## What is Tuna?

The same three questions pile up every night:

1. What do I actually have in here?
2. How does any of it combine into a meal?
3. Can I cook tasty, easily, and quickly?

By the time the third question lands, the delivery order has already been placed. 45 minutes later you get food that went cold and made you feel worse, not better.

Tuna calms that anxiety, so you can have peace in your kitchen.

Open it and see tonight's menu, built from what is already in your kitchen. The same three taps as ordering out, except the kitchen is yours. Pick something. Cook it. The food you already bought finally gets eaten.

Tonight's menu
A list of meals you can make right now with what is on hand. Tap one to start. No infinite scrolling, no recipe searching with 50 too-similar options for the same dish.

A pantry that stays accurate by itself
Scan a receipt and the pantry updates. Scan a barcode and it updates. Cook a recipe and it updates. The camera does the typing.

Import the recipes you already love
Paste a URL, photograph a cookbook page, or snap the card on the counter. Ingredients parse, nutrition calculates, the recipe is yours.

One kitchen for the whole household
Shared pantry, shared recipes, shared grocery list. Whoever shops, the pantry knows. Whoever cooks, the menu adjusts. The household stays on the same page without a Sunday meeting.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-26

- Recipes: the second tab is your recipe library again, with sort and filters — "Can make tonight", "Use up soon", total time, tags — when you last cooked each dish, and a green Ready badge when everything's on hand.
- Make it: when a dish needs something you'd first have to make — brewed coffee, separated eggs, the dry mix — we now offer the prep that makes it and cook it on the spot. What a prep produces on the side (egg whites, bacon grease) lands in your pantry as its own leftovers, Keep or Toss.
- Pantry places: every item lives in the pantry, fridge, or freezer, with USDA shelf lives for each. Move an item and the clock follows; freeze part of a pack and thaw just what you need.
- Produce stickers scan now: the camera reads the printed PLU number, since those stickers have no barcode.
- Voice logging moved to a "Talk to Tuna" button on the meal planner, hears you better, and what it logs shows up immediately.
- Grocery check-offs survive store wifi, and the list holds its order while you shop.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-14

- Voice logging: tap the mic on Home and say what happened. "The kids each had a cheese stick" logs a meal for anyone in the household, "I made the chicken bowls for four" cooks the recipe and draws its ingredients down, "the rest of the spinach went bad" records waste. It reads back what it heard, and nothing counts until you confirm it.
- The Menu now reads like a restaurant's: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, and All Recipes tabs, each one ranked against a real meal slot so what's expiring gets somewhere to go.
- The planner fills itself in: an empty slot names the dish suggested for it, home leads with the meal that still needs deciding, and eating out is a one-tap skip. Set your grocery trips per week and how far ahead to plan under Settings, Planning.
- Pantry rows gain "Make something with this" — the recipes and meal ideas that use that item, cooked straight into whichever meal you pick.
- Calories now read off the label the way it's printed. A panel that leads with kilojoules no longer lands as 994 calories when it says 290, and calories burned from a workout are no longer off by a factor of a thousand.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-09

- Plan intention: when adding to the Meal Planner, indicate if tracking what you ate, cooking a recipe, or throwing something together without a recipe.
- You can also name a loose, thrown-together batch you cooked, and indicate how many servings it made after people have eaten from it.
- When short an ingredient with an exact match we now expand to similar other foods that could be substitutes.
- When scanning receipts, quantity listed on the receipt for an item is used
- Several improvements to pantry list organization: sort, filter, and group the pantry the way you want it. "Went bad" is a swipe.
