### 2/5 — Functional, but not really usable

*2019-11-19*

The existence of this app was part of what sold me on the TurboSound system, but I have been rather disappointed. It is true that, once paired, the app allows you to change settings, but I find myself exasperated every time I try to use it. I have resorted to using the on-device controls, which are annoying because of the many layers one has to navigate with one knob—still, it is better than this app. The app UI seems to be more focused on looking good for sales screenshots than on working well. Like other comments, I am bewildered that the level “faders” offer no numeric confirmation of the level you have set, and the graphic display does not seem to correspond with the actual level. It would be better to just let me type a level! I have been waiting nearly a year for what seems like an inevitable app update, since this version is pretty much unusable.

### 2/5 — It doesn’t work with iPhone 11 Pro Max

*2019-10-28*

I down loaded the App. It works fir the first time. After that it doesn’t work any more. It keeps scanning and saying that “Your phone must be paired and connected with the speaker in your device’s Bluetooth setting” However, my iPhone is always connected with the iP300 speaker. I can stream music to the speaker all the time, but the App doesn’t work.

### 2/5 — Love the gear but not the app

*2019-01-27*

As many other reviewers have stated, the app would be MUCH MUCH more useful if it showed overall headroom and how close the amplifier is to clipping.

The basic EQ and channel level controls are cool and all, but without the output/clip monitoring, the app is not really necessary at all in order to use your ip rig.

I never use it.

The EV app for the evolve rig is what I wish this was.

Oh well. Still in love with TURBOSOUND hardware.

### 2/5 — Needs to be updated

*2018-11-30*

The app connects easily but just showing wheels to adjust the volumes is not enough. Need to add actual level values. Time to update please!

### 2/5 — Just downloaded and ver 1.10

*2018-05-21*

Just downloaded and gave me version 1.1.0 and not the newest

### 2/5 — Troubled

*2018-05-03*

After reading other reviews, I cautiously set up my ip3000 for the first time.
Paired....where’s the music?
At first it was my iPad volume that was low and so I turned it up all the way.
I can barely hear anything.
I’m looking at the app along with the level settings on the panel, main -50, sub, -18.
I start turned up the app slider and watching the numbers on the display go up. But the slider visually tops out but there’s more power left to go.

Why dies the app not mimic the dB level on the display?
Seems like a no brained.

### 2/5 — App Needs Work

*2017-11-18, version 1.3.0*

Sound cuts out intermittently if app is left open. Using with pair of iP2000’s. As soon as app is closed, no drop outs. Please update.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Lazy Product UI Development

*2024-05-09*

This looks like it was designed from a wireframe by people who had no idea what the UI was actually supposed to do. No numeric values?! Pointless. It’s even more disturbing that there has been no update to rectify the extremely obvious shortcomings. If this is the quality of the rig, how can I count on other components? I dont know. Too many competitors out there to be this lazy and apathetic about the user experience

### 1/5 — Quit working

*2023-06-03*

We’ve enjoyed this app for several years but we can now no longer connect to Bluetooth or operate the app at all. It just spins and says scanning but won’t connect anymore.

### 1/5 — Poor

*2021-10-26*

The Bluetooth worked the first two times I used this then it stays in the search mode looking for the connection. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app several times but it still does the same thing.

I wish it had better sliders that would fit my fingers. The sliders just don’t work so good.

This is the most basic set of controls. And they aren’t easy to control.

A users guide would be good.

I was hoping for an easy way to set up the PA. But this isn’t it. Turbo Sound put the display in an awkward viewing angle and I have read the display upside down when gigging. Pretty disappointed in everything.

### 1/5 — Joke-garbage

*2021-01-28*

Joke

### 1/5 — Designed by a 5 year old

*2020-06-27*

This app is extremely disappointing. It seems like it was designed by a child. I bought the ip500 specifically bc of the “digital mixer,” but i am highly disappointed with this joke of an app. While i wouldnt expect to be able to do ALL of the functions of a normal digital mixer, at the least a mute button is MANDATORY. While it does “recall gain settings,” there is no way to save a scene. I use this unit for a solo and a duo act so its very cumbersome adjusting levels for each. By the description on the site i was expecting to be able to recall settings for different uses, but this app just “remembers” what you set it at last time. Hardly impressive. I really wish id spent more on something like the EV evolve. They must have actual musicians designing apps and not just letting the lowest bidder put out inferior software. Also im not sure if my app is working correctly since i dont get the option to change reverb settings or individual eq on the unit. Basically this app seems like it was designed by a child and makes me want to return the ip500 immediately. Shame on you Turbosound!!! This app had the potential to be great, but instead its not even adequate!!! 🤬🤬🤬

