## What is Tunerval?

Tunerval helps with three ear training skills: audiation, relative pitch, and intonation.

• Audiation is the ability to hear a pitch in your head
• Relative pitch is the ability to identify or produce an interval from a reference pitch
• Intonation is the ability to discriminate pitches which are close together

- Game Play -
For each question, Tunerval will play two pitches. For the specified interval, you must use your ear to determine whether the second pitch played was sharp, flat, or in tune. As you get more questions correct, the difference between the correct interval and the sharp and flat pitches decreases.

If you want to continue to improve, you need to project the pitch of the correct interval in your head and compare it with the pitch that was played.

## Key features

- Audiation training
- Relative pitch identification
- Intonation discrimination
- Interval pitch comparison
- Progressive difficulty

### 4/5 — Great app, no response from devs

*2022-01-06*

Really great, but every time I try to purchase the piano sound the app crashes. I’ve deleted the app and downloaded it again, but it still crashes. I contacted the app creator nearly a month ago but haven’t received a response.

### 5/5 — Simply the best ear trainer

*2020-07-09*

For violinist, this app is a gift. I can sense my ear has improved and now be able to identify flat/sharp note easier. It takes a lot of practices, but it works. I would pay for subscription just for the developer to continue the development

### 4/5 — Pretty Good App

*2020-03-15*

It only allows tests/trains equal temperament. Creating an option for Just/Pure intonation would be a welcomed feature!

### 5/5 — A must for fretless

*2019-12-31*

This app is a must for fretless instrument players.

### 5/5 — feature request

*2019-08-19*

i’d like to have the option to have just the first note played, then a button to have the second note play. would give me a chance to see if i can summon the interval from my own head before i hear it.

terrific app!!

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2019-01-04*

Exactly the tuning practice I've been looking for!! Perfect for timpanists

### 1/5 — Buying piano sound breaks the app

*2017-07-11*

Was working fine otherwise

**Developer response:** Hi Bears taking notes. I'm sorry to hear this happened. This issue should be solved now. If it is not, please contact me at rednebmas+tunerval@gmail.com so I can help you resolve it as soon as possible.

### 5/5 — A fun way to get better with difficult musical concepts

*2016-10-19*

It's cool. And now I am better at intervals. What can I say. Seriously, though. It's awesome.

### 5/5 — Really Helps

*2016-08-18*

You can definitely make a lot of progress if you use this every day.
