Customer service is just ai and bots with preset questions and answers, called issuing company and they said it has to be the company holding it or having it stuck processing with turbo tax or Credit Karma because it was issued to the correct account already. And yes I checked the irs find my refund website as the bots suggested numerous times and it says issued. ### 1/5 — Needs an update for IPad 9th gen *2026-07-06, version 12.12* Not able to click on any of the bottom options in order to continue because of the bottom row options. ### 1/5 — Terrible help after service *2026-06-26, version 12.11* I did the payment plan option to make monthly payments for what I owed and it has been a nightmare ive talked to probably over 50 different people in the last 3 months and the bank and nobody can answer what the issue is thay say it good but the payment does not go through and if you schedule a call for help and don’t answer with in 5 seconds there are suddenly no longer available they say there take the problem to higher up then you only get a rejected payment and a notice that it needs to be paid I would if i could but unfortunately they don’t feel the need to actually do there jobs or care for any issue that isn’t a single push of a button fix i highly doubt not recommend this company especially if there not going to finish the service you paid them to do ### 1/5 — Just go to a person *2026-06-26, version 12.11* The AI chat bot it’s no help. I’ve been waiting on my returns for months and turbo tax helper does absolutely nothing. I can’t believe I paid my own money to do my own taxes. Just pay a human person to do them. Turbo tax each time says I am due a refund but I never receive one for various reasons. Turbo tax gets there money 212 dollars and I get nothing. By the way turbo tax uses an ACH withdrawal from my bank account in the middle of the night to make sure they get paid while I get nothing seems unfair. Won’t let me switch because they claim I already paid but I haven’t even filed yet. When I do get people they are nice, just likely will do my taxes in person next year after this experience. 5/18 update I ended up getting a great expert to help - sadly, I signed up in April for the $150 offer and the price ended up being $536.75. Being 2 different experts couldn’t file in time for by April 15 even though I had my documents done in time. That price wasn’t told to me until I saw it after the process was done. And every year there is an option to file free ad they advertise on tv. Well, this past year when I filed, I get an email saying that my bank will be charged $119.00 for a deluxe option that I never wanted and never selected. I’m moving on from these thieves. I’d give no stars if I could. They charged me for a tax expert for a tax year I didn’t need and when they couldn’t get the payment they auto drafted from my savings account and now I am short for my rent money!! LITERALLY GO ANYWHERE ELSE. I’ll never use this service again. And can’t even reach support to complain. ### 1/5 — Longtime user no more *2026-05-23, version 12.9* I’ve used TurboTax for years and appreciate the convenience of it having my tax history, BUT I WILL NOT BE USING IT AGAIN. This past year, I used the tax expert to do my taxes and encountered so many problems with the expert, the software, and the website that it cost me time and money. I’ve given detailed feedback to TurboTax and they don’t care and don’t take ownership of the problems. I even applied for a refund of the purchase of the software and received a negative response saying once payment has been received, I’m not eligible for a refund EVEN IF THE RETURN IS REJECTED BY THE AGENCY! The only reason I use this is because I’ll go to jail under threat of extortion if I don’t. ### 1/5 — They incorrectly filed my taxes. *2026-05-21, version 12.9* I’m a single person with no dependents who owns no property and has had one employer. I received a letter from the IRS shortly after filing my 2025 taxes (on time) with a $100+ penalty for miscalculating my 2025 taxes (I already paid $2,800.) TurboTax is supposed to have a penalty guarantee for this kind of thing, but I’ve received no help at all and only get AI responses. They have no customer service representation, only tax advisors can speak to you. They are authorized to do nothing for you for all the service problems. They hide behind their terms and conditions and put all the work on you- the customer - should you have a complaint, which three out of five years I have. I’m finished with TT and recommend you dont get hooked. It’s garbage. ### 1/5 — DO NOT USE TT- 10+ yr Customer Leaving for Good Reasons *2026-05-17, version 12.9* Over the years turbo tax’s increasing greed has really been a turn off. It went from actually being free, to being over a $100 to file while every commercial still falsely advertises it “free” for the most basic. Well this year I went elsewhere and got faster filing that was ACTUALLY free. To top that off it’s very concerning to hear data is being shared with other non US entities this year (I’ll leave the genocidal country unnamed, I’m sure you can guess.) Why do they need American’s tax information? It’s giving treason. Thank GOD I switched and will not be back, ethically I refuse to support this evil company. Rot in hell ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2026-08-07, version 12.14* Turbo Tax USED to be a solid way to file your taxes to avoid the price gauge from other companies. However, now they want to charge $150 for a tax refund I completed myself, and had AI check