrics I have used post office before and they have Apple Pay and google pay for there travel cards You have already have the TUI app My idea is to merge the travel app into one app into one app it’s best to have everything in one place For example Bookings/ flights times Travel money this gives you the option to top up your card as well And the option to add to Apple Pay and google pay Insurance Cruise booking This way the customers will have a better experience This is some of my feedback ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Very handy *2025-07-25, version 7.8.1* I found this card and app very easy to use. Yes the app is quite dated, but it does the job. I had no trouble at all using the app to top up from my Visa debit card and no trouble using the card in many shops and restaurants in Cyprus. I don’t know if it’s makes any difference, but I ordered the card online with TUI and picked it up from a store, so the initial money was pre-loaded. I would recommend doing it that way as I had no issues. ### 5/5 — Easy to use *2025-04-09, version 7.8.1* So easy to set up and use abroad without the worry of exchange rates and conversion fees. Would definitely recommend. ### 5/5 — Works for me *2025-04-05, version 7.8.1* I have been using the TUI card for a number of years, I generally travel widely in EU, and occasionally to the Caribbean. It takes a few minutes to work out the how to top up part, but it does work… Brilliant on the EU peace motorways, my wife hangs out of the motorhome window and waves the card at the reader, works well. My only criticism, only 12 currencies, it misses some of the obvious ones, like CHF for instance. Was at the till with no money in my account, the money had transferred in time for me to pay the bill. GOAT ### 5/5 — Great! *2018-11-16* The app is very useful, topped up twice in GBP to AUD and the app shows you exactly how much you’ll be charged and how much you’ll get in the new currency. The app says it can take up to 48 hours for the money to go through but it was in my account straight away. Very impressed! **Developer response:** Thank you for your kind feedback! ### 5/5 — Carlts *2018-02-13* Had reservations about this card as usually only take cash. It wasn't until i split my money half on card, half cash that i looked at the app reviews an to be quite frank i babbed myself and thought “the wife's going to kill me!” I am how ever happy to report it has work spot on in Italy, Rome to be exact. Balance and transactions are updated extremely fast and accurately. 👍🏼 ### 5/5 — Works flawlessly! *2017-08-01* Honestly this card is a godsend! Ignore all the poor reviews, not sure how anyone can have any problems with the card unless you haven't set it up properly. I used a Thompson travel card on my holiday to Dubai and it really helped me keep track on how much I was spending as the app told me instantly. I had also activated the second card which you get and it worked perfectly with no issues at all!
