## What is Tunova?

Tunova is a precision musical instrument tuner for iPhone and iPad. Built around the YIN pitch detection algorithm, it delivers accurate, responsive tuning for any acoustic or electric instrument — and any chromatic source.

NINE INSTRUMENTS
Chromatic, Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Violin, Viola, Cello, Mandolin, Banjo. Multiple tunings included: Standard, Drop D, Open G, DADGAD, 4 and 5-string bass, Soprano/Concert/Baritone ukulele, and more. Automatic string matching shows you the closest target string as you play.

TWO GAUGE MODES
Needle — the familiar analog-style indicator, fast to read for everyday tuning.
Strobe — a high-precision Metal-rendered display that reveals sub-cent drift for studio work, fine intonation, and pianos.

HISTORICAL TEMPERAMENTS
Move beyond Equal Temperament with Just Intonation, Meantone ¼, and Werckmeister III — essential for early music, harpsichord, fretless instruments, and historically informed performance.

CUSTOM REFERENCE PITCH
Tune to Baroque 415 Hz, modern 440 Hz, orchestral 442 Hz, or anywhere between (415–460 Hz).

REFERENCE TONE GENERATOR
Generate any note to tune by ear — perfect for string instruments without an electronic tuner on hand.

NOISE GATE
A configurable noise gate with automatic mode filters out ambient sound so the tuner tracks only your instrument, even in less-than-perfect environments.