over. I’m confused as to how I need to pay or take out of my refund $150 for something a 12 year old could input and click through. On top of that, you can only file around THEIR time, as their website and app are insanely slow, and won’t let you move on from a step. Just as the other companies and private contractors, turbo tax is a money hungry organization who will do any and everything they can to ring out your pockets before you get your refund. ### 1/5 — Losing time and money *2026-07-25, version 12.13.1* This app just make me lose more time and money the regular ones i try to se how work but i loss so much so never use turbo tax again. I chose the FREE TurboTax. I used the standard 1040 return. Had only one W-2. I did however have the Child Tax Credit, and the Earned Income Tax Credit but these were included so why am I being billed? It never came up telling me I was going to be billed. What a lie. A month later I get an email that tells me; For the online state DIY I owe $64 + For the deluxe I owe $79 for a total of $143. You cannot respond to the email. You can only call them so I called them. Went round and round with the AI that responds to their calls, until I finally got an agent. They will not reverse the charges. They said it continuously tells you through out the filing process that you’re going to be charged. It did not do that. I wouldn’t have entered my credit card information if I’ve known that. How stupid do you think I am? I’ve done taxes using software for years never been charged. Funny thing is they aren’t even my taxes I was doing my son a favor by doing his taxes. Even though it’s supposed to be free, it’s still requires you to enter in a payment method at the end or you cannot continue. Bad thing is I use my debit card in the filing process so I’m the one gonna be billed. I’m 66 years old and live on a disability check. I know one thing for sure I’ll never use the “FREE” TurboTax again. And I’m going to blast this all over social media. Here is what TurboTax’s standard reply is “Our system is designed to detect the complexity of your return based on the information provided. Free Edition filing is intended for simple 1040 returns only not including any schedules except Schedule 1-A, Child Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit and student loan interest.” ### 1/5 — Scammed me *2026-07-20, version 12.13.1* I’ve used TurboTax for years and for some reason this year after signing up, sending in my state, and federal taxes I got denied multiple times. So I decided to use another app and had 0 issues. Now, TurboTax is trying to charge me for filing my taxes that never went through. I’ve been trying to get a hold of somebody through customer service and it seems impossible. If you get denied for some bogus reason like I did after quadruple checking and even starting over twice, you’ll have to pay regardless of the lack in support pre or post tax filing ### 1/5 — Mala experiencia *2026-07-17, version 12.13.1* Me tocó hacerlos de nuevo no hay un número que te responda cuando un agente presenta mal tu declaración de impuestos ### 1/5 — Misleading free e-file *2026-07-16, version 12.13.1* After selecting the free versions and inputting all of my information before I could submit it there was a pop up saying I had to pay $70 for state and $70 for federal. Pretty scummy to wait until someone is almost finished to suddenly require money. ### 1/5 — Help interface doesn’t address the actual app *2026-07-16, version 12.13* As mentioned in title, the help ai addresses something entirely different than the app itself. If you have questions for the app, the app assumes you’re on a computer using an entirely different app. I didn’t figure the is out until realizing that every hint or idea it gave me had morning to do with the actual app and it started mentioning that the iOS app may differ from the desktop app or something. I’ve used turbo tax for years. The free version because my taxes are easy, no brainer every year until this year. I had a 1099. It made it a bit more difficult. They only thing I did Not like was the scare tactics they used to get me to upgrade upgrade upgrade. I barely made $27,000. and as you know that’s not much money for one to live on in a year, so you can imagine how hard it was for me to pay them over $200, to have my taxes done. They kept warning me that I might need expert help. And now that my taxes are done I keep getting emails trying to get me to get audit protection. I DO NOT LIKE THAT!! Since it was my first time and i’m not that well educated on this subject i decided to go in person and get help with someone. She told me i would be returned $500 but she was charging me $250 for her service- I was shocked by the price she was charging me and starting exploring other options. I decided to try H&R Block and Turboxtax. The process with turbo tax was so easy and they also gave me the same response, that i’d be refunded $500 but i only had to pay $43 for the turbos tax services!! Highly recommend it to anyone. However; my wife used TurboTax and decided to pay for a professional to do them for her. Andrew C. did my wife’s taxes and seemed to do a fine job at first. This was in March, at least a month before tax day. He calls a week later and says she needs to amend her taxes. That’s ok. Mistakes happen. We work it out and give it back to him. He calls us back again and says we have to amend it again 2 days before tax day. We also can’t pay online. We have to mail it. We try contacting him and he doesn’t respond until after usps closes on tax day.
