So we looked for an alternative and we found out this app which was extraordinary. We did the tour on our pace which is the reason we came in early to avoid crowds. It worked almost perfectly.... the blue dot is your location (it’s close to accurate, sometimes it moves randomly but give it a few seconds to become normal) and the red pins are the different interesting ruins inside Tulum. Just make sure you download and test everything before you get there. Reception at Tulum is terrible. I followed the app’s route to go from one pin to the next and it worked very well. I liked that I could go at my own pace. Tulum doesn’t have as much stuff as Chichen Itza but the app has plenty of “filler” about Mayan history and culture which helps.