### 1/5 — @@ Absolutely horrible app @@

*2017-12-09*

THIS UPDATE WENT the wrong direction - any professional that would use this product will demand numbered indicators as vague slide faders are absolutely useless - TURBOSOUND should know this.. better indicators with numbers for volume, balance, and EQ. This app is totally useless to me now and probably getting rid of the speakers because of this..

### 1/5 — Missing key features

*2017-10-27*

The app doesn’t allow you to see when you reach the speaker’s limit. The audio signal displays aren’t accurate for XLR lines

Most current update fixes the interface of manipulating the device wirelessly but still doesn’t address the lack of a limit indicator for IX series.

### 2/5 — Not working on iPhone 16 Pro

*2025-06-24, version 1.4.1*

Why does this app work well on an iPad Pro but not on an iPhone? I’ve tried it on several iPhone 16 Pro devices with no success!

### 2/5 — No Level Indicators, too dumbed-down

*2022-10-08, version 1.4.1*

Way too basic and dumbed down. No level parameter indicators so, for example, if you want to make sure inputs A and B are matched, it’s a guessing game. Essential for anyone doing sound to have an accurate reference. Also, only a basic low, mid, high 3 band EQ. At least a 10 band, or optimally a 32 band EQ shouldn’t be that difficult to implement. A settings reset button, and an EQ on/off bypass button would also be nice. Hardly worth the app download as it is.

### 2/5 — Will you ever update?

*2020-09-10*

Ridiculous that there’s no updates to this app?! Why put out a product and never improve upon it? The speakers are great. A quality app would make the experience so much better! Come on...

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It does exactly what it’s supposed to do!

*2025-05-21*

Simple, easy to use and anyone can figure it out. Reading the other reviews….shows how lazy engineers are thinking they wouldn’t need a legitimate mixer for anything beyond an acoustic setup or Bluetooth audio!

### 5/5 — Excellent app!

*2020-06-06*

Everything works perfectly and I’m happy with the user interface. Great job.

### 5/5 — Best..

*2018-12-23*

Easy to use..

### 5/5 — Lucky to own this

*2016-05-19*

If you are lucky enough to have gotten your hands on any of the ip series, you will love it. I got rid of all my speakers in my house and just have one ip2000 that does it all, Movies, music, streaming from phone to Spotify. It's the best. App is great to have in your hand. I set the sub a bit lower for movies.

### 5/5 — My favourite app.

*2015-07-29, version 1.0.0*

The only thing that would have to go back and I don't think that it was not immediately available to comment on the way you can get it right away with a lot more fun if I had a good time with you on your own music is a good time with you on your own music is a great way of saying it would mean so so happy to see my tweets and you have a great way of saying it.

### 3/5 — Works but could improve

*2019-02-21*

Mine works fine. But I’d like to be able to Mute instead of having to turn volume all the way down. The sliders could be wider or more user friendly. I hope you improve the app cause this is a great feature for the system.

### 3/5 — Missing ability to mute the mics

*2018-05-10*

Nice app but you need to make the mics mutable. That would add better functionality.

### 3/5 — Lacking mic effects

*2016-11-07, version 1.2.0*

The iP1000 itself is an awesome bit of kit, but I can't help feel that this app is not up to the same standard. The virtual rotary knobs are not at all ideal for fine adjustment, by design you are covering the bit you need to see with your finger so it's hard to adjust by just one notch. There is also no screen rotation option, it's just stuck in a "not quite full screen" portrait mode.
I'm also not sure if it's a hardware or software issue, but the main advertising for the iP1000 revolves around its capacity for providing all you need in a compact easy to transport unit. But with no mic effects on board (Ie. Reverb, echo etc), it becomes necessary to carry another pedal, or analogue mixer with the required effects. I hope they can improve on this in future firmware or app updates.
another suggestion for the future might be some sort of overlay feature, so I can have the main controls overlaid on, say, a backing track player. meaning I wouldnt have to swap back and forth between apps.
