Loses connection if Turbo Window closes. Great App for non-serious IRC users. No spell check capabilty ### 4/5 — The app does what it claims *2022-02-27* The app works well. There is a learning curve but it is not a deal breaker. Could there be improvements? Yes, but with all things maybe in time. ### 4/5 — TurboIRC works well as a Stand-Alone IRC platform *2020-05-30, version 2.611* Split screen in iPadOS 13 might allow to run TurboIRC and browser at same time. Update: Split Screen is disabled for this app. I need to switch to my browser regularly when using TurboIRC, but its risky because TurboIRC will loose connection sometimes. Solution: Browser is available using Reader Pane / Reader View sliding finger to left from the right edge of the screen. This solution does not cause TurboIRC to loose connection. ### 2/5 — OK *2019-10-25* No SSL support and recent updates. So why is is fb messenger and skype can reconnect with everything intact, but you cant? 3. Why cant i set a favorite channel and group ( i just have 1 at moment. 1 or 2 more desirable on same channel) ### 3/5 — Needs an update *2015-11-02, version 2.611* The app does not detect the presence of an external keyboard. When an external keyboard is present, the app still leaves room for the system keyboard, which wastes a lot of screen space. Just a pig to look at. ### 4/5 — Awful UI, But DCC Works *2015-09-02* This app has one of the worst UIs I've ever seen on iOS--nothing even vaguely intuitive about it, no consistency with the OS standards, tiny little buttons that take five tries to tap, etc. But it's the only iOS IRC client that supports DCC file transfers (or at least it was when I got it), so I'll forgive it just about anything for that. ### 2/5 — Got potential *2015-07-21, version 2.611* Could be amazing but disconnect when phone goes to sleep. Surely there's a way to prevent iPhone going to sleep ? Like waze for eg keeps staying active... ### 3/5 — Can't really test it. *2015-07-08* I wanted to like this app, and it seemed to work well. However, there were a couple of things that bugged me about it. 1) When filling in settings, you have to set the font first, and then your nicks, otherwise it will forget what you just entered in the nicks boxes after you leave the font chooser window. Not that bad, but annoying. 2) The killer for me was that you can only test the app on the handful of servers that are pre-set by the developer. I understand that if you want to connect to multiple servers concurrently, you'll need to purchase that feature. However, I wanted to add a server that I use all the time so I could test the experience on my favorite server. No can do. Clicking the "New Server" button does nothing. I gave the app 3 stars because it seems to work well, but if I can't try it on my regular server without paying then it's not for me. ### 4/5 — What worked till I found IRCCloud *2015-05-09* This app has a learning curve. You must be adequately familiar with IRC to properly set this app up for your desired use, but it's good when in use. The only noticeable issue I constantly ran into was either not being able to see text in the setup menu, or if an app is running in the background, the entire app frame is shifted down, so sometimes certain things weren't accessible. But overall, it's a great app (so long as you have an iPad-sized screen). I currently use IRCCloud, which is much easier to set up, even though it does have some bugs here and there. ### 4/5 — Worth the price tag for PRO! *2015-04-11, version 2.511* The app works great since latest update, still few bugs here and there but come on its irc on your iOS device! Keep up the good work! ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2015-04-09, version 2.511* The developers openly complain of the three minute window that iOS puts on the app, but as soon as they do, and they upgrade, the app no lingers works properly and cannot add or edit servers, rendering it worthless. Disappointing after a year of fairly flawless use. Looking elsewhere. ### 4/5 — Great, but... *2015-02-12, version 2.114* I love how simple this is and how easy it is to use. In my opinion, it needs more features. I really would like to disable the [name] has joined / [name] has left. I know you can check "combine elements" but it still appears at the top, which lags me out to the point where my message will send, two minutes after the intended send time. Is there a way you could remove this entirely? ### 1/5 — Can't choose a new server?! *2015-01-22, version 2.114* HORRIBLE! I can't even choose A server not in the default list! When I try, it tries to connects me to "irc.something" and won't let me put in the server Address no matter what I do! I’ve told friends and they all love it to after download ### 5/5 — Excelled where others failed *2017-10-10* I spent hours trying to find an IRC client on iOS that could handle DCC and had no luck until I found this. It cost 99¢ to get the file option, but well worth it. Minutes after downloading the app, I was able to receive files. UI isn't gonna win any awards but it's intuitive enough if you know what you're doing. I don't know why people complain for functionality an irc app isn't supposed to have. ### 5/5 — My favorite IRC app for iOS *2014-09-12, version 2.111* Please keep in mind you will not be able to stay connected if the app is not in the foreground. This is true of any IRC app for iOS. They all disconnect after a set period of time; I believe it is 10 minutes. It is simple to connect and simple to set up for anyone who knows about IRC. The only issue I have is occasionally, the text box where I would type text disappears. It is not hidden behind any ad. It just disappears. The ads are not intrusive, by the way.
