I have news apps for all of the news stations in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, and this one is by far the worst. Text runs off the edge of the screen. If you want to be bombarded by ads instead of breaking news, this app is perfect for you. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Going down hill *2025-10-13, version 10.13.0* Since Channel 8 was joined with OKC, quality has greatly declined. When local weather spots occur during national broadcasts, weather is not provided. At times, news tapes from the previous day are played rather than current news (happened again on 10 PM news 10/12/25). More OKC news than Tulsa news is addressed. Even commercials are cut off before the end of the clip. If there is a transmittal issue, considerable time passes before any station rep becomes aware of dead air. This level of operation is unacceptable and very disappointing. ### 1/5 — Lack of follow up *2025-08-17* A while back, Bert Mummalo came to our town in Ralston and did a story. He promised to follow up on it. We have been without water several times. At one point most the town didn’t have water for a week. Haven’t seen or heard from Burt Mummalo since. Doesn’t offer basic horizontal landscape view rotation for tablets ### 1/5 — Deleted app *2019-02-11* This news app is the worst of all local news stations. Notifications won’t take you to a story. I don’t think Channel 8 updates the stories very often. ### 1/5 — Notifications are awful *2018-03-12, version 7.2.0* You get a notification, then you click on it, then you can’t see the related news story. Ever. ### 1/5 — This app is horrible *2016-11-18* Old and outdated news, cannot locate breaking news flashes, too many taps and swipes to find pertinent stories and way too many adds. Needs significant updates or complete reprogramming. **Developer response:** Hi - Thank you for your review. We have released a completely overhauled version of the app that I welcome you to try. Delete your old version and grab the newest one from the store and let me know how you like it. Thanks, Jeff ### 1/5 — Worst Tulsa news app *2016-07-21* Half the time a news story only loads the banner image and no content. When it does pull up the story, many times it's not the story you tapped on but some other story from the list, leaving you tap randomly until you stumble on the actual story you want. 100% of the time the video does not load, sure it loads the commercial but never the video for the story you want to see. Have all the news and weather on the go at your finger tips. You will also know that it is the latest and accurate news and weather because it is KTUL News Channel 8. THE ONE AND ONLY. There is no other news like it in Oklahoma!!!! ### 4/5 — Best radar *2011-06-29* This app has the best radar for NE Oklahoma - better than 2, 6 the Weather Channel & the Weather Bug. It also has the best looking long range planner. But it's not my first choice for local news and sports there I prefer 6. ### 3/5 — Blows up your phone!!!!! *2017-12-03* Notifications really blow up your phone during the newscasts. They are not necessarily breaking news as it happens throughout the day, they are whatever story is airing at the time on the air. App is nice looking and seems to work fine, but news only seems to be updated about once per day, so you could be reading yesterday's news. **Developer response:** Hi - Thanks for submitting your review and sharing your poor experience with it. I will mention the excessive notifications to the news room. We did make a change to the refresh rate for the updates and hopefully you will see an improvement there. Thanks again, Jeff ### 3/5 — To open apt *2016-10-05, version 6.11.6* Cannot understand how to do all the tapping and swiping to open this apt ### 2/5 — Supposedly huge update.. still no landscape on iPad *2017-07-13* Seriously.... you release a brand new app and claim it is better and faster and it STILL does not support landscape mode on iPad.... deleted as waste of time as my iPad is always in a keyboard case and I have no desire to hold it in portrait... ridiculous... **Developer response:** Hi - Thanks for the review. It is true that we did not support large form factor devices upon initial release. We are working on an update for this as well as an improved watch experience.
